Safety Symbols
This table depicts and describes safety symbols that may appear on this product. Read, understand and follow all instructions on the tractor before attempting to assemble and operate.

General Operation
1. Read, understand and follow all instructions on your equipment and in their manuals before
attempting to assemble and operate. Keep this manual in a safe place for future and regular
reference and for ordering replacement parts.
2. To help avoid blade contact or a thrown object injury, keep bystanders, helpers, children
and pets at least 75 feet from the tractor while it is in operation. Stop tractor if anyone
enters the area.
3. Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be used. Remove all stones, sticks,
wire, bones, toys and other foreign objects which could be picked up and thrown by the
blade(s). Thrown objects can cause serious personal injury.
4. Always wear safety glasses or safety goggles during operation and while performing an
adjustment or repair to protect your eyes. Thrown objects which ricochet can cause serious
injury to the eyes.
5. Do not operate the tractor without the discharge cover or entire grass catcher in its proper
place. A missing or damaged discharge cover or grass bag attachment component may result
in thrown objects or blade contact injuries.
6. Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts or under the cutting deck. Contact with the
blade(s) can amputate hands and feet.
7. Shut off tractor’s engine and wait for blades to come to a complete stop before unclogging
tractor’s discharge opening or bagger parts.
8. Slow down before turning. Operate the tractor smoothly. Avoid erratic operation and
excessive speed. Be aware that a grass catcher attachment can affect the handling
characteristics of your tractor.
9. Disengage blade(s), set parking brake, stop engine and wait until the blade(s) come to a
complete stop before opening bagger attachment’s top cover, removing grass catcher,
emptying grass, unclogging chute, removing any grass or debris or making any adjustments.
Never leave a running tractor unattended. Always turn off blade(s), place transmission in
neutral, set parking brake, stop engine and remove key before dismounting.
10. Your tractor is designed to cut normal residential grass. Do not attempt to mow through
unusually tall, dry grass (e.g., pasture) or piles of dry leaves. Dry grass or leaves may contact
the engine exhaust and/or build up on the tractor deck presenting a potential fire hazard.
11. If situations occur which are not covered in this manual, use care and good judgment.
Contact your customer service representative for assistance.
Slope Operation
Slopes are a major factor related to loss of control and tip-over accidents which can result in severe
injury or death. Attachments can also affect the stability of the tractor. All slopes require extra
caution.
For your safety, use the slope gauge included as part of this manual to estimate the angle of slopes
before operating this tractor on a sloped or hilly area. If the slope is greater than 10 degrees or 17
percent as shown on the slope gauge, do not operate the tractor with the grass bag attachment
installed on that area or serious injury could result.
Do:
1. Mow up and down slopes, not across. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction
on slopes.
2. Watch for holes, ruts, bumps, rocks or other hidden objects. Uneven terrain could overturn
the tractor. Tall grass can hide obstacles.
3. Use slow speed. Choose a low enough speed setting so that you will not have to stop or shift
while on the slope. Tires may lose traction on slopes even though the brakes are functioning
properly. Always keep tractor in gear when going down slopes to take advantage of engine
braking action.
4. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for wheel weights or counterweights to
improve stability. Keep all movement on the slopes slow and gradual. Do not make sudden
changes in speed or direction. Rapid engagement or braking could cause the front of the
tractor to lift and rapidly flip over backwards which could cause serious injury.
5. Avoid starting or stopping on a slope. If tires lose traction, disengage the blade(s) and
proceed slowly straight down the slope.
Do Not:
1. Do not turn on slopes unless necessary; then, turn slowly and gradually downhill, if possible.
2. Do not mow near drop-offs, ditches or embankments. The tractor could suddenly turn over if
a wheel is over the edge of a cliff, ditch or if an edge caves in.
3. Do not try to stabilize the tractor by putting your foot on the ground.
4. Do not use a grass catcher on steep slopes.
5. Do not mow on wet grass. Reduced traction could cause sliding.
General Service
1. Before cleaning, repairing or inspecting, make certain the blade(s) and all moving parts
have stopped. Disconnect the spark plug wire and ground against the engine to prevent
unintended starting.
2. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
3. Never tamper with your tractor’s safety interlock system or other safety devices. Check their
proper operation regularly.
4. Never attempt to make adjustments or repairs while the tractor’s engine is running.
5. Grass catcher components and the discharge cover are subject to wear and damage which
could expose moving parts or allow objects to be thrown. For safety protection, frequently
check components and replace immediately with original equipment manufacturer’s
(O.E.M.) parts only, listed in this manual. Use of parts which do not meet the original
equipment specifications may lead to improper performance and compromise safety!
6. Maintain or replace safety and instruction labels, as necessary.

IF A SLOPE IS TOO STEEP FOR SAFE OPERATION!
To check the slope, proceed as follows: 1. Remove this page and fold along the dashed line. 2. Locate a vertical object on or behind the slope (e.g. a pole, building, fence, tree, etc.) 3. Align either side of the slope gauge with the object (See Figure 1 and Figure 2 ). 4. Adjust gauge up or down until the left corner touches the slope (See Figure 1 and Figure 2). 5. If there is a gap below the gauge, the slope is too steep for safe operation (See Figure 2 above).

