HOW DOES THERMO-:
CERAMIC TECHNOLOGY:
WORK?:
The straightener contains a special thermoceramic
heating element, which ensures it heats up to a very
high temperature in seconds. This high heat is then
maintained throughout use, to guarantee straight
hair all day.
The ceramic coated plates ensure that the hair
cuticle lies flat once styled. This ensures that your
hair reflects light and therefore appears healthy and
shiny. The ceramic coating also acts as a barrier to
protect your hair from the high temperature reached
by the tong. This minimises damage to the cuticle.

SAFETY INFORMATION:
When using your hair straightener, basic safety
precautions should always be followed. Please read
these instructions carefully before using the product,
and keep them in a safe place for future reference.
nn
1This straightener is professional standard, and
reaches very high temperatures. Always be careful
not to allow the plates to come into contact with
the skin.
nn
2Do not leave the plates in contact with the hair for
more than a few seconds. The straightener reaches
very high temperatures, so there is no need to leave
the hair between the plates for longer than a few
seconds. This will avoid unnecessary damage to the
hair cuticle.
nn
3Use the appliance for its intended use only
nn
4To protect against the risk of electric shock, do not
immerse the appliance in water or any other
liquids.
nn
5It is recommended that this appliance should not be
used by children.
nn
6Always unplug your appliance when it is not in use.
nn
7Do not leave the straightener switched on while
unattended.
nn
8Do not take this product into a bathroom, or use
near water.
nn
9In the event of cable damage, do not attempt to
replace the mains cable – return to Morphy
Richards.
nn
10After use, do not store until the product has cooled
down.
nn
11Do not place the straightener on surfaces likely to
be damaged by the heat.
WIRING:
This product is fitted with a 13A (BS1363) plug. A 3amp
fuse (BS1362) must be used. Check the voltage on the
rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your
house electricity supply which must be AC (Alternating
current). If the socket outlets in your home are not
suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance the
plug should be removed and an appropriate one fitted.
IMPORTANT: THE PLUG REMOVED FROM THE MAINS
LEAD, IF SEVERED MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG
WITH BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF
ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET.
MAINS LEAD:
As a safety precaution and to prolong the life of your
appliance, do not wrap the mains lead around the
appliance as this will cause damage.
HOW TO USE YOUR:
STRAIGHTENER:
nn
1Choose either setting I or II dependent on the
temperature you require. The temperature you
need will depend on the thickness of your hair
and the result you want to achieve. Setting ‘I’ is
the lowest, ‘II’ the highest. The red indicator
light will illuminate when you select the heat
setting required.
nn
2Once the straightener has reached a temperature
suitable for use, the light will begin to flash. This
usually takes less than 1 minute.
!Ensure your hair is thoroughly dry before you
begin styling – this will avoid damage to the
hair.
nn
3Divide your hair into sections, brushing each
section thoroughly.
nn
4Clamp a section of the hair between the
straightening plates, as close to the roots as
possible. Gently slide the straightener down
your hair shaft to the ends. For more difficult
sections of hair, you may need to repeat this.
Avoid leaving your hair clamped inside the
straightener for more than a few seconds, as this
could cause unnecessary damage to the cuticle.
nn
6To create movement in the hair, use your wrist
to shape the ends either inwards our outwards
depending on the style you wish to achieve.
nn
7Repeat on all sections of the hair.
nn
8Clean your straightener regularly for best results.
Always do this when the straightener is switched
off and has cooled down.

CLEANING:
It is normal to find build up of hair products on the
straightening plates. In order to avoid this you
should clean your straightener regularly. Always wait
for the plates to cool down thoroughly before
cleaning. Use a damp cloth to remove any build up.
If this fails to clean the plates, try a non abrasive
cleaning wipe e.g. CIF.
