showtheULspecificationsforvariouswiresizes. Thetensile strengthis shownin poundsand indicatesthe minimumacceptable
forcetobreakorseparatetheterminalfromtheconductor.

makesuretheseamoftheterminalisoriented
upordowninthetoolifusingunbrazedproduct,
asthiswillprovidehigherpullforcevalues.
Crimping Terminals
1. Thereare2tablocatorbladessuppliedwiththetool. Oneisfor.187
and.250tabs;theotherisfor.205tabsand.110tabs. Makesurethe
properbladeisinstalledonthe topofthelocatorandtheotherisstored
onthebottomofthelocator.
2. Pushtheterminalontothetablocatorallthewaytothestopin the
color-codednest. The barrelofthe terminalshouldbe up(See
Figure 1).
3. Partiallyclosethetooltoholdtheterminalinplace(SeeFigure2).
4. Inserttheproperlystrippedwireintotheterminalbarrel(SeeFigure
2and3). Cyclethetool.
5. Removethecrimpandinspectforpropercrimp
location. MolexoffersaCrimpInspectionHandbook
forclosed barrel industrial product. See our website

Maintenance
Itisrecommendedthateachoperatorofthetool be
madeawareof,andresponsiblefor,thefollowing
maintenancesteps:
1. Removedust, moisture and other contaminants
withaclean brush,or soft,lint-freecloth.
2. Donotuseanyabrasivematerialsthatcould
damagethetool.
3. Makecertainallpin,pivotpoints andbearing
surfacesareprotectedwith athincoat ofhigh
qualitymachineoil. Donotoilexcessively.The
64001-1000(RHT-5758-CC)wasengineeredfor
durability,but likeanyfine pieceofequipment
itneedscleaningandlubricationforamaximum
servicelifeoftrouble-freecrimping. Alight oil,
suchas30weightautomotiveoilusedattheoil
pointsshowninFigure4,every5,000crimpsor
3monthswillsignificantlyenhance thetoollifeandensureastablecalibration.
4. Whentoolisnotinuse,keepthehandlesclosedtopreventobjectsfrombecoming lodgedinthecrimping dies,andstorethe tool
inaclean,dryarea.
Miscrimps or Jams
Shouldthistooleverbecomestuckorjammedinapartiallyclosedposition, Do Notforcethehandlesopen or closed.Thetoolwill
openeasilybypressing theratchetreleaselever (SeeFigure5).
How To Adjust Tool Preload (See Figure 5)
Overthelifeofthetool,itmaybenecessarytoadjusttoolhandlepreloadforce.Listedbelowarethestepsrequired toadjustthe
crimpingforceofthe handtooltoobtain propercrimpconditions:
1. Removethescrewandplasticcoverwasher.
Notethesettingwheelposition.
2. Liftthesettingwheel offtheaxle. Turnthe
eccentricaxlewithascrewdriver.
3. Turningtheeccentricaxlecounter-clockwise
willincrease handleforce.
4. Replacethesettingwheeltotheaxle,
aligningthenearestnotchinthesetting
wheeltothedowelpin.
5. Replacetheplastic coverwasher andscrew.
6. Checkthecrimp specificationsafter tool
crimpforceisadjusted.

Tool Calibration
ACertificateofCalibration(seelastpage)wassuppliedwiththetool. To
recalibratethistool,pingaugemeasurementsshouldbetakenineach
conductornest and compared to this chart. The tool shouldbelubricated
priortorecalibrationto ensureconsistentmeasurements.Handle preloadis
factorysetto25-45LBS.SeeHowtoAdjustToolPreload(SeeFigure5)to
recalibrate.
Warranty
Thistoolisforelectricalterminalcrimpingpurposesonly. Thistoolismadeofthebestqualitymaterials.Allvitalcomponentsarelong-
lifetested. Alltoolsarewarrantedtobe freeofmanufacturingdefectsforaperiodof30days. Shouldsuchadefectoccur,wewill
repairorexchangethetool freeofcharge. Thisrepairorexchangewillnotbeapplicabletoaltered,misusedor damagedtools. This
toolisdesignedfor handuseonly. Anyclamping,fixturing,oruseofhandle extensionsvoidsthiswarranty.
Handheldcrimpingtoolsareintendedforlowvolume,prototyping orrepairrequirementsonly.