All slopes require extra caution. If you cannot back up the slope or if you feel uneasy on it, do not mow it. Always mow up and down slopes, never across the face of slopes.

Thank you for purchasing a bagging attachment. It was carefully engineered to provide excellent performance when properly operated and maintained.
Please read this entire manual prior to operating the equipment. It instructs you how to safely and easily set up, operate and maintain your equipment. Please be sure that you, and any other persons who will
operate the machine, carefully follow the recommended safety practices at all times. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or property damage.
All information in this manual is relative to the most recent product information available at the time of printing. Review this manual frequently to familiarize yourself with the equipment, its features and
operation. Please be aware that this Operator’s Manual may cover a range of product specifications for various models. Characteristics and features discussed and/or illustrated in this manual may not be
applicable to all models. We reserve the right to change product specifications, designs and equipment without notice and without incurring obligation.

Throughout this manual, all references to right and left side of the machine are observed from the operating position.

Before beginning installation, remove all parts from the carton to make sure everything is present. Carton contents are listed below and shown in Figure 1. The hardware
pack(s) included in this kit are detailed at the end of this section.

Required Tools
• 7/16” Socket Wrench (2)
• 1/2” Socket Wrench
Mounting LT-5 Bracket Assembly
NOTE: References to left, right, front and rear of the tractor are from the operator’s position,
unless otherwise stated.
• Before assembly, place the tractor on a firm, level surface, disengage the
PTO, stop the tractor engine and set the parking brake.
• For convenience, pivot seat forward and leave it in that position until the
grass collector is fully mounted and assembled.
To install LT-5 brackets, follow these steps:
1. If not already installed by the
factory, install a shoulder bolt
from the hardware pack on
each bracket, securing them
with flange lock nuts also
included in the LT-5 Bracket
Assembly (689-00086A)
hardware pack. Refer to
Figure 2.
2. If already installed in
the brackets, remove
the clevis pins and
clips, retain for later
instructions. Refer to
Figure 2.
3. Mount the mounting
brackets to your tractor
using four self-tapping
hex screws included with
your kit. See Figure 3.
Assemble Mounting Brackets
To assemble the universal mounting assembly, locate the rider hitch bracket
assembly (689-00304A) and the universal support bracket (783-08129) and follow
these steps:
1. Attach the two hitch side
brackets to the rear support
bracket (rider hitch bracket
assembly 689-00304A) using
two carriage bolts (710-0276)
and wing knobs (720-04122)
from hardware pack 689-
02364. See Figure 4.
NOTE: Hooks on side brackets
should point downwards and
tabs on rear support bracket
point upwards as shown in
Figure 4.
2. Flip over assembly and mount hitch
support bracket to universal support
bracket (783-08129) using two carriage
bolts (710-0276) and wing knobs
(720-04122) from hardware pack 689-
02364, as shown in Figure 5.
NOTE: It might be easier during the
mounting stage to leave this hardware
only finger tight to facilitate lining up the
hitch hole for the clevis pin. You will be
instructed to tighten this hardware later in
this manual.
Mount Assembly on Tractor
Install mounting assembly on tractor as follows:
1. Place hooked ends of
mounting assembly over
shoulder bolts on LT-5
brackets previously installed
on back of tractor frame, as
shown in Figure 6, and line
up hitch support bracket
center hole with hole on the
tractor’s hitch.
2. Replace clevis pins and cotter
pins removed in Mounting
LT-5 Bracket Assembly
section. See Figure 2.
3. Install the clevis
pin (711-0309A)
from hardware pack
689-02364 into the
tractor’s hitch and
secure with cotter
pin (714-0117). See
Figure 7.
NOTE: The clevis pin can
be fed down through
the hitch plate and
secured underneath
with the cotter pin, or it may be easier to feed the clevis pin up through the hitch
plate hole and secure with the cotter pin on the topside. Insert the cotter pin into the
top hole, closest to the head of the pin. You may need to push up on the pin to make
the hole accessible.
IMPORTANT! If you decided to leave the hitch support only finger tight during the
assembly process, tighten all of the hardware securely at this time.

Install the Vertical Bagger Support
1. Install the vertical
bagger support (683-
04519C) onto the
mounting assembly
on the tractor by
hooking it over the
cross mounting
bracket. See Figure 8.
2. Align the vertical
bagger support with
the hole labeled “C”.
See inset in Figure 8.
3. Secure the vertical bagger support
to the cross mounting bracket
using a carriage bolt (710-0276)
and wing knob (720-04122)
from hardware pack 689-
02364. See Figure 9.
NOTE: Position “C” is the
recommended mounting
position, but you may use
other mounting positions
to accommodate other
attachments.
Install Hanger
Assembly
1. Install and secure the hanger
assembly (683-04461C) onto
the vertical bagger support
using two carriage bolts
(710-0276), two cup washers
(736-0242) and two flange
lock nuts (712-04063) from
hardware pack 689-02364.

