1. WARNINGS AND SAFETY
Read this User Man al caref lly, as well as the simple r les listed below. Fail re to comply with these
r les may lead to dangero s sit ations.
Ca tion: The prod ct cannot be sed in official or non-official competitions, motordromes, circ its,
racing tracks and the like.
Ca tion: Installation of the N-Com B901 system res lts in a weight increase of approximately 110 g,
which is added to the weight of the helmet and of the other accessories.
Warning: The electronic components of the N-Com system mo nted inside the helmet are not
waterproof. Conseq ently, make s re the inside of the helmet, incl ding the comfort padding, does
not get wet in order to avoid damage to the system. If water seeps into the helmet, remove the
comfort padding from the helmet and allow to air dry.
1.1. Road safety
Always obey all Traffic Reg lations in force. While riding yo r motorcycle, yo r hands sho ld always
be engaged in act ally riding the vehicle. Any operation to the N-Com system m st be carried o t
with the motorcycle stopped.
Specifically:
•Set yo r cell phone on a tomatic answer (see the cell phone instr ctions to do this).
•If yo r cell phone is not eq ipped with this f nction, first stop yo r vehicle in a safe area, in
compliance with Traffic Reg lations and then answer the call.
•Do not make any calls while riding. Stop yo r vehicle in a safe place in compliance with Traffic
Reg lations and then make the call.
•Adj st the vol me so that it does not ca se a dist rbance or distraction while riding and at the
same time allows yo to distinctively hear backgro nd noises.
•Do not operate yo r cell phone or other devices connected to the N-Com system while riding yo r
motorcycle.
•In all cases, obey the Traffic Reg lations and remember that riding the motorcycle has absol te
priority over any other manoe vre.
1.2. Switching on the system in safe environments
•When sing the N-Com system, comply with all limitations and instr ctions related to the se of
cell phones.
•Do not t rn on yo r cell phone or the N-Com system whenever their se is forbidden or when
these devices can ca se interference or dangero s sit ations.
•T rn off while ref elling. Do not se the N-Com system at filling stations. Do not se the device
near comb stible materials or chemical prod cts.
•T rn off when near explosive materials.
1.3. Interferences
All phones and devices with wireless signal transmission are s bject to interferences that may affect
the performance of the device connected to them. These interferences are not ascribable to a defect
of the N-Com system.

1.4. Appropriate se
Use the device only in the normal position, as described in the prod ct doc mentation. Do not
attempt to disassemble, tamper with, or modify any part of the N-Com system.
Ca tion: Adj st the vol me of the N-Com system and of the a dio so rces connected to it before yo
se the system on the road.
Ca tion: Adj sting the vol me to exceedingly high levels may ca se damage to yo r hearing.
Ca tion: Incorrect installation of the system in the helmet may alter the aerodynamic and safety
characteristics of the helmet itself, th s creating dangero s conditions. Install the N-Com system
according to the instr ctions provided in the prod ct doc mentation. In case of do bt, please
contact yo r local N-Com dealer.
Warning: Listening to other eq ipment sho ld not interfere with riding yo r motorcycle, which m st
be the top priority at all times. Carry o t all operations on the electronic eq ipment and on the N-
Com system with the vehicle stopped, in compliance with Traffic Reg lations.
Ca tion: The N-Com system allows reception of the FM radio signal. Any radio licence fees are
charged to the ser.
1.5. Q alified personnel
Only q alified personnel can carry o t technical assistance on this prod ct. In case of any
malf nction, always t rn to yo r local dealer. The helmet is a safety device. Tampering with it and/or
with the electronic system inside the helmet can res lt in dangero s sit ations, in addition to
invalidating the prod ct warranty.
1.6. Accessories and batteries
•Only se the type of batteries, battery chargers and accessories approved by Nolangro p for the
specific model.
•Using a battery type different from the recommended one may lead to dangero s sit ations and
invalidate the warranty.
•Contact yo r local dealer to see abo t the availability of approved accessories.
•When disconnecting the power s pply cable of any accessory or of the battery charger, always
grab and p ll the pl g, not the cable.
•Do not se batteries for p rposes other than the prescribed ones.
•Never se batteries or battery chargers that t rn o t to be damaged.
•Do not short-circ it the battery.
•Keep the battery at a temperat re between 0° / +45°C (charging): -10° / +55°C (in se).
•Danger of fire or explosion: do not throw the batteries into a fire or expose them to high
temperat res!
•Do not throw o t batteries together with ho sehold ref se. The batteries sho ld be disposed of in
compliance with local reg lations.
•Do not wear the helmet while the battery is recharging.
•The helmet sho ld never be left within the reach of ns pervised children in order to prevent
damage to their health ca sed by access to the batteries.

