Learn about msignage LS15™

Installation and Startup
msignage LS15™ is a new full-function advertising multimedia
device that is suitable for various operating environments with its
power saving, stable, and high-efficiency hardware. It supports a
wide variety of highly flexible systems to allow different industries to
build complete and diversified electronic display boards easily and
quickly.
The msignage LS15™ system is directly built inside the device and
needs not be installed. Simply unpack the device and plug it in, and
you can use it right away!

Hardware Instruction
Despite its compact size, the fanless lightweight msignage LS15™
is capable of providing full function and expansion of different
connection ports. You can import and store up medium data for the
electronic display board with up to three USB ports and a 3-in-1
cardreader. The built-in wired/wireless networks also meet the
requirements for operation in various network environments.












Suggested Combination for the
Electronic Display Board
msignage LS15™ supports VESA industrial wall mount standards.
Due to the compact size and fanless design of msignage LS15™, it
is recommended to directly install msignage LS15™ at the back of
the LCD panel by using the enclosed VESA standard wall mount
accessories for the most flexible electronic display board
applications.

Learn About and Use the Remote
Control
Complex operations are not required for the setting and administration of
msignage LS15™. Press the [msi] login button on the enclosed wireless
remote control, the play screen will be immediately switched to the
administration login screen. Input the correct password and press the
[Selection] button on the remote control to login the system.

First-Time Use
Press the [Window] login button on
the remote control, the play screen
will be immediately switched to the
administration login screen. Input
the correct password and press the
[Selection] button on the remote
control to login the system.

After logging in the system successfully, the screen will display the options of
the main menu. Information about the options is given in the table below:

USB portable disks and portable hard disks are supported; the
integrated memory card slot supports memory cards such as
SD/SDHC, MemoryStick cards.
Program Editing
Choose built-in templates of the system to set the contents of its
blocks, add, modify, or remove programs freely.

Scheduling
Schedule programs freely by hour/minute and insert your favorite
program in real-time.
System Setup
Set and change the administration password, set the screen
resolution, system status, system backup, and timed startup/shutdown
here.
Exit
Exit the administration system and return to the play screen

Upload Data
The upload function provides uploading service for files in supported formats,
which can be categorized into four types:
Pictures
Movies
Flash files (animation)
Plain text files
Pictures
Photos or images. Pictures
include images that you design
or static and dynamic graphic
formats shot with a camera.
Movies
Supports various dynamic
movie formats, incluidng
various Codec formats such
as MPEG1/2 and MP4 (refer
to the annex list for a detailed
list of movie formats
supported)
Flash files (animation)
Supports flash files produced
or obtained online. Static and
dynamic flash files are both
supported (Interactive flash
files are not supported).

Text information of any
content can be displayed for
announcements, news, and

To import the above media contents to msignage LS15™, the user may
choose [Upload] on the main menu to synchornize the contents in the
database immediately.
When choosing the [Upload]
function, a prompt window
will pop up, reminding the
user to have the peripheral
storage device connected.
Click the [Continue] button on the device prompt screen for the device list
screen. The screen will display all peripheral storage devices detected and
supported by the system, allowing the user to choose the storage device to be
opened.
If the screen indicates that no device is detected, the user can press the
[Continue] button for detection again after reconnecting the peripheral storage
device. Once the device is successfully detected, the system will return to the
device selection list screen.

Choose a device to enter the file format menu,
where you can choose the file format to be
uploaded.
Choose among pictures, movies, flash files,
and plain text files the medium content that
you want to upload to msignage LS15™.
The screen will then list all medium files in the peripheral storage device that
belong to the category. In addition to file names, picture and image files can
also be previewed in the list. You can choose the file you want to upload in the
list and then press the [Selection] button to upload it. If there is no file that
belongs to the category, a prompt message will be displayed.

The upload confirmation screen
will be displayed prior to
uploading. You can return to the
file format selection screen. If
you choose to continue, the
upload operation will be
performed.
Once the upload operation is completed, an upload completion message will
be displayed. Press the [Continue] button to return to the file format selection
screen and select other formats of files to be uploaded.

Program Editing
Add a Program
Choose [Program Editing]
in the main menu screen to
enter the secondary menu
screen. Here, the user can
choose the built-in
templates of the system to
add, modify, and remove
programs. First, choose
[Add a program] and then
press the [Selection] button
on the remote control.
The screen will then display the template selection screen. Choose the
template you want to set and press the [Selection] button.

The system will then display the template block setup screen. The user can
press the left/right buttons on the remote control to choose the block to be set.
Press the [Selection] button to enter the setup screen of the each block. Once
all blocks are set, choose [Save As] to save the program or [Exit] to cancel and
return to the menu screen.
The blocks can be roughly divided into two types: the “picture, movie, and
others”block and the “scrolling text”block. The “picture, movie, and others”
block is a composite block in which the user can choose to set pictures,
movies, or other blocks. It should be noted that only one format (“picture”,
“movie”, or “others”) can be selected at one time. Also, the “movie”block and
the “others”block exclude each other. The “scrolling text”block is used to set
scrolling data, mostly plain text files.

To set the “picture, movie, and others”block,
press the [Selection] button on the block to
be set. The screen will then prompt you to
choose the block category. After choosing
the block category, press the [Selection]
button.
The screen will then display the block content setting screen. On the right is
the data selection area and on the left is the selected data area. Press the
left/right button to move the selection box, up/down button to turn the page.
The [+] button on the remote control is the selection button, press it and the
data will appear in the selected data area on the left; the [-] button is the
remove button, press it and the data in the selected data area will be removed.
One file will be removed once at a time, starting from the end forward. When
the setting is completed, press the [Selection] button to return to the block
setting selection screen.
Please refer to the above steps for the setting of other blocks.

Modify a Program
You can modify previously set program data in [Program Editing] -> [Modify a
program]. The screen will display the existing program data of the system.
Press the up/down button on the remote control to choose the program data to
be set and press the [Selection] button to modify the program data in
accordance with the procedures as those of [Add a program]. Choose [Return]
and then press the [Selection] button again to return to the previous page.