NOTE: Concave curve of cup
washer should be facing hanger assembly.
Assembling Remaining Bagger Components
With the mounting brackets assembled and in place on the tractor, follow these
steps to assemble the remaining
bagger components.
1. Snap the upper chute
support (731-17091) in place
by first clipping the side
portion onto the hanger
assembly rail (1), as shown
in Figure 11.
2. Snap the front side of the
upper chute support to the
rail (2), as shown in Figure 11.
3. If not already done so by the
factory, install the bagger
screen (731-06504) into the
bagger cover (631-04292) by
first inserting the end closest
to the side with the cutout (1)
into the mounting hole, as in
Figure 12.
4. Make sure to feed the screen
under the lip. Clip in the other
side by pushing the screen into
the provided cutout (2). See
Figure 13.
5. Install the bagger cover onto
the hanger assembly, as seen in
Figure 14. The cover goes inside
the two mounting tabs.
6. Slide the hinge pin (711-04988)
into the hole located on the
mounting tab, as shown in
Figure 15. Use the cut-out
window (see inset in Figure 15) to
line up the hinge pin on the other
side and push pin all the way in
until it reaches the end-stop. At
this point the pin clips into place
and is secured by a tab in the
bagger cover. See Figure 16.
7. If not already flipped forward, flip
seat forward to allow for bag and
upper tube assembly steps.
8. Open bagger cover by
pushing in on the rear, right-
side tab with your right hand
(1), and lifting the cover with
your left hand in the center
rear of the bagger cover (2) as
shown in Figure 17.

9. Install both grass bag
assemblies (664-05104)
onto the hanger assembly
rail by inserting the front
edge in first (1), as shown
in Figure 18, and setting
the back edge down until it
fits into the assembly (2).
Installing the Boot
Rod, Bracket &
Hardware
1. From the outside of the
boot, align mounting rod (747-
09890) and two hex head
screws (710-3015) with the
holes at the bottom front of
the boot and secure from the
inside of the boot with two flat
washers (1751) and two flange
lock nuts (712-04064) from
hardware pack 689-02579. See
(1) in Figure 19.
NOTE: Make sure the rod is facing
out from the boot.
2. From the outside of the boot, align the boot bracket (783-11968) and two
hex head screws (710-3015) with the holes on top of the boot and secure
from the inside with two flat washers (1751) and two flange lock nuts (712-
04064) from hardware pack 689-02579. See (2) in Figure 19.
3. Using a 7/16” wrench or socket on the screw and a 7/16” box wrench on the
lock nuts, tighten down so flange is flush to secure the assemblies.
Installing the Boot
1. Place deck in lowest position.
2. Remove wing knob holding mulch
plug closed on deck.
3. With the tractor’s mulch plug
raised up and held open (1), install
the boot (731-20072) by placing
the boot mounting rod into the
hole provided in either your deck
wheel bracket or boot mounting
tab (2), as shown in Figure 20.
4. Secure the boot to the deck by
using a wing knob (720-04122)
from hardware pack 689-02364.
See Figure 21.
5. Release the mulch plug, making
sure to rest it on the boot bracket
previously installed on the boot.
See Figure 20.
IMPORTANT! Be certain that the bottom
of the discharge chute is located inside of
the lip of the deck opening, as shown in
Figure 22.
Installing the Hose
1. Thread the upper end of the hose
(764-05082) securely into the
upper chute support. There are
three stops on the lower inside
part of the upper chute support
to allow for secure threading. See
Figure 23.
NOTE: The hose and upper chute
support are left-hand threaded.
Thread counterclockwise until secure.
2. Slide the hose over the boot
mounted on the cutting deck, as
shown in Figure 24.
3. Make sure the connection is secure
and there are no gaps between the
hose and the boot.
4. If open, close the grass
catcher cover prior to
mowing.

Bagger Usage
NOTE: To ensure longevity and reliable performance do not allow grass bags to fill over the
edge of the rim before emptying.
NOTE: When both grass bags are full, place the tractor on a firm, level surface, disengage the
PTO, turn the tractor engine off and set the parking brake.
1. Flip seat up.
2. Open the bagger cover by pushing in on the rear, right-side tab with your
right hand, as seen in (1) of Figure 25, and lifting the cover with your left
hand in the center rear of the bagger cover (2). Do not remove the hose
assembly from the tractor.
3. Remove the grass bags by lifting up, (1) in Figure 26, and moving the bags
away from the bag support assembly (2).
4. Empty the grass clippings at a proper disposal site, use the handle at the
bottom of each grass bag. Holding the bag firmly, empty the contents.
5. Replace the grass bags in the reverse order. Close the lid, pivot the seat
down, restart your tractor and resume cutting your grass.
NOTE: Retighten all wing knobs periodically throughout the season.