1.7. Disposal
Refer to this ser man al and to man als related to other parts of the N-Com system in order to
disassemble the system from the helmet. Once the system has been disassembled, dispose of it
according to the following instr ctions:
•The presence of a crossed-o t wheelie bin indicates that in the E ropean Union the
prod ct is s bject to separate collection at the end of its sef l life.
•Do not dispose of these prod cts together with ndifferentiated rban waste.
•The proper disposal of obsolete eq ipment contrib tes to preventing possible negative
conseq ences on people’s health and on the environment.
•Within the E ropean Union, the dealer, when s pplying the new eq ipment, ens res that the sed
eq ipment will be collected free of charge, provided it is eq ivalent to a ratio of one to one.
•For more detailed information on the disposal of obsolete eq ipment, contact yo r m nicipality, a
waste disposal service, or the store where the prod ct was p rchased.

2. CONTENT OF THE PACKAGING

3. INSTALLATION
Important: Prior to installing the N-Com system, it is recommended to write down the identification
code affixed to the prod ct (see chapter 19.5).
The installation video can be seen at www.n-com.it / S pport section.
•Remove the “N-Com” protection plate located on the helmet shell (Fig. 1) and open the helmet
chin g ard (flip p helmets).
•Remove the right and left cheek pads from the helmet (see specific instr ctions provided in the
ser man al of the helmet).
•Remove the back of the comfort padding by p lling on the neck roll ntil it separates from the
shell.
•Temporarily p t the padding on the o tside of the helmet (Fig. 2).
•Remove the N-Com cover from the helmet border gasket. P sh from the inside of the helmet to
facilitate the removal (Fig. 3).

ONLY FOR FULL-FACE HELMETS:
•Remove the chin g ard by p lling on the special red tab (Fig. 4).

•Remove the right and left polystyrene cheek pads by gently
p lling them o t of the helmet. The helmet shell can be opened
slightly to facilitate the removal of the cheek pad.
Ca tion: In case the polystyrene cheek pad is damaged d ring
this operation, t rn to yo r local dealer for its replacement.

3.1. Installing the microphone
JET HELMETS OR FLIP-UP HELMETS
•Prepare the microphone by inserting the microphone clamp, being caref l to position it properly
(Fig. 6).
•Position the microphone in its s pport as shown in fig re 7. Make s re that the side of the
microphone s pport with the writing “n” is facing inward.
•Insert screw in the microphone clamp; se the key to screw in the microphone sec ring screw to
the shell frame (Fig. 8).

FULL-FACE HELMETS
•Take the polystyrene cheek pad (left-hand side)
and position the microphone in its ho sing, as
shown in Fig. 9. Make s re that the side of the
microphone s pport with the writing “n” is facing
inward.
3.2. Installing the system on the helmet
•Position the system inside the helmet as shown in fig re 11, next to the N-Com ho sing in the
shell.
•Looking at the helmet from the o tside, slide the rear positioning tab into groove A as shown in
the fig re.
•Press in the area marked PUSH from inside the helmet ntil the fastening clasp B clicks (Fig. 12).
•P ll o t the connector’s area from the helmet gasket: the gasket will have to be slightly deformed
to facilitate the insertion (Fig. 13).

•Insert the microphone connector in the micro USB electronic plate (Fig. 14).
•Before yo place the speaker in its ho sing, apply the Velcro pad to the polystyrene cheek pad
(Fig. 15).
•Position the lo dspeaker in the special ho sing obtained in the polystyrene cheek pad (Fig. 16).
•Replace the polystyrene cheek pad (left side), positioning the cable in the groove that yo see in
the cheek pad.
Note: Make s re the cheek pad is properly positioned in its ho sing, p shing in the lined corner
nderneath the ribbing on the shell.

