Preparing for Installation

1a. Tools recommended for installation:
- Screwdriver set - Socket set
- Torx set
1b. Find a suitable place for installation, preferably inside, to prevent the open connectors from getting
wet.
1c. Prepare an empty space to place the parts that you temporarily have to remove from your engine bay,
like the engine cover or other parts. Once installation is finished, this makes it easy to confirm visually
that all removed parts made their way back into the engine bay.
1d. Do not make any changes or modification to the iTronic Module, including changing the length
of the wiring harness
1e. Open the hood, make sure the ignition is switched off, then remove the key and close the doors.
Now wait 5 minutes before starting installation, this ensures the car has gone into sleep mode.

3.1 Windshield cover.
• Remove the windshield cover, shown in fig. 1.
3.2 Engine cover.
• Remove the engine cover by pulling it up.
No tools needed for this action.

• Remove both covers, shown in fig. 3.

3.4 ECU covers.
• Remove both ECU covers, shown in fig. 4.
3.5 Airbox.
• Disconnect the four connectors,
shown in fig. 5.1
• Disconnect the hose clamps from
the airbox and remove the airbox.
(fig. 5.2).

3.6 Strut tower brace.
• Remove both strut tower braces, shown in fig. 6.

3.8 Remove ECU.
• Remove the ECU, shown in fig. 8, for easy access.*
*Not necessary, makes the installation easier.

*Not necessary, but it makes the installation easier.
Don’t remove the ECU if its equipped with coolant lines,
but move it to the side.

3.9 Air intake snorkle.
• Remove both air intake snorkles, shown in fig. 9.1

3.10 Manifold pressure sensor.
• Disconnect the connector from the manifold pressure
sensor.
• Attach the manifold pressure sensor connector to the
iTronic wiring harness.
• Connect the iTronic wiring harness connector to the
manifold pressure sensor.

3.11 Chargepipe pressure sensor.
• Disconnect the connector from the chargepipe
pressure sensor.
• Attach the chargepipe pressure sensor connector to
the iTronic wiring harness.
• Connect the iTronic wiring harness connector to the
chargepipe pressure sensor.

3.12 CAN-bus connector.
The necessary CAN wires are yellow/white (high) and
yellow/black (low), and are located inside the wiring
loom of the first CAN-bus connector. (ECU from step
3.8) The wires are twisted in a pair.
The wires of the iTronic have the same colors, yellow/
white (high) and yellow/black (low), and should be
connected parallel on the existing CAN wires.
• Open the insulation of the wiring loom to reveal the
CAN-wires. Connect the high and low wire from the
CAN-bus to the iTronic wiring harness, using the red
clips* provided in the box.
The yellow/white wire = high
The yellow/black wire = low

3.13 Supply voltage.
• Remove the round nut of the supply voltage,
using a torx.
• Connect the red +wire from the iTronic wiring harness.
• Replace the round nut on the supply voltage, and
tighten sufficiently.

3.14 Ground.
• Remove the round nut of the ground point, using a
torx.
• Connect the black -wire from the iTronic wiring
harness.
• Replace the round nut on the ground point, and
tighten sufficiently.

3.15 Place the iTronic - Mount.
The mount is only necessary when the car is fitted
without a second battery. If there is a second
battery: place the iTronic on top of the battery, using
the velcro tape provided in the box.
• Place the iTronic on top of part 1 and fasten it with
the bolts and nuts provided in the box. (fig. 15.1)
• Connect part 2 of the mount to the car. (fig. 15.2)
• Connect part 1 of the mount with part 2, using the
bolts and nuts provided in the box. (fig. 15.1)

3.16 Place the iTronic.
• Connect the two main connectors from the wiring
harness to the iTronic.
The iTronic is installed:
• Secure the iTronic wiring harness using the tyraps
provided in the box. Make sure there is enough
clearance from hot or moving parts. • Reassemble
all the covers and ECU’s. Make sure they are properly
fastened.

After installation, the iTronic can be controlled using the steering wheel buttons. This chapter will describe
how to use the iTronic and the optional functions.