MANUFACTURER’S LIMITED WARRANTY FOR
GDOC-100167 REV. A
The limited warranty set forth below is given by MTD LLC with
respect to new merchandise purchased and used in the United
States and/or its territories and possessions, and by MTD Products
Limited with respect to new merchandise purchased and used
in Canada and/or its territories and possessions (either entity
respectively, “MTD”).
“MTD” warrants this product (excluding its Normal Wear Parts and
Attachments as described below) against defects in material and
workmanship for a period of one (1) year commencing on the date
of original purchase and will, at its option, repair or replace, free of
charge, any part found to be defective in materials or workmanship.
This limited warranty shall only apply if this product has been
operated and maintained in accordance with the Operator’s Manual
furnished with the product, and has not been subject to misuse,
abuse, commercial use, neglect, accident, improper maintenance,
alteration, vandalism, theft, fire, water, or damage because of other
peril or natural disaster. Damage resulting from the installation or
use of any part, accessory or attachment not approved by MTD
for use with the product(s) covered by this manual will void your
warranty as to any resulting damage.
Normal Wear Parts are warranted to be free from defects in material
and workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of
purchase. Normal wear parts include, but are not limited to items
such as: batteries, belts, blades, blade adapters, tines, grass bags,
wheels, rider deck wheels, seats, snow thrower skid shoes, friction
wheels, shave plates, auger spiral rubber and tires.
Attachments — MTD warrants attachments for this product against
defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year,
commencing on the date of the attachment’s original purchase or
lease. Attachments include, but are not limited to items such as:
grass collectors and mulch kits.
HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE: Warranty service is available, WITH
PROOF OF PURCHASE, through your local authorized service dealer.

This limited warranty does not provide coverage in the following
cases:
a. Log splitter pumps, valves, and cylinders have a separate
one- year warranty.
b. Routine maintenance items such as lubricants, filters, blade
sharpening, tune-ups, brake adjustments, clutch adjustments,
deck adjustments, and normal deterioration of the exterior
finish due to use or exposure.
c. Service completed by someone other than an authorized
service dealer.
d. MTD does not extend any warranty for products sold or
exported outside of the United States and/or Canada, and
their respective possessions and territories, except those sold
through MTD’s authorized channels of export distribution.
e. Replacement parts that are not genuine MTD parts.
f. Transportation charges and service calls.
g. MTD does not warrant this product for commercial use.
No implied warranty, including any implied warranty of
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, applies
after the applicable period of express written warranty above
as to the parts as identified. No other express warranty,
whether written or oral, except as mentioned above, given
by any person or entity, including a dealer or retailer, with
respect to any product, shall bind MTD. During the period of
the warranty, the exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of
the product as set forth above.
The provisions as set forth in this warranty provide the sole
and exclusive remedy arising from the sale. MTD shall not
be liable for incidental or consequential loss or damage
including, without limitation, expenses incurred for substitute
or replacement lawn care services or for rental expenses to
temporarily replace a warranted product.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied
warranty lasts, so the above exclusions or limitations may not apply
to you.
In no event shall recovery of any kind be greater than the amount
of the purchase price of the product sold. Alteration of safety
features of the product shall void this warranty. You assume the
risk and liability for loss, damage, or injury to you and your property
and/or to others and their property arising out of the misuse or
inability to use the product.
This limited warranty shall not extend to anyone other than the
original purchaser or to the person for whom it was purchased as a
gift.
HOW STATE LAW RELATES TO THIS WARRANTY: This limited
warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have
other rights which vary from state to state.

to obtain warranty coverage.