•Remove the protective
film of the battery

•Stick the battery to the
polystyrene cheek pad
(right side), in the
specific ho sing (Fig.
18).
•Hook p the battery cable to the connector located on the wiring system.
•Before yo place the speaker in its ho sing, apply the Velcro pad to the polystyrene cheek pad
(right side).
•Position the lo dspeaker in its ho sing obtained in the polystyrene cheek pad (right side).
•Replace the polystyrene cheek pad (right side), positioning the cable in the groove yo see in the
cheek pad.
ONLY FOR FULL-FACE HELMETS: Insert the chin g ard (microphone side), gently placing the
microphone in its ho sing. Then press down on the red tab ntil the chin g ard is locked in place on
the helmet.
•Position the comfort padding in its ho sing (see specific instr ctions provided in the helmet ser
man al), hooking the neck roll.
•Position both the comfort cheek pads in their ho sing (see specific instr ctions provided in the
helmet ser man al) making s re that all the press-st ds click.
Note: Caref lly check the proper final positioning of the cheek pad, p lling the chinstrap toward the
inside of the helmet and testing the press-st ds.
Ca tion: Make s re that there are no cables sticking o t of the helmet and that the lo dspeakers are
in their ho sing.

Ca tion: Always verify the proper length of the chinstrap and adj st it as necessary, once again
referring to the specific helmet instr ctions.
•Position the e-box in the relevant ho sing. First insert the front part, then press down on the e-
box ntil both hooks f lly click.
Warning: Do not leave the helmet exposed to atmospheric agents witho t the e-box or the
protection plate provided with the helmet.
3.3. Removing the system
•Remove the protection plate, then, looking at the helmet from the o tside, release the connector
by acting on the fastening clasp as ill strated in the fig re.
•Now remove the entire system from the helmet.
Note: Before sing the N-Com device for the first time, recharge the battery completely for at least 10
ho rs. To obtain best performances from the battery, it is recommended to completely recharge the
battery the first few times. Afterwards, yo can recharge the battery for shorter periods. Whenever
possible, it is best to recharge the battery completely.

•To remove the system from the helmet, remove the
earphone and the comfort cheek pads as shown in the
assembly operations. Then remove the polystyrene cheek
pads.
•To remove the e-box, press the two sliding hooks at the
same time ntil the e-box comes o t.

4. BASIC FUNCTIONS
System ON Press “ON” and keep it pressed for abo t 2 seconds, ntil the LEDs t rn
on and yo hear the voice anno ncement.
System OFF Press “ON” and keep it pressed for abo t 3 seconds, ntil the LEDs t rn
off and yo hear the voice anno ncement.
4.1. Vol me adj stment
Yo can easily adj st the vol me by tapping the “” or the “” key. Yo will hear a beep when the
vol me reaches the maxim m or minim m level.
The vol me is independent for each so nd so rce. Once it is set for a specific so rce (phone call,
radio, Mp3), it will be remain in memory even after the system is switched off.
However, if yo adj st the vol me d ring stand-by mode, it will affect vol me levels of every a dio
so rce.
4.2. A to On / Off f nction
If the helmet does no move for more than 60 seconds, the B901 system goes into “deep sleep” mode.
The system is completely t rned on as soon as movement is detected.
If the system is in “deep sleep” mode for more than 3 days, it t rns off completely. To t rn it back on,
the “ON” key need to be pressed.
The “A to On / Off” f nction is enabled by defa lt on the device.
Yo can enable / disable the f nction from the Config ration Men (Chapter 5).
4.3. M lti-lang age voice messages
The N-Com system feat res voice messages that provide information on the system and on the active
f nctions. The lang age set by defa lt is English. The lang age of the voice messages may be changed
thro gh the specific firmware installable with the N-Com EASYSET program. Please refer to the online
HELP for instr ctions on how to change the lang age settings.
Available lang ages: Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, D tch.
The defa lt f nction is enabled on the device.
Yo can enable / disable the “VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS” f nction by sing the
N-Com EASYSET program or the N-Com EASYSET APP.
4.4. N-Com EASYSET
“N-Com EASYSET” is the application that can be sed to manage and config re the B901
system. The programme can be downloaded from the Internet site www.n-com.it, in the
“Download” section. The f nctions that can also be managed from the N-Com EASYSET
are listed here below with the specific icon.

makes it possible to config re the N-Com system directly from yo r Smartphone.
The N-Com APP can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play or Apple Store.

5. CONFIGURATION MENU
All Bl etooth pair ps and other adj stments are carried o t in this mode.
To p t the system in “Config ration mode” (starting from a switched off system) press the “ON” key
and keep it pressed for 4 seconds, ntil yo hear the voice anno ncement “
Config ration Men
”.
Once in the “Config ration” men , press the “” and “” keys to scroll thro gh the vario s men
items.
In the items marked with an “*”, it is possible to enable / disable the f nction or carry o t the
commands by pressing the “ON” key to confirm.
The following items make p the “Config ration” men :

