Note: Once an incident/event has occurred and a video recording file needs to be stopped
and saved, press the middle button. The red LEDwill flash to confirm. This will stop the
current recordingand preserve it from being written over.

MEMORY CARD REQUIRED FOR OPERATION
The Navcam-GPS requires a Micro SD card (not included) to record video / image content.
(See the below table showing card capacity and the relevant amount of video / image
content able to be stored). For optimal performance, we recommend using a Class 4 Micro
SD card (themost common type) to ensure fast data transfer rates. The below capacities
relate to one FULL CARD not the length of each file able to be recorded. User defined setting
such as currently stored files (.BAK), resolution and cycle time will greatly influence storage
capacity.

A NOTE ON RECORDING TIMES:
1) Hereis a settings example to help further explain memory storage. Please note that this is
an approximated example: If a 2GB card is set to record at 720P and to cycle record at 4
minute intervals, you will be able to store three files and actively record a fourth. Each file
will be about 400MB in size each. Note: You will not be able to fill exactly 2GB of memory
storage as the formatting process (file allocation table) requires operating memory space.
2) A Micro SDHC card must be inserted into the device before recording.
3) The Navcam-GPS supports cycle recording in increments of 1 / 3 / 5 / 8 / 10 / 20 minutes.
It will overwrite theoldest video files with new ones. Depending on the size of the Micro
SDHC card and the speed rating of the card, there may be as much as a 3 second pause time
whilst old files are overwritten with the newer files. This pause time will notbe recorded.
3) As the Navcam -GPShas a DC5V input, please use the original car charger which will step
down the car’s 12/24VDC to 5VDC.
HOW TO INSERT THE MICRO SD CARD
1. Withthe device screen facing towards you, insert the micro SD card with the copper
contacts facing towards you. Insert the card carefully and without force.
2. The card should slide in smoothly its entire length. Use your finger nail to insert
slightly past the housing and into the unit.
3. Then release your finger. The card should stay in place thanks to a spring locking
mechanism. If the card starts to spring back out, carefully repeat the process until it
locks in place.
Note 1:Before first use, insert the card and use the on board format featureto prepare the
card for use.
Note 2: The SD card needs to be inserted otherwise the unit will not operate correctly.
Note3: Fast Micro SD card (class 4 or above) recommended. Slow Micro SD cards orcards
with bad sectors will effect button responsiveness and cause unexpected write errors
POWER ON/OFF FUNCTION (AUTO ON/OFF)
Note: Please ensure this feature is turned on or/off in your user settings per your
requirements.
To turnon the Navcam-GPS, press the power buttonon the side of the device. To turn off,
press the same power button.
When connected to the 12vDC socket (cigarette socket) of your car, the Navcam-GPS will
turn on and off automatically when the car’s ignition is turned on or off. If the Navcam-GPS
does not turn off immediately it means the device is completing the file save process before
turningoff(usually onlya few seconds).

If the 12v socket is “constant on” (in some European vehicles), then the Navcam-GPS will
need to be turned on/off manually via the power button
Whilst connected to the car’s 12V DC socket (or from a powered USB hub or PC USBport)
the LED indicator will glow orange (battery is charging) and will turn to green colour once
the battery is fully charged.
The screen saver feature can automatically dim the LCD screen (turn off) while recording,
after a set period of time. This isideal for night time driving.
TURN ON AND AUTO-RECORD
When the Navcam-GPS is turned on (either by pressing the power button or auto on) the
device will automatically begin recording. To stop recording, either turn power off to the
unit or disconnect the power cable.
RECORDING
Turn on the Navcam-GPS. Recording should start automatically (please check your user
settings if unsure). When recordinghas begun, the video icon on the LCD screen will turn
RED. The recorded file is saved onto the Micro SDHC Card. Stop therecording by either
pressing theSTOP button or turning the car ignition off (stopping power to the device)
In the event of an incident / accident – STOP the Recording.
- Due to the “cycle recording” nature of this technology, older recorded files will be overwritten (depending on
the chosen resolution settings and the memory capacity of the Micro SD card). For example a 2GB SD card at
HD resolution will only offer you 20 minutes of record time before the files (1, 3, 5, 8, 10 or 20min sizes) start to
get overwritten
- Should you wishto KEEP thevideo footageof anincident from not being overwritten, stop the recording soon
after an incident has occurred. (Eitherpressthe middle button or disconnect the power or remove theMicro
SD card).
- Alternately usea larger capacity SDcardor lower the recordingresolution (eg; a 32GB SD card at VGA

BATTERY STATUS ICONS
The below icons show the charge status of the built in battery.
The three main icons are: exhausted, charging and fully charged.
Battery is flat. Charge urgently.
Battery needs charging. Charge as
soon as possible.
Battery is fully charged.