Funcionamiento general
1. Lea, comprenda y respete todas las instrucciones que figuran en el equipo y en los manuales antes de
intentar armarlo y hacerlo funcionar. Guarde este manual en un lugar seguro para consultas futuras y
periódicas, así como para solicitar repuestos.
2. Para ayudar a evitar una lesión por contacto con las cuchillas o con un objeto que sea arrojado,
mantenga a los observadores, a los ayudantes, a niños y mascotas alejados a no menos de 75 pies de la
cortadora mientras está funcionando. Pare la tractora si alguien ingresa a la zona.
3. Revise minuciosamente el área donde se va a usar el equipo. Saque todas las piedras, palos, cables,
huesos, juguetes y demás objetos extraños que puedan ser recogidos y arrojados por las cuchilla(s). Los
objetos arrojados por la tractora pueden producir lesiones personales graves.
4. Para protegerse los ojos, utilice siempre anteojos o antiparras de seguridad durante la operación o
mientras realiza ajustes o reparaciones. Los objetos arrojados que rebotan pueden producir lesiones
graves en los ojos.
5. Nunca opere la cortadora de césped si no está bien colocada la cubierta de descarga o el colector de
césped completo. Si falta la cubierta de descarga o está dañada o un componente del accesorio de
embolsadora falta, se pueden producir lesiones por contacto con la cuchilla o con objetos arrojados.
6. No ponga las manos ni los pies cerca de las piezas rotatorias ni debajo de la plataforma de corte. El
contacto con las cuchilla(s) puede amputar manos y pies.
7. Apague el motor de la cortadora de césped y espere que las cuchillas se detengan totalmente antes de
desbloquear la abertura de descarga de la cortadora o las piezas de la embolsadora.
8. Reduzca la velocidad antes de girar. Haga funcionar la tractora de manera uniforme. Evite que funcione
de manera errática y a excesiva velocidad. Tenga en cuenta que el accesorio colector de césped puede
afectar las características de manejo de su cortadora.
9. Desenganche la o las cuchilla(s), coloque el freno de mano, detenga el motor y espere hasta que las
cuchillas se detengan totalmente antes de abrir la cubierta superior del accesorio embolsador, sacar
el colector de césped, vaciar los recortes, desbloquear el canal, retirar cualquier residuo o desecho
o realizar cualquier ajuste. Nunca deje la tractora encendida sin atención. Siempre desconecte las
cuchillas, ponga la transmisión en punto muerto, ponga el freno de mano, detenga el motor y retire la
llave antes de bajarse del vehículo.
10. Su tractora está diseñada para cortar césped residencial normal. No intente cortar césped demasiado
crecido, seco (como un pastizal) ni pilas de hojas secas. El césped o las hojas secas pueden entrar en
contacto con el escape del motor y/o acumularse en la plataforma de corte presentando un potencial
peligro de incendio.
11. Si se presentan situaciones que no están previstas en este manual, tenga cuidado y use el sentido
común. Póngase en contacto con su representante de atención al cliente para obtener ayuda.
Operación en pendientes
Las pendientes son un factor importante en los accidentes ocasionados por pérdida de control y vuelcos que
pueden causar lesiones graves e incluso la muerte. Los accesorios también pueden afectar la estabilidad de la
tractora. Todas las pendientes requieren precaución extra.
Para su seguridad, use el medidor de pendientes que se incluye como parte de este manual para calcular el
ángulo de las pendientes antes de hacer funcionar la tractora en una zona accidentada. Si la pendiente aparece
como mayor de 10 grados o 17 porcentaje en el medidor, no haga funcionar la cortadora con el accesorio para
bolsas de césped en ese sector, pues podría causar lesiones graves.
Si:
1. Corte hacia arriba y abajo de las pendientes, no en forma transversal. Tenga sumo cuidado al cambiar
de dirección en una pendiente.
2. Esté atento a los hoyos, surcos, baches, rocas, u otros objetos ocultos. El terreno desnivelado puede
voltear la tractora. El césped alto puede ocultar obstáculos.
3. Conduzca a baja velocidad. Seleccione una velocidad lo suficientemente baja como para que no necesite
detenerse o cambiar de marcha estando en pendiente. Los neumáticos pueden perder tracción en las
pendientes aun cuando los frenos funcionen correctamente. Siempre mantenga la tractora en cambio
mientras desciende una pendiente para poder frenar con el motor.
4. Siga las recomendaciones del fabricante sobre los pesos o contrapesos de las ruedas para mejorar la
estabilidad. Haga que todos los movimientos en las pendientes sean lentos y graduales. No realice
cambios bruscos de velocidad o dirección. Hacer un cambio o frenar repentinamente puede hacer que el
frente de la tractora se levante y vuelque rápidamente hacia atrás dando lugar a lesiones graves.
5. Evite arrancar o detenerse en una pendiente. Si las ruedas pierden tracción, desacople las cuchillas y
descienda la pendiente lentamente.
No:
1. No gire en pendiente a menos que sea necesario; si lo hace, gire lenta y gradualmente cuesta abajo, si
es posible.
2. No corte el césped cerca de barrancos, zanjas o terraplenes. La cortadora puede volcarse
repentinamente si una de las ruedas pasa el borde de un acantilado o zanja o si se desmorona un borde.
3. No intente estabilizar la tractora poniendo el pie en el suelo.
4. No utilice colector de césped en pendientes empinadas.
5. No corte el césped húmedo. La falta de tracción puede hacer que patine.
Servicio general
1. Antes de limpiar, reparar o inspeccionar la tractora, compruebe que la(s) cuchilla(s) y todas las piezas
móviles se hayan detenido. Desconecte el cable de la bujía y póngalo haciendo tierra contra el motor
para evitar que se encienda accidentalmente.
2. Mantenga todos los pernos, tuercas y tornillos bien ajustados para asegurarse que la tractora se
encuentra en condiciones seguras de operación.
3. Nunca intente violar el sistema de bloqueo de seguridad u otros mecanismos de seguridad de la
cortadora. Compruebe regularmente que estos elementos funcionen correctamente.
4. No intente nunca hacer ajustes o reparaciones a la cortadora mientras el motor está en marcha.
5. Los componentes del colector de césped y la cubierta de descarga están sujetos a desgaste y daños
que podrían dejar expuestas piezas que se mueven o permitir que se arrojen objetos. Para proteger su
seguridad, verifique frecuentemente los componentes y reemplácelos inmediatamente por piezas del
fabricante del equipo original (O.E.M.) solamente que se indican en este manual. El uso de piezas que
no cumplen con las especificaciones del equipo original puede resultar en rendimiento inadecuado y
puede poner en peligro la ¡seguridad!

