Basic Configuration
Notice of Basic Configuration
1
.For general application purpose (Such as conversation between
SIP extensions, conversation between SIP extensions and MOSA
devices, ISR call service), the parameter is configured in advance
You only need to setup IP address, My phone number and change
your real IP/Phone ID and configure this machine to pass through
NAT, and then you are able to use this device

. For other advanced application purpose (such as SIP IP PBX
advanced function, Integration with other MOSA
advanced/value-added application), please refer to the user
manual in attached CD.

. For some reason, you reset this machine and all data is lost, you
may refer to Appendix C and the description of this manual to
configure it back again.

. The description of this guide is based on small size model,
Firmware 1.06.3, Server Mode. Earlier version has more complex
installation procedure. Please upgrade firmware before starting
configuration.
Note: Standard size model is phased out and upgrade is not possible.

1.3 LED indicator of MOSA 4600B SIP Line

2. Configuration of Network Environment
This chapter helps you how to configure the parameter of network
The default IP address of this machine is 192.168.0.2, Please configure the IP address of
your PC to the same Subnet of this machine (For example: 192.168.0.179), and then you
are able to configure the management web by Web Browser
2.1 Configuration for Windows XP / 2000 / 98
Step 1
Single click "My Network Places" in
desktop

Right click "Properties"
Preparation before Configuration:
1. Please prepare a PC or Notebook PC. Connect one side of LAN cable to LAN
and connect one side of LAN cable to 【1】of MOSA SIP Line.
2. Connect Power Adapter and Power Core to MOSA SIP Line and also plug
adapter to power outlet. It needs about 30 second to boot MOSA SIP Line.
3. Please contact your network administrator to get a Fix IP for MOSASIP Line.

7-2: Input WEB in User Name field (capitalized WEB) and leave Password
blank. They are default value and it can be modified in management web
later

3. Configure IP and My Phone Number
This chapter tells you how to configure the IP address and My Phone Number of this
machine
IPAddress: Please apply a set of IP address from Network Administrator for this
machine in advance. We suggest you to use Fixed Public IP. If you
use Private IP, please refer to Chapter 11 for how to pass through
NAT
My Phone Number: We suggest you to use PSTN phone number from office or
home.

Configuration of IP address:
1. Click path on left column: HOME / IP Settings
2. Input IP Address aware from network administrator in Change To field.
3. Click Apply after new IPAddress had been inputted
Input new IP
address and
then click Apply
Normally, it needs to restart when the IP information is changed, however,
please restart it only when all of the setting below is configured OK. It
needs to input new IP Address configured here in order to enter Web page
again if you restart this machine.
Restart is required every time when IP address information is changed.
Attention!
If any setting in Web pages are changed by you, you have to
click button on the top-right corner of each Web pages
in order to take effect.

Configuration of My Phone Number:
1. Click path on left column: HOME / Basic / System Config
2. Select Region ID of your country and click modify button. If your country is
not list in the selections, please input Country Code at next step by yourself.
3. Input Office or Home PSTN phone number to My Phone Number field.
4. Click Apply after phone number had been inputted (If you don’t fill in Phone
Number field, and this machine is connected to Internet, VODNET number
will be filled automatically.)

4. Configure Server Function
The parameter of Registrar Server and Proxy Server (figure shown below and next
page) is pre-configured and no configuration is required.
If you need to configure different parameter of Server for advanced application
purpose, or the setting is reset for some purpose, you can configure it by yourself
according to figure below and next page, also the Appendix C and the User Manual
in attached CD.

5. Configure SIP Extensions No.
Classify by the model you purchase, there are 12, 36 and 90 SIP Channel available.
Each Channel can be registered by one SIP device as an extension. SIP phone or
gateway that wants to register to this machine has to use the account and password
specified by this machine. This chapter tells you how to open SIP Extension No. For
the setting of Password, it will be described on advanced configuration.

