GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
This manual is intended for technically qualied and trained installers.
Mottura Serrature di Sicurezza S.p.A. thanks you for choosing this device and reminds you as follows:
- Read the instructions very carefully before installing or doing any maintenance on the device.
- All assembly and connection procedures must be done according to Rules of Good Engineering as well as in conformity to law.
- DO NOT install this device in explosive environments or atmospheres or in the presence of ammable fumes/gases.
- DO NOT install this device on a door with risk of contact with water or atmospheric agents unless the door is adequately protected.
- Always disconnect the power supply and isolate all parts before installing or during any maintenance on the device. Take all possible precautions to
eliminate the risk of electrical shock when during the installation and/or maintenance procedures described in this manual.
- Protect the battery charger before any work on the door that could produce scrap (welding, drilling, etc.) that might get into the charger and damage it.
- The installer must give these instructions and all maintenance instructions to the user.
- Keep these instructions for future use with sales receipt to validate the warranty.
- In case of problems, contact your authorized dealer only.

WARRANTY TERMS
This device has been inspected by Mottura Serrature di Sicurezza S.p.A. and is guaranteed against all manufacturing defects for the period dened by
Italian law; the period begins on the date of purchase as demonstrated by the sales receipt. The warranty is eective if the sales receipt, bearing infor-
mation identifying the device, is shown to the dealer or service personnel. The warranty covers the replacement or repair of parts found defective due
to faulty manufacture; shipping costs to and from service centers are charged to the customer.
In case of a repeated malfunction of the same origin or a malfunction that cannot be repaired, Mottura Serrature di Sicurezza S.p.A. may decide, in its
nal judgment, to replace the entire device. The warranty on the replacement device will continue to the expiration of the original device. If the device
must be serviced at the customer’s home, the customer is required to pay (if requested) a minimum charge to cover the transfer costs of authorized
service personnel.
Transport is at the customer’s risk if the customer ships the device, and at the service personnel’s risk if the device is picked up and transported by service
personnel.
LIMITS OF LIABILITY
The warranty does not cover damage deriving from:
- negligence, carelessness, or use other than as described below
- failure to protect the device before doing any procedure that may generate scrap or waste (welding, drilling of panels, drilling of structure, etc.) that
prevents its correct functioning
- maintenance work not conforming to these instructions or done by unauthorized personnel
- use of accessories/components that are not original Mottura products
- shipping of the device without the necessary precautions
- any circumstances not attributable to manufacturing defects.
Operating temperature: -10°C to +40°C.
In addition, Mottura Serrature di Sicurezza S.p.A. declines all liability for any harm to persons or damage to property deriving from failure to comply with
all of the instructions and warnings contained in this manual.

1 - INTRODUCTION
This charger is used to charge 6 rechargeable NiMH batteries ("D" size) with capacitance of 2200 mAh, to be used ONLY with Mottura XMODE M2.0 / F1.0
locks. Any other use is incorrect.
N.B. The wires are sized for installing the battery charger inside to the door.
2 - MECHANICAL FIXING OF DEVICE
Fix the battery charger on a DIN rail (EN 60715) (not supplied). Place the top of the case (TOP) on the rail and press until it clicks in place (black coupler
facing downward) at the bottom. To release it, simply press the black coupler down with a screwdriver to free the case.
3 - ELECTRICAL WIRING
The battery charger has 3 connectors:
X1 = 2-way to connect the power line supply (99.697) or power supply bypass (99.715)
X2 = 4-way to connect the battery charger wire (99.712) to the lock or to the external board
X3 = 3way to connect the battery case wire (99.703 or 99.704)
To make the connections, refer to your system’s wiring diagram in the lock installation manual.
Note: The connection with wires 99.715 and 99.967 is optional, depending on your system’s power supply wiring diagram.
Before powering the system, check that you have correctly connected the wires on the Mottura power line adapter (art. 99.683) or on the electric striker
if present (model XMODE F1.0 only). Make sure that you have respected polarity as described in the lock installation manual. Insert the rechargeable
batteries according to the polarity shown, then switch on the system.
When the system has been installed, you should let the batteries charge for at least 2 hours before running any programming and/or test procedures.

Attention: This battery charger must be used ONLY with rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. If you try to charge any
other type of battery (alkaline, etc.), you may generate an explosion and cause harm to people and/or damage properties.
When the product (battery charger and/or batteries) has ended its life cycle, do not throw it away with domestic waste. Use the proper collec-
tion and recycling containers. For information and advice, ask local authorities or your Mottura retailer.