Herramientas requeridas

Montaje del conjunto de soporte LT-5
NOTA: Las referencias a la izquierda, derecha, parte delantera y trasera del tractor están desde la
posición del operador, salvo indicación en contrario.
• Antes de armar, coloque el tractor sobre una superficie firme y nivelada, desenganche
la toma de fuerza PTO, detenga el motor del tractor y coloque el freno de mano.
• Para mayor comodidad, rote el asiento hacia adelante y déjelo en esa posición hasta
que el colector de césped esté totalmente armado y montado.
Para instalar los soportes LT-5, siga estos pasos:
1. Si no se instaló ya de fábrica,
instale un perno con reborde de
su paquete de herrajes en cada
soporte, asegurándolo con las
tuercas de seguridad con brida
que también se incluyeron en el
paquete de herrajes del
conjunto del soporte (689-
00086A). Consulte la Figura 2.
2. Si ya está instalado en los
soportes, retire los pasadores
de las horquillas y los clips,
guárdelos para instrucciones
posteriores. Consulte la
Figura 2.
3. Monte las ménsulas de
soporte del tractor serie
700 a su tractor con cuatro
tornillos hexagonales
autorroscantes incluidos en
el kit. Consulte la Figura 3.
Arme las ménsulas de
soporte
Para ensamblar el conjunto de montaje de la embolsadora, ubique el conjunto de soporte
de enganche del tractor (689-00304A) y la ménsula de soporte universal (783-08129) y siga
estos pasos:
1. Sujete los dos soportes
laterales de enganche a la
ménsula de soporte trasera
(conjunto de soporte de
enganche del tractor 689-
00304A) utilizando los dos
pernos de carro (710-0276)
y las perillas de aleta (720-
04122) del paquete de herrajes
689-02364.
NOTA: Los ganchos de los soportes
laterales deben apuntar hacia
abajo y las lengüetas de la ménsula
de soporte trasera hacia arriba
como se muestra en la Figura 4.
2. Dé vuelta el conjunto y monte la ménsula de
soporte del enganche a la ménsula de soporte
universal (783-08129) usando dos pernos de
carro (710-0276) y las perillas de aleta (720-
04122) del paquete de herrajes 689-02364, como
se indica en la Figura 5.
NOTA: Durante la etapa de montaje podría resultar
más fácil dejar este herraje ajustado solo a mano para
facilitar el alineamiento del orificio de enganche para
el pasador de horquilla. Más adelante en el manual se
le indicará que ajuste este herraje.
Monte el conjunto en el tractor
Instale el conjunto de montaje en el tractor de la siguiente manera:
1. Coloque los extremos con
gancho del conjunto de montaje
sobre los pernos con reborde de
las ménsulas LT-5 instalados
previamente en la parte
posterior del bastidor del
tractor, como se muestra en la
Figura 6, y alinee el orificio
central de la ménsula de soporte
de enganche con el orificio del
enganche del tractor.
2. Reemplace los pasadores de
horquilla y los pasadores de
chaveta retirados en la sección
Montaje del soporte
LT-5. Vea la Figura 2.
3. Instale el pasador de
horquilla (711-0309A)
del paquete de herrajes
689-02364 en el
enganche del tractor y
fije con un sujetador de
horquilla (714-0117).
Consulte la Figura 7.
NOTA: El pasador de
horquilla se puede pasar
hacia abajo por la placa de
enganche y asegurarlo por
abajo con el sujetador de
horquilla; o puede resultar
más fácil pasar el pasador de horquilla hacia arriba por el orificio de la placa de enganche y
fijar con el sujetador de horquilla en la parte superior. Inserte el sujetador de horquilla en el
orificio superior, más cercano a la cabeza del pasador. Quizás tenga que empujar hacia arriba el
pasador para que se pueda acceder al orificio.
IMPORTANTE! Si decidió dejar el soporte de enganche ajustado solo manualmente durante
el proceso de montaje, ajuste firmemente todos los demás herrajes en este momento.