The SIP Extension No. is pre-configured in advanced (shown on figure
below). You can click the path on left column: HOME / Channel /
Configuration and check the setting according each step
If you need to configure different SIP Extension No. or the setting is reset for
some purpose, you can configure it by yourself according to figure below,
also the Appendix B and Appendix C

6. Configure Prefix No. of Extensions (Prefix Map)
For the SIP Extensions that can dial to each other, you need to configure Prefix No. of
this machine. For Firmware 1.05 or above, this number is configured automatically if
Internet is connected, and you can skip this step.
Then click

Steps to configure Prefix No. of Extensions
1. Click path on left column: HOME / Advanced-MOSA /Prefix Map
2. Input 10 in Prefix field
3. In Phone Number field, please input the number of My Phone Number
(refer to Chapter 3). This number has to be complete number (country
code + area code + Phone number)
4. Select iPBX in Type field
5. Click Apply

7. Restart this machine
All parameter in above chapter has to execute restart in order to take effect.
Then click

Steps to restart this machine:
1. Click path on left column: HOME / Basic / System Config
2. Select Warm Restart in System Restart field
3. Click Apply
Resume your PC to original IP and Enter this web management interface by
new IP address assigned by Network Administrator described in [Chapter 3:
Configure IP and My Phone Number] if necessary after the system is
restarted.
Next, register SIP phone or gateway to this machine, and then you are able
to make calls. For SIP phone or gateway configuration, please refer to CD
path SIP Phone\ATA Manual or VODTEL Web

8. Verify SIP Extension Registration Status
User can check the registration status in this page. If the registration is fail, you are not able
to dial phone call.

1. Click path on left column: HOME / Advanced-SIP / Registrar
2. In Registered List field, check User and Contact URL column to see if
there is any registered record. It record is shown, that SIP device is
registered successfully.

9. How to Make a Call
9.1 Basic Dialing – Dialing between extension
Each SIP phone that registers to MOSA SIP Line is regarded as an extension. SIP
phone dial to each other is called Dialing Between Extensions. Dialing method: (Ext.
1011 dial to Ext. 1010)
1. Hook off and hear dial tone
2. Dial 1010 (hear ring back tone)
3. Ext. 1010 pick up phone (conversation start)
9.2 Advanced Dialing (1) – Dial to others in VODNET
VODNET is the VoIP network for MOSA Series Products.All MOSA Series Products
are designated an individual number. Each MOSA Series Products can dial to each
other. VODNET ID is shown on the bottom label of each machine
If you want to dial to VODNET by SIP phone via this machine, please check if the
NETMOSA LED on the front panel is ON. If it is ON, you are able to dial VODNET ID.
Method 1: One step dialing
1. Hook off (hear dial tone)
2. Dial ** + VODNET ID +#(hear ring back tone)
3. Dialed side picks up phone (conversation start)
Method 2: Two step dialing (If your SIP device is not able to dial * *, use this way)
1. Hook off (hear dial tone)
2. Dial 1234501 (hear dial tone)
3. Dial ** +VODNET ID +#(hear ring back tone)
4. Dialed side picks up phone (conversation start)
9.3 Advanced Dialing (2) –Dial from other MOSA Series Product to SIP Extension
Any device with VODNET No. can dial to the SIP extension of MOSA SIP Line
1. Hook off (hear dial tone)
2. Dial # * + VODNET ID of MOSA SIP Line + Channel No. (10~99)+ #
(hear ring back tone)
3. Dialed side picks up phone (conversation start)

9.4 Advanced Dialing (3) –Make PSTN call through ITSP
You can use the SIP extension registered on this machine to make long distance or
international call via ITSP provider.
Method 1: One Step Dialing
1. Hook off (hear dial tone)
2. Dial * * + PSTN No. + # (hear dial tone)
3. Dialed side picks up phone (conversation start)
Method 2: Two Step Dialing (If your SIP device is not able to dial * *, use this way)
1. Hook off (hear dial tone)
2. Dial 1234501 (hear dial tone)
3. Dial * * + PSTN No. + # (hear dial tone)
4. Dialed side picks up phone (conversation start)