C. Universal Intercom pairing (chapter 15)

I. A dio boost *
By enabling the “A dio boost” (A dio Boost), all the a dio so rces inside the device will be
reprod ced at a higher and potentially less clear vol me.
Press the “ON” confirmation key to enable / disable the f nction, which is not enabled by defa lt
on the device.
J. Delete all pairings*
In order to delete all Bl etooth pair ps stored in the device, press the key “” or “” ntil yo
hear the voice anno ncement “
Delete all pairings
”.
Press the “ON” confirmation key to delete all Bl etooth devices stored in memory.
K. Reset*
In order to restore the factory settings of the device, press the key “” or “” ntil yo hear the
voice message “

Press the “ON” confirmation key to restore all the factory settings of the device.
L. Exiting the config ration*
To exit the “Config ration” men , press the key “” or “” ntil yo hear the voice

If no key is pressed within 10 seconds, the device a tomatically exits the “Config ration” men .

6. PAIRING UP WITH MOBILE PHONES OR OTHER BLUETOOTH DEVICES
•Make s re the B901 is t rned off.
•P t the system in the “Config ration” mode: press the “ON” key and keep it pressed for 4
seconds, ntil yo hear the voice anno ncement “
Config ration Men
”.
•Press the “” key to access the “Mobile phone pair p mode”.
•T rn on the search for Bl etooth devices (smartphone, GPS, MP3 reader) on the device.
•Select the N-Com device. If a password is req ested, enter 0000 (fo r zeros).
•Connection between the two devices is established after a few seconds.
Note: The affiliation is stored in the helmet and in the cell phone and it is not lost when the two
devices are t rned off. As a res lt it needs to be carried o t only once.
A tomatic Connection Once the Bl etooth device has been paired p, connection is a tomatic
when the system is t rned on.
Man al Connection
In case connection is not a tomatically initiated after a few seconds, yo
can connect from the Bl etooth device or by pressing “ON” and keep it
pressed for abo t 2 seconds.
7. MOBILE PHONE
To pair p a mobile phone to the B901 system, follow the proced re ill strated in Chapter 6.
Answering a phone call Briefly press any key when yo hear the incoming call signal.
Vocal answer (VOX phone)
When yo hear the ringtone, say any word o t lo d.
Yo can enable / disable the “VOX phone” f nction by sing
the N-Com EASYSET program or the N-Com EASYSET APP.
The f nction is not active d ring the intercom connection.
Voice call Press “ON” and keep it pressed for abo t 2 seconds.
Hanging p/rejecting a phone call Press “ON” and keep it pressed for abo t 2 seconds.
Man al phone connection Press “ON” and keep it pressed for abo t 2 seconds.
7.1. Speed dial
Using the N-Com EASYSET program or the N-Com EASYSET App, yo can store
p to 3 of yo r favo rite n mbers, which yo will be able to dial from the
“ Speed Dial ” men .
Saving the Speed Dial n mbers
To assign one or more speed dialling n mbers:
•P t the system in the “Config ration” mode: starting from a switched off system, press the “ON”
key and keep it pressed for 4 seconds, ntil yo hear the voice anno ncement “

•On yo r own mobile phone (paired p and connected to the N-Com system), call the phone
n mber yo wish to assign to the selected speed dialling position. The call is interr pted before it
goes thro gh, and the selected n mber will be saved; at this point yo will hear the special voice

Using the stored n mbers
To access the “Speed Dial” men , press at the same time the “ON” and “” keys (“
Speed Dial”)

Then press the “ON” key to confirm the selection of one of the following items:

N.B.: If no key is pressed within 15 seconds, the system exits the “Speed Dial” men .
7.2. Conference call f nction
When a call comes in on a mobile phone connected via Bl etooth to B901, the intercom is
temporarily t rned off. However, if yo wish to share the phone call with the other helmet, simply
t rn on the intercom man ally d ring the phone call.

8. MANAGING TWO MOBILE PHONES (OR BLUETOOTH DEVICES)
The B901 system can be hooked p to two phones (or Bl etooth) devices at the same time.
The second phone (secondary device) can receive calls b t not make them.