Instale el conjunto
de colgador
1. Coloque y sujete el conjunto
del colgador (683-04461C)
en el soporte vertical de la
embolsadora usando dos
pernos de carro (710-0276), dos
arandelas de cubeta (736-0242)
y dos tuercas de seguridad con
brida (712-04063) del paquete
de herrajes 689-02364. Consulte
la Figura 10.
NOTA: La curva cóncava de la
arandela de copa debe estar frente
al conjunto del colgador.
Montaje del resto de los componentes de la embolsadora
Con los soportes de montaje ensamblados y ubicados en el tractor, siga estos pasos para
ensamblar el resto de los componentes de la embolsadora.
1. Coloque a presión el soporte
del canal superior (731-17091
en su lugar primero cortando la
porción lateral hacia el riel de
soporte de la embolsadora (1)
como se indica en la Figura 11.
2. Coloque a presión el lado
delantero del soporte del canal
superior al riel (2), como se
muestra en la Figura 11.
3. Si aún no lo ha hecho la fábrica,
instale la rejilla del ensacador
(731-06504) en la tapa del
ensacador (631-04292) insertando
primero el extremo más cercano al
lado con el recorte (1) en el orificio
de montaje, tal como se indica en
la Figura 12.
4. Asegúrese de alimentar la pantalla
debajo del labio. Enganche el otro
lado empujando la pantalla en el
recorte previsto (2). Ver Figura 13.
5. Instale la cubierta de la
embolsadora en el conjunto de
soporte de la bolsa, como se ve en
la Figura 14. La cubierta va dentro
de las dos lengüetas de montaje.
6. Deslice el pasador de horquilla
(711-04988) en el orificio ubicado
en la lengüeta de montaje, como
se indica en la Figura 15. Use las
ventanas caladas (vea el recuadro
de la Figura 15) para alinear el
pasador de horquilla del otro lado
y empújelo completamente hasta
que llegue al tope. En este punto el
pasador calza en su posición y queda
asegurado por una lengüeta en la
cubierta de la embolsadora. Consulte
la Figura 16.
7. Si todavía no se dio vuelta hacia
adelante, voltee el asiento hacia
adelante para que la bolsa y la unidad
de tubo superior se muevan.
8. Abra la cubierta de la embolsadora
empujando hacia adentro la lengüeta
posterior derecha con la mano derecha
(1), y levantando la cubierta con la
mano izquierda en el centro de
la parte posterior de la cubierta
de la embolsadora (2) como se
ve en la Figura 17.

9. Coloque ambos conjuntos
de bolsas para césped (664-
05104) en el riel del conjunto
del colgador insertando
primero el borde delantero
(1), como se muestra en la
Figura 18, y luego bajando el
borde posterior hasta que
calce en el conjunto (2).
Instalación de la varilla
del maletero, el
soporte y los herrajes
1. Desde afuera del maletero,
alinee la varilla de montaje (747-
09890) y dos tornillos de cabeza
hexagonal (710-3015) con los
orificios del frente de la base y
sujete desde el interior del
maletero con dos arandelas planas
(1751) y dos tuercas de seguridad
con brida (712-04064) del paquete
de herrajes 689-02579. Consulte
(1) en la Figura 19.
NOTA: Verifique que la varilla mire
hacia afuera del maletero.
2. Desde afuera del maletero, alinee
la varilla del maletero (783-11968)
y dos tornillos de cabeza hexagonal (710-3015) con los orificios en la parte superior
del maletero y sujete desde el interior con dos arandelas planas (1751) y dos tuercas
de seguridad con brida (712-04064) del paquete de herrajes 689-02579. Consulte (2)
en la Figura 19.
3. Ajuste usando una llave o manguito de 7/16” para el tornillo y una llave de tubo de
7/16” para las tuercas de seguridad, de manera que la brida esté alineada para
asegurar los montajes.
Instalación del maletero
1. Coloque la cubierta en la posición
más baja.
2. Retire la perilla de ala que sostiene
el tapón para abono cerrado en la
cubierta.
3. Con el tapón para abono del tractor
elevado y abierto (1), instale el
maletero (731-20072) colocando la
varilla de montaje del maletero en el
orificio proporcionado en el soporte
de la rueda de su plataforma o la
lengüeta de montaje del maletero (2),
como se indica en la Figura 20.
4. Fije el maletero a la plataforma con
la perilla de aletas (720-04122) del
paquete de herrajes 689-02364.
Consulte la Figura 21.
5. Suelte el tapón para abono,
asegurándose de apoyarlo sobre el
soporte del maletero que se instaló
previamente en el codo del canal.
Consulte la Figura 20.
¡IMPORTANTE! Asegúrese de que la parte
inferior del canal de descarga está ubicado
dentro del borde de la abertura de plataforma,
como se muestra en la Figura 22.
Instalación de la
manguera
1. Enrosque el extremo superior de la
manguera (764-05082)
firmemente en el soporte del canal
superior. Hay tres topes en la parte
interior baja del soporte del canal
superior que permiten un enrosque
seguro. Consulte la Figura 23.
NOTA: La manguera y el soporte del
canal superior se enroscan hacia la
izquierda. Enrosque en sentido contrario
a las agujas del reloj hasta asegurarlo.
2. Deslice la manguera sobre el maletero
montado en la plataforma de corte,
como se ilustra en la Figura 24.
3. Asegúrese de que la conexión sea
segura y de que no haya espacios entre
la manguera y el maletero.
4. Si está abierta, cierre la
cubierta del colector de césped,
previo al corte de césped.

