Core Sync –Interface Module
Modules mustbe installed by a qualified electrician.
(Check with local and national codes for proper installation)
1. Caution: Observe precautions for handling electrostatic sensitive sensors.
2. WARNING:Risk of electric shock. Do not handle energized module with wet hands or when standing
on wet or damp surfaces.
3. WARRANTY: Voided if module has been modified from original configuration.
4. Suitable for damp locations.
5. Do not use Outdoors.
6. Use only with Class 2 Power Unit –60VDCmaximum.
7. Conforms UL 60730-1, CAN/CSA-E60730-1.
8. Suitable for Use in Other Environmental Air Space (Plenums) in accordancewith Section 300.22, (C) of
the NationalElectricalCode
9. This device complies with part 15 of theFCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and(2) this device must accept any
interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
10. Maximum temperature is 30°C ambient.
11. Input: PoE voltagerange of 42-57V.
12. For CSA, device is intended to be installed in a restrictedaccess area.

14. Snap in the wire harness male connector into the femaleconnector as shown below. The connector
from the Gatewayside must plug into the INPUT connector:
**Warning** Input and output connections are not interchangeable. While no damage will
occur if the connections are switched, the device(s) will not function properly
15. The other end of the wire harness goes into a Gateway, ifit is a 5x2 connector (Molex part number
180887-04XX or 180888-04XX). If it is a 2x2 connection (Molex part number 180777-04XX or 180778-
04XX), then it can connect to a driver or another sensor’s “Output”. Gateway, driver, and other sensor
aresupplied separately. For more information on the wire harnesses, see data sheet 987651-5943
**Warning** Do not hot plug the device. Make sure the gatewayis disconnected and powered
off from the PoE power before connecting a sensor to theCoreSync bus.
16. To daisy chain anothersensor or driver, simply connect a 4-pin to 4-pin Transcend wireharness
from the “Output” of the current sensor, and connect the other end to the “Input” of the next
device.
Entiredaisy chain lengths from thestart of the GW to the last node must be <30m.

Up to 8 nodes can be daisy chained from one gatewayaslong as the maximum power of the
gatewayis not exceeded.