INSTALLATION ON THE WINDSCREEN
The Navcam-GPS works best when mounted centrally and high up on the windscreen
(typicallybehind or close to the rear vision mirror). Use the supplied windscreen suction
mount to affix the Navcam-GPS to the windscreen and then adjustthe mount until you can
see a clear view of the road ahead on the LCD.
1. Installing the windscreen bracket
1.1 Pick a suitable area on your windscreen or side window and make sure it
does not interfere with your vehicles operating controls or obstruct your view
1.2 Press the suction base of the car holder to the glass and press the locking
lever towards the glass. Ensureboth surfaces are clean and dry.
1.3 Screw the Crash Cam directly onto the holder.
Note: Over tightening may cause damage to the holder and/or the device.
1.4 Use the adjusting knobs to correctly position the device
1.5 Further adjustment can be made by twisting the flexible rubber mount,
directly connected under the Crash Cam.
1.6 Plug the USB car charging cable into the unit and the other into the cigarette
lighter socket. Route the cable so itdoes not interfere with the vehicle’s
operation
2. Removing the windscreen bracket
2.1 Loosen and unscrew the connecting wheel and detach the Crash Cam from
the windscreen mount.
2.2 Release the suction mount in the reverse order as discussed in above point
1.2
Note: To remove thesuction mount, pull the locking lever of the suction base towards you. If
the car holder still doesn't detach from your windscreen, tug gently on the clear plastic tab
at the edge of the suction mount to break the (vacuum) seal. It is preferred to leave the
mount attached to the windscreen to avoid damaging the surface of the suction pad.

Once the wiring and installation of the Navcam-GPS have been completed, please check the following:
- With the car’s ignition on (or engine started), the orange LED indicator on the Navcam-GPS will light up and
the LCD screenshould turnon. Recordingshould start automatically. This will indicate a successful installation
- When the car’s ignition is turned off, the device should turn off within 20 seconds and a “Goodbye” message
will appear on the LCD screen. If this doesn’t happen then power is still being supplied to the car’s 12v socket
and the device will needto be switchedoff manually.

QUICK ADJUSTING MOUNT
The mounting arm can be rotated and adjusted tosuit any application. This is ideal for
better camera positioning or forrecording inside the car (passengers). Should the saved
images appear upside down, use the “rotate” feature to flip the image 180 degrees.
USB CONNECTION
Connect the Navcam-GPS to a Windows (XPor 7) PC with the USB cable (included). The text
“USB connecting” will appear on the screen.
Under “My Computer” or “Windows Explorer” a new drive will become visible, known as a
Removable Disk (just the same as when connecting a USB Flashdrive or Hard drive).
Recorded files arestored in the folders “Camera” for photos and “VideoRec” for Video and
GPS data. These files can be played back using Windows Media player or a compatible .avi
media player or an image viewer (for images)
Note 1: This device will not be visible (in windows explorer for example) while in sleep mode.
It will however continue to charge when connected via USB if the PC or charging
device is powered on.
Note 2: Data transfers will not function when the device is in sleep mode.
PLAYBACK ON TV
Connect the Navcam-GPS to a TV or AV monitor with the supplied AV cable (2.5mm phono
plug one end, RCA composite connectors on the other end).
From the recorded files menu setting, select the “VideoRec” folder and then the video file
for playback. Playback the selected files using your Navcam-GPS control buttons (only)
Note 1: During playback using the AV output cable, the Crashcam-GPS preview screen will be
blacked out. The Crashcam-GPS preview screen image will return once the AV cable is
removed.
Note 2: Only video can be playback while using the TV out function. Photos can not be played
back.
TAKING STILL PICTURE IMAGES
1. Use the mode button (Button number 8) to toggle to the still camera feature. This is
indicated when an icon of a digital still camera appears on the preview screen.
2. Use the shutter button (Button number 4) to then capture digital photo images
TAKING VIDEO PICTURE IMAGES
1. Use the mode button (Button number 8) to toggle to the video camera feature. This
is indicated when an icon of a video camera appears on thepreview screen.