Uso de la embolsadora
NOTA: A fin de asegurar una vida útil prolongada y un rendimiento confiable, no permita
que las bolsas colectoras de césped se llenen por encima del borde antes de vaciarlas.
NOTA: Cuando las dos bolsas colectoras de césped estén llenas, coloque el tractor sobre
una superficie firme y nivelada, desembrague la toma de fuerza (PTO), apague el motor del
tractor y coloque el freno de mano.
1. Voltee el asiento hacia arriba.
2. Abra la cubierta de la embolsadora oprimiendo hacia adentro la lengüeta
posterior derecha con la mano derecha, como se ve en (1) de la Figura 25,
y levantando la cubierta con la mano izquierda en el centro de la parte
posterior de la cubierta de la embolsadora (2). No extraiga del tractor el
conjunto de manguera.
3. Retire las bolsas de césped, levantándolas (1) en la Figura 26, y separándolas
del conjunto de soporte de las bolsas (2).
4. Vacíe los recortes de césped en un predio de disposición adecuado, use la
manija de abajo de cada bolsa de césped. Para vaciar el contenido sostenga
firmemente la bolsa.
5. Reemplace las bolsas para césped en el orden inverso. Cierre la tapa, gire el
asiento hacia abajo, reinicie su tractor y retome el corte de césped.
NOTA: Reajuste todas las perillas de aleta periódicamente a lo largo de la temporada.

GARANTÍA LIMITADA DEL FABRICANTE PARA

La siguiente garantía limitada es otorgada por MTD LLC con respecto
a nuevos productos adquiridos y utilizados en Estados Unidosy/o sus
territorios y posesiones, y por MTD Products Limited con respecto a
nuevos productos adquiridos y utilizados en Canadá y/o sus territorios
y posesiones (cualquiera de las dos entidades, respectivamente,
"MTD").
"MTD" garantiza este producto (excluidas las Piezas y Accesorios con
Desgaste Normal según se describe más abajo) contra defectos en los
materiales y mano de obra por un período de dos (1) años a partir de
la fecha de compra original y, a su opción, reparará o reemplazará, sin
costo alguno, cualquier pieza que presente defectos en los materiales o
de mano de obra. Esta garantía limitada sólo se aplicará si el producto
ha sido operado y mantenido de acuerdo con las instrucciones del
Manual del Operador que se proporciona con el producto y no ha sido
sujeto a uso inapropiado, abuso, uso comercial, abandono, accidente,
mantenimiento incorrecto, alteración, vandalismo, robo, incendio,
inundación o algún daño debido a otro peligro o desastre natural.
El daño resultante por la instalación o el uso de piezas, accesorios o
uniones no aprobados por MTD para su uso con el(los) producto(s)
incluido(s) en este manual anulará la garantía en lo que respecta a esos
daños.
Se garantiza que las Piezas con Desgaste Normal están libres de defectos
en los materiales y mano de obra por un período de treinta (30) días
a partir de la fecha de compra. Las piezas sujetas a desgaste normal
incluyen pero no se limitan a: baterías, correas, cuchillas, adaptadores
para cuchillas, dientes, bolsas para césped, ruedas, ruedas para la
plataforma de la podadora tractor, asientos, zapatas antideslizantes,
ruedas de fricción, placas de raspado, gomas helicoidales y neumáticos.
Accesorios — MTD garantiza que los accesorios de este producto están
libres de defectos de material y mano de obra durante un período de
un (1) año a partir de la fecha de compra o arrendamiento original del
accesorio. Los accesorios incluyen, pero no se limitan a elementos tales
como: colectores de césped y kits para abono.

Esta garantía limitada no ofrece cobertura en los siguientes casos:
a. Las bombas, válvulas y cilindros del rompetroncos tienen una
garantía separada de un año.
b. Los elementos del mantenimiento de rutina como por ejemplo
lubricantes, filtros, afiladores de cuchillas, puesta a punto del motor,
ajustes de frenos, del embrague o de la plataforma y el deterioro
normal del acabado exterior debido al uso o exposición.
c. Mantenimiento no realizado por el distribuidor de servicio
autorizado.
d. MTD no extiende ninguna garantía para los productos vendidos
o exportados fuera de los Estados Unidos de América y/o Canadá,
y sus respectivas posesiones y territorios, excepto para aquellos
vendidos a través de los canales autorizados de distribución de
exportaciones de MTD.
e. Piezas de reemplazo que no son piezas genuinas de MTD.
f. Gastos de transporte y visitas técnicas.
g. MTD no garantiza este producto para uso comercial.
No se aplican garantías implícitas, incluidas las garantías
implícitas de comerciabilidad o de adecuación para un propósito
determinado, después del período de aplicación de la garantía
escrita expresa extendida más arriba para las piezas de acuerdo
con su identicación. Ninguna otra garantía expresa, sea oral o
escrita, excepto la mencionada anteriormente, extendida por
personas o entidades, incluidos los distribuidores y minoristas,
con respecto a cualquier producto, obligará a MTD. Durante el
plazo de la garantía el único recurso es la reparación o reemplazo

Usted asume el riesgo y la responsabilidad por las pérdidas, daños o
lesiones personales o materiales propias o de terceros que surjan del
uso incorrecto o de la falta de capacidad para usar este producto.
Esta garantía limitada cubre solamente al comprador original, o a la
persona que recibió el producto de regalo.

GARANTÍA: Esta garantía limitada le otorga derechos legales
específicos y usted también puede tener otros derechos que varían de
un estado a otro.
