blockstheborebetweentheinlet/outletmusandthevalveisthusclosed.
Themanualversion,TAV100/150MA,requiresnocompressedairbutis
equippedwithaleverforoperaonofthevalve.
Thesealingringsandback-upringssealagainstthedisc.Theback-upringsare
madeofchloroprene.

Fitthevalve”inline”inthevacuumpipe(gure6)ordirectontheequipment
thatitistoserve.Conducngjointsleevesforpipeworkaretobeused.
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage.
Thevalvemustnotbaretheloadofconneconpipesorotherconnecons
whichmaycausedefectsonthevalve.Makesuretheconneconsarermly
installedagainstthewall,ceiling,oororsuchlike.Hoseconneconsmustbe
strainreliefed.
Thecompressedairpipesmustbeblowncleanbeforengthevalve,
gure11.Newcompressedairpipesalwayscontaindirt,whichcouldcause
operaonaldisturbance.Wearearproteconandsafetygoggles.Amoisture
anddirttrapmustbeinstalledifcompressedairisofpoorquality.Anoilmist
lubricangdeviceisnotrequired.
7.1 Electrical installaon
Toensureproperfunconandrequiredlevelofproteconwithregardstothe
equipmentcategory,makesurethatthefollowingpointsarechecked:
•Electricalinstallaonandconneconofthemagnecvalvemustbedone
byaceredelectrician.Aceredelectricianmustalsopayaenonto
thecondionsforinstallaonsinzonesclassiedaccordingtoATEX.
•Checkthatpropermeasureshavebeentakentoavoidalltypesof
electricalstraycurrentstoand/orfromthepipingsystemandelectrical
wiring.NotethattheTAV100/150housingmustbeproperlygrounded.
•ConnectedhosesorpipingmustbeconducveandgroundedtotheTAV
100/150studs(seegure12-15).
•Checkthatthecorrectvoltageisconnectedtothesolenoidofthe
magnecvalve.Checkthemarkingonthesolenoid.
•Electricalopons,likemicroswitches,mustbeconnectedtoanintrinsic
safecircuit(foroponsinstalledinATEXclassiedzones).
7.2 Connecons

• Maximumrecommendedairpressureis1MPa(10bars).Apressure
regulatormustbeinstalledifthepressureislikelytoexceedthemaximum
pressure.Recommendedworkingpressureis0,6-0,7MPa(6-7bars).Min.
pressureforareliablefunconis0.5MPa(5bars).
• Compressedairhosesmustbeapprovedfortheactualpressureandmust
besecurelyfastenedtothevalvenipples.Hoseclipsmustbeedcorrectly.
• Thevalveisdesignedforvacuum,ie,itshouldonlybeinstalledinsystems
workingwithnegavepressurecomparedtoatmosphere.
Figures6-8explainhowtoconnectTAVvalveshavingdierentcontrol
devices.A“asharrow”indicatesanelectricsupply.Pindicatesacompressed
airsupply.
•TAV100/150PC(gure6)isnotedwithitsowncontroldevice.Itis
intendedfordirectcontrolwitharemote3-portpilotvalve(opon).
•TAV100/150MA(gure7)iscontrolledbyahandoperatedlever.Itis
usedwhenthereisnoneedforautomaccontrolling.

solenoidvoltagemustmatchthesignalvoltage.Standardvoltageis24,
42,230VACand24VDC.Thepoweris5VAor5W.
TAV100/150MVcanbedirectlycontrolledbyastaonaryelectricmachine.
However,extrabranchfusesshouldbeusedifthemainsfusesaretoolargefor
thisfuncon.Seeratedvoltageandpoweronthesolenoid.
7.3 Direcons for use

• Keepngersclearothevacuumconneconswhenthevalveisconnected
tocompressedair.Thespringthatclosesthevalveisstrongenoughtocause
discomfort.
• Makesurethesystemdoesnottransportmaterialwhichcandamagethe
TAVvalve.
• Ifanunexpectedobjectcomesintothesystem,shutthecompressedair
supplytothevalveimmediatellyandremovetheobject.
• Thevalvemustnotbeputintoserviceunlthevalveinletandoutletare
connectedtoxedpipesorhosesthatareatleast1metrelong.
7.4 Maintenance
Forserviceandtechnicalsupport,pleasecontactABPh.Nederman&Co.

• Disconnectvoltagepriortoservice.
• Thecompressedairsupplymustbedisconnectedandanyremaining
pressureinthevalveandpneumaccylindersdischargedbefore
commencinganymaintenanceworktothevalve.Ashutovalvebefore
eachTAVvalveisrecommended.
•ThecompressedairsupplytotheTAVvalvemustbedryandclean
(accordingtostandardISO8573-1class5).Dirtmayresultinmalfuncon
bycloggingthecontroldeviceandtherestrictorvalves.Installinganair
ltermaybenecessaryifcloggingoccurs.
•Makesuretheinsideofthevalveandtheconneconpipesarefree
fromdeposits.Buildupofdepositsinsidethepipingsystemmaycause
dischargeofstacelectricity.
•MakesuretheoutsideoftheTAVvalve,andparcularlythesolenoid,are
freefromdustlayers.
•Oilyandsckysubstancescansomemesscktothevalveblade
resulnginjammingsothatthevalvedoesnotclosecompletely.The
valvemustthenbedismantledforcleaning.
•Thebackupringsofchloropreneareresistanttomostsubstancesin
reasonablequanes.Oilinalargequantycancauseswellingtothe
ringsresulnginjamming.Inextremesituaonsitmayprovenecessary
tochangetovitonrings,whichareresistanttomostsubstances.Please
consultthesparepartlist.
•Aerafewthousandoperaonsthesealingringsandtheback-uprings
shouldbeexchangedinordertoavoidleakage

7.5 Service and Maintenance of ATEX equipment
Toensuretherequiredlevelofproteconwithregardstotheequipment
category,checkthefollowingpoints:
•EnsurethattheTAVvalveisregularlyinspectedfordamageor
malfuncon.Ifthevalveisdamageditmustbereplacedorremoved
immediatelyfromtheclassiedarea.
•Ensurethatnoexplosiveatmosphereand/ordustlayersarepresent
whencleaning,servicingorinspecngtheTAVvalve.
•Ensurethatonlyoriginal(OEM)sparepartsareused.
•EnsurethattheTAVvalveisnotcoveredwiththickdustlayers(>5mm).
Thisispreventedbysenguprounesforregularcleaningandincluding
theseintheexplosionprotecondocument.
8 Accessories
1. AS-setwithmicroswitchandconneconboxforthepilotsignal.The
switchcontrolsthevacuumplanttomakeitstopwhenallvalvesare
closedandmakeitstartagainassoonasavalveisopened.Apilotsignal