Once the Bl etooth device has been paired p, connection is a tomatic when the system is t rned
on.
If yo wish to connect a mobile and a satellite navigator for motorbikes, it is recommended to pair p
the mobile as the MAIN DEVICE (chapter 6) and the navigator as the SECONDARY DEVICE, following
the proced re described above.
9. SMART NAVI SYSTEM
The “SMART NAVI SYSTEM” f nction allows yo to listen to navigator directions coming from the
smartphone even d ring an intercom call or while listening to the FM Radio.
The a dio stops to allow transmission of the navigator directions from the smartphone and is
a tomatically re-established at the end of said instr ctions.
The “SMART NAVI SYSTEM” f nction is disabled by defa lt on the device.
Yo can enable / disable the f nction from the Config ration Men (Chapter 5).
N.B.: With the Smart Navi System enabled, all a dio information coming from the smartphone (for
example, notification so nds) temporarily stops the a dio nder way.
Yo can enable / disable the “SMART NAVI SYSTEM” f nction by sing the N-
Com EASYSET program or the N-Com EASYSET APP.
10. MUSIC VIA BLUETOOTH
To pair p an Mp3 device to the B901 system, follow the proced re ill strated in Chapter 6.

10.1. Sharing m sic via Bl etooth (A2DP Sharing)
D ring the intercom connection, yo can start playing m sic by briefly pressing “” for 2 abo t
seconds. The m sic will be played in both systems.
M sic sharing temporarily c ts off the intercom conversation; however, this can be a tomatically
restored by stopping the m sic (this is done by briefly pressing the “ON” key).
N.B.: M sic shared thro gh the intercom can be managed by both systems, for example, both
systems can change the track by pressing the relative command.
N.B.: the “M sic Sharing” f nction can only be sed with the N-Com series “900”/”600”.
11. MUSIC VIA CABLE
Connect the mini USB connector of the M ltimedia Wire (not incl ded) to the helmet and the other
end to the a dio device. A colo red band on the cable indicates the connector to be hooked p to
the a dio device.

14. INTERCOM
The N-Com B901 system allows comm nication with other N-Com systems, p to a maxim m
distance of abo t 600 m (in open field, with no obstacles). The range of the comm nication varies
depending on the N-Com systems sed.
N.B.: The range and q ality of the comm nication may vary significantly depending on the presence
of obstacles, weather conditions, magnetic fields.

14.3. Intercom f nction (one-to-one connection)
To establish an Intercom connection with one of the systems stored in memory, simply press the
command related to the channel where the system was saved.
Connection CHANNEL 1 Briefly press “ON”.
Call CHANNEL 2 Press the “ON” key twice.
Call CHANNEL 3 Press the “ON” key three times.
Disconnection of active intercom Briefly press “ON”.
N.B.: In case the pre-setting position is empty, or the system being called cannot be reached within
the maxim m range or it is already engaged in a phone call, yo will hear an error voice message.
N.B.: In case the Intercom connection system falls o tside the range (Intercom connection
interr pted), the B901 system will a tomatically try to reconnect every 8 seconds. Do ble beeps will
be emitted ntil the Intercom connection is not restored.
If yo do not want a tomatic reconnection, press the “ON” key to stop the a tomatic reconnection
attempts.
The B901 system is eq ipped with the VOX f nction, which makes it possible to switch the intercom
on and off vocally. In order to work properly, the VOX f nction m st be enabled on both B901
systems connected via intercom.
The VOX f nction is disabled by defa lt on the device.
Yo can enable / disable the “VOX” f nction and set the activation sensitivity,
sing the N-Com EASYSET program or the N-Com EASYSET APP.
If the f nction is enabled, the system works as follows:
•The intercom switches on a tomatically by saying any word o t lo d into the microphone of one
of the two helmets.
•The intercom switches off a tomatically when both sers do not speak for 20 seconds. If the
intercom conversation was started by pressing the man al connection key, the intercom m st be
man ally disconnected as well.
In the event that the VOX f nction is enabled on the device b t the last connected channel is not
available or cannot be reached, it is advisable to temporarily disable the VOX f nction by pressing the
“” key for 5 seconds. By doing so, the system will not attempt to connect to the last connected
channel every time a word is spoken o t lo d.
The temporary disabling of the VOX f nction is then removed the first time the N-Com device is
t rned off; so, if the VOX is enabled (from PC or APP), it will be restored the next time the device is
switched on.
Note: The VOX f nction can be sed EXCLUSIVELY with “900” series N-Com systems.

14.4. Smart Conference (Gro p Intercom)
Thanks to the “Smart Conference” f nction, yo can start the conference comm nication between N-
Com intercom systems of the “900” series previo sly paired p and saved in the 3 available channels.
All systems m st be t rned on and available within the connection range.
1. Each system m st have been previo sly paired p to all the other systems: B, C and D.
2. Any system can press at the same time the “” and “” keys to activate the Gro p
Conference or to start a conference comm nication between all the systems.
3. In the case where one of the systems presses the “ON” key or falls o tside the connection
range, the gro p intercom is interr pted.
