Instructions TO6842 and TO6823
Before first use:
Assemble the Grill-Smoking Oven according to the assembly instruction and make sure that the screws are tightened carefully. Check
that the resistor cord is undamaged. Do not connect a damaged cord to the socket. Wash the grill grating and the fat plate. Dry the
parts carefully. Place the Grill-Smoking Oven on a solid and even base. You may fasten the Grill-Smoking Oven to the base with
screws by the holes in the legs. Fastening screws are not included in the package. Make sure that there is no inflammable material
near the Grill-Smoking Oven. Also make sure that children do not get close to the Grill-Smoking Oven when it is hot.
SMOKING:
The electric resistor should be fixed to the lower part. Sprinkle the chip tray with no more than 2 dl of moistened or soaked smoking
chips and place the chip tray on the chip tray carriers. Use sufficiently coarse smoking chips to avoid that the chips start glowing
too fast. Alder chips are the most common smoking chips. Other suitable kinds are apple, oak, cherry and beech. Try different smoky
flavours and choose your favourites.
Put the fat plate in place. You can place a piece of aluminium foil on the fat plate to protect it and make it easier to clean. NOTE! Do
not cover the holes in the fat plate. Place the food to be smoked on the grating and close the Grill-Smoking Oven. When smoking
fish or other food to be salted, you can add the salt after smoking if you do not want the Grill-Smoking Oven to be exposed to pitting
corrosion caused by salt. If you add the salt before smoking, the Grill-Smoking Oven should be cleaned very carefully after use.
Connect the cord to an earthed socket with fault current protection and smoke the food until done. At the end of this booklet,
you’ll find approximate smoking times in proportion to the weight of the food to be smoked. Avoid opening the Grill-Smoking Oven
unnecessarily during smoking. The handle on top of the Grill-Smoking Oven should only be used for moving the Grill-Smoking Oven
while it is cold.
When the food is done, disconnect the Grill-Smoking Oven from the socket. NOTE! Do not leave the Grill-Smoking Oven on.
GRILLING:
The electric resistor should be fixed to the upper part. When the resistor is above the food to be grilled, the food is grilled by thermal
radiation. Thus, the food is grilled without smell, as the fat hits the fat plate, not the resistor.
Put the fat plate in place. You can place a piece of aluminium foil on the fat plate to protect it and make it easier to clean. NOTE! Do
not cover the holes in the fat plate. Place the grill grating on the fat plate and the food to be grilled on the grating. Connect the cord
to an earthed socket with fault current protection. Close the Grill-Smoking Oven. Do not touch the hot parts when opening the Grill-
Smoking Oven. The handle on top of the Grill-Smoking Oven should only be used for moving the Grill-Smoking Oven while it is cold.
In the Grill-Smoking Oven, you can grill sausages, toasts, steaks, vegetables etc. If you want both sides of the food browned, turn it
a few times while grilling.
When the food is done, disconnect the Grill-Smoking Oven from the socket. NOTE! Do not leave the Grill-Smoking Oven on.
Cleaning the Grill-Smoking Oven:
Wash the grill grating, the fat plate and the chip tray immediately after use, the parts are machine washable. You can also use a grill
brush or a coarse sponge. Also wipe the dirt from the outer surfaces of the Grill-Smoking Oven as soon as it is cold. Dry the parts
and the Grill-Smoking Oven carefully. You can also heat the parts for a few minutes inside the Grill-Smoking Oven. If you wash the
Grill-Smoking Oven by immersing it in water, remove the resistor before doing so. Wipe the resistor with a damp cloth. With regular
and careful maintenance, the Grill-Smoking Oven will be useful for a long time and protected against pitting corrosion caused by salt.
Storage:
Clean the Grill-Smoking Oven carefully. Store it in a dry place.
Warnings:
• Do not use coals or other combustible materials in the Grill-Smoking Oven.
• The Grill-Smoking Oven should be connected to an earthed socket with fault current protection and no more than 30 mA.
• The cord should be checked for faults and damages. Do not use the Grill-Smoking Oven if the cord is damaged. The cord and the
resistor constitute one unit, and if either one is damaged, the entire unit must be replaced.
• The Grill-Smoking Oven should not be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental qualities or who lack experience
or knowledge even if they are supervised or have been taught to use the Grill-Smoking Oven.

• Do not let the cord touch the surfaces of the Grill-Smoking Oven when it is hot.
• The Grill-Smoking Oven is not designed to be used with a timer or remote control.