2. Use the shutter button (Button number 4) to then capture digital video images. Once
recording has started, the icon of the video camera will turn to a red colour.
3. Use the shutterbutton again to stop the recording. The file will be saved
automatically. Note: the middle button can also be sued to create back up files.

3. Screen off: Select between 5, 15, 30 seconds and to switch this feature off
4. Autopower off: Select between 3, 9 minutes,4 hours orto switch this featureoff
5. Format: Display memory information, or use themiddle button to format the Micro
SD card. Then confirm your choice and begin the format.
6. About system: Display firmware revision and product ID, or use the middle button to
reset the device back to factory settings. Confirm your choice to begin the reset.
7. Time zone: Select your current time zone (Note: Reference table below)
8. Rotate screen: Rotate the preview window 180 degrees (only)
9. Motion detection: Activate or deactivate this feature
10. Sound switch: Activate or deactivate microphone
11. GPS view: Display current longitude and latitude co-ordinates
12. Flash light: Activate or deactivate this feature
Note 1: The Crashcam-GPS will start video recordingautomatically whenit is power on
(pending the user settings)
Note 2: When the Crashcam-GPS has successfully connected to GPS satellites, the satellite
icon on the main menu screen will turn red.

Saved files names are set out as XXXX-MMDD-YYYY.avi , whereby: XXXXis from 0001 to
9999 representing the numerical order of the files recorded, MM represents month, DD
represents days, and date YYYY represents the year
While recording video, press middle button (6), the red led will flash and the video file will
then be saved as XXXX-MMDD-YYYY_bak.avi with the letters “bak” in the filename. This
represents a preserved file that will not be over written
Picture file
Saved files names are set out as IMGXXXX-MMDD-YYYY.jpg, whereby: IMG presents picture,
XXXX is from 0001 to 9999 presenting the numerical order of the files recorded, MM
represents month, DD represents day, and YYYY represents the year
GPS data file
XXXX-MMDD-YYYY.NMEA, this is GPSdata file. The default name also related to the
associated recorded video file. Both these files work together during video playback
SOFTWARE
This product comes with software which allows users to obtain the following information
during playback:

Latitude
Altitude
Instant Speed
Average Speed

Before running the software, please ensure that the supplied codec is installed before use.
(Especially for PC Operating System such as Windows7 and Windows XP)
After installing the codec,
run the Setup.exe file
Connect theCrashcam-GPS to a PC using the USB cable provided
Click Open to load the video file from the Crashcam-GPS drive
FAQ
Q: WhenI press the buttons, it seems the buttons are slow and not responsive enough

A: Make sure the Micro SD is in good working condition and preferably a class 4 card. Cards
with bad sectors or blocks will cause unexpected errors and can slow down the overall
operation of the unit including button responsiveness.
Q: How do I know I am recording?
A: The video camera icon on the screen will turn red in colour, and the red light on the
device will turn on
Q: How do I make sure I am not recording upside down?
A: The time read out on the screen is the easiest indicator. When the time is shown upside
down, per your requirement, this means the video will record up sidedown also. Go to the
Menu options to turn on/ off the “Rotate Screen” function under the System Settings sub
menu
Q: I am missing some recorded files. The size of my card is only 2GB
A: Recorded video files are overwritten continuously. A 2GB card can record a total video
duration of about 5 minutes maximum (4GB will be10 minutes, 8GB 20 minutes and so on).
A 2GB card can only hold 4 files of about 400MB in size, after space has been taken up on
the card due to the formatting procedure. As the file size isso small, the time length is also
small which means files are we-written more quickly. This may cause your files tobe erased
before you can use or view them.
Q: Why do some AVI files have the letters “bak” in them. I did not put them there.
(ie. xxx.bak.avi)
A: As video files are constantly being overwritten, certain files may need to be preserved in
the event of an accident. If you have a video file which needs to be preserved and not
overwritten, press the middle button during recording. The red LED light willblink to
indicate that the current video is being saved permanently. These files can only be
intentionally and specifically removed be the user. The file create during this process has the
letters ”bak” in them (short for back-up)
Q: How do I turn the LCD off but still continue to record
A: Go to the system setting menu and select the “Screen off” option
Q: How do I make sure the motion detection is turned on?
A: Motion detection can be turned on or off using the menu settings. At this stage there is
no visual indicator such as a light to indicate that this feature is turned on. It is
recommended that this feature isleft on as aprecautionary measure.
Q. My Crashcam-GPS will not turn off
A. If installed in a vehicle: Check that the 12V socket is not still powered (on) when the key is
removed (as with some European cars). Wait 20 seconds for file finalisation / closure.
Disconnect power lead to device. Alternatively, press the modebutton (Buttonnumber 8) to
stop the recording, then press the power to turn off.

