charge battery
New batteries are not fully
charged. Plug the battery
charger into your phone and
an electrical outlet. Your phone
may take several seconds to
start charging the battery. The
phone shows
Charge Complete
when finished.
Tip: Motorola batteries have circuitry that protects the
battery from damage from overcharging.

Using certain features of your phone can quickly deplete
your battery’s charge, including
transferring and
listening to music, using the camera, replaying video
clips, and using Bluetooth® wireless connections.
To save battery life:
•
Adjust the backlight to turn off quickly.
• Turn off Bluetooth power when you are not
using it.

1 Open the memory card slot on the top of the phone.
2 With the gold
contacts up, slide the
card in and press until
it clicks.
3 Replace the cover.

lightly press it to release it
from the slot and carefully slide it out.
Caution: Do not remove your memory card while your
phone is using it or writing files to it.

Find it: s > mPhone Info > Storage Devices
1 Scroll to Memory Card-T-Flash and press Options .
2 Scroll to Format and press Select .
3 When prompted, press Yes to continue.

emergency calls
To call an emergency number :
Press keypad keys to enter the
emergency number, then
press
N to call it.
Your service provider programs one or more emergency
phone numbers (such as 911) that you can call under any
circumstances, even when your phone is locked.
Note: Emergency numbers vary by country. Your
phone's preprogrammed emergency number(s) may not
work in all locations. Sometimes an emergency call
cannot be placed due to network, environmental, or
interference issues.

To change ring volume
Find it: s > wSettings > Ring Styles
1 Select Style by pressing s .
2 Scroll to a ring style and press s .
To change ringtone
Find it: s > wSettings > Ring Styles
1 Scroll to Style Detail and press s .
2 Scroll to an alert type and press s .
3 Scroll to the desired detail setting and press s .
set phone to vibrate
Press and hold the side volume key down to switch to a
lower call alert volume, then vibrate, (or finally silent
alert).
Press and hold the volume key up to cycle back through
settings.

Note: Your phone may prompt you to search for songs. If
you have made changes to the memory card, select

Battery Tips
Battery life depends on the network, signal strength, temperature,
features, and accessories you use.
• Always use Motorola Original batteries and chargers.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by
non-Motorola batteries and/or chargers.
• New batteries or batteries stored for a long time may
take more time to charge.
• When charging your battery, keep it near room temperature.
• When storing your battery, keep it uncharged in a cool, dark, dry place.
• Never expose batteries to temperatures below -10°C (14°F) or above
45°C (113°F). Always take your phone with you when you leave your
vehicle.
• It is normal for batteries to gradually wear down and require longer
charging times. If you notice a change in your battery life, it is probably
time to purchase a new battery.
Contact your local recycling center for proper battery disposal.
Warning: Never dispose of batteries in a fire because they
may explode.
Before using your phone, read the battery safety information in the
“Safety and General Information” section.