Q. I cant playback the .avi video files
A. In most cases upgrading your windows mediaplayer version will solve this problem.
Alternatively use another less regulated media player such as VLC media player
Q. My video/pictures of an incident are NOT there
A. Check the capacity of your micro-SD card, the files may have been overwritten in the
record cycle process. Ensure STOP THE RECORDING if you want to keep a video/picture of an
event otherwise it will be over written.
Q. The device has frozen /stopped working.
A. Check the speed of your Micro SD card. We recommend class 4 for faster transfer rates;
especially if the record file size is bigger (say 15 min recording increments at 720 HD). Press
the “reset” button with a paper clip to reset the settings back todefault
Q. The date/time is incorrect
A. Reset the date/ time in the settings menu. If the battery runs completely flat, then the
date/time will need to be reset
Q. The suction cup keeps coming off
A. Ensure the windscreen and surface area of the suction cup are clean. Inwet or very hot
weather, the suction cup mount may need to be reapplied.
Q. Cant see the device in my computer
A. Check the USB cable connection to the device and USB port. Try another USB port,
possibly directly tothe PC/notebook (rather than through a USB hub) A card reader is also
another good option to try.
Q. No Video displayed on TV
A. Check the cable connections on the Navcam-GPS and that playback mode is selected
A. Check the AV input selection on the TV

Warranty Against Defects
Laser Corporation Pty Ltd (“Laser”) warrants your new product to be free from defects in materials
and workmanship for 12 months, from the date of purchase, provided that the product is used in
accordance with accompanying recommendations or instructions where provided. The benefit of
this warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and to other rights and
remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty
relates.
Through a network of retailers and resellers, Laser willprovide you with your choice of a refund,
repair or exchange (where possible) for this product ifit becomes defective within the warranty
period. This warranty will no longer apply where the defect is a result of alteration, accident,
misuse, abuse, normal wear andtear, neglect or improper storage.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase
How to make a product warranty claim:
Step 1: Find your receipt which proves the date of purchase. Where the date of purchase cannot
be verified, your place of purchase or Laser will makean assessment based on the date of
manufacture, the condition of the Laser Product and the type of defect.
Step 2a): Contact your place of purchase. They will assess the nature of the fault and refund or
replace the product as per their store refund or warrantypolicy.
Step 2b): If your place of purchase cannot be contacted, then you can contact Laser . Customer
Service with details of your defective Laser Product: Phone: [phone]; or Email:
[e-mail] or online www.laserco.net/support/warranty (click on “Consumers (End
Users)”). Our business address is at 1/6-8 Byfield Street, North Ryde, NSW 2113
Step 3: Laser. will issue you with a Return Authorisation (RA) number within 48 hours. When
requested, send us the defective Product and a copy of your receipt. Laser will cover the cost of the
return delivery.
Step 4: Wait for us to contact you. Once we have received your defective Laser Product for
inspection, we will inform you of ourassessment of your claim within7 days. When we contact you,
we will firstly let you know whether you have a valid claim under this Warranty, and if so, we will
inform you whether your defective Laser Product will be replaced or repaired, together with the
number of days you can expect to wait to receive your replaced or repaired Laser Product.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You
are entitled toa replacement or refund for a majorfailureand compensation for any other
reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced
if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
