ofsomeofthesubstanceswhicharerequiredbyadvancedtechnology,soundjudgementshouldgoverntheuseand
disposalofproductsofachemicalandpetrochemicalnature.
NOTICE:Thefollowingarerecommendationswhichmaybeofassistance:
•Becomeacquaintedwithandensurethatyouunderstandtherelativelegislationapplicabletoyourcountry.
•Wherenolegislationexists,obtaininformationfromsuppliersofoils,lters,batteries,fuels,antifreeze,cleaning

•Avoidllingtanksusingcansorinappropriatepressurizedfueldeliverysystemswhichmaycauseconsiderable

maybeharmfultoyourhealth.
•Modernoilscontainadditives.Donotburncontaminatedfuelsandorwasteoilsinordinaryheatingsystems.
•Avoidspillagewhendrainingoffusedenginecoolantmixtures,engine,gearboxandhydraulicoils,brakeuids,
etc.Donotmixdrainedbrakeuidsorfuelswithlubricants.Storethemsafelyuntiltheycanbedisposedofin
aproperwaytocomplywithlocallegislationandavailableresources.
•Moderncoolantmixtures,i.e.antifreezeandotheradditives,shouldbereplacedeverytwoyears.Theyshould
notbeallowedtogetintothesoilbutshouldbecollectedanddisposedofproperly.
•Donotopentheair-conditioningsystemyourself.Itcontainsgaseswhichshouldnotbereleasedintotheat-
mosphere.YourNEWHOLLANDCONSTRUCTIONdealerorairconditioningspecialisthasaspecialextractor
forthispurposeandwillhavetorechargethesystemproperly.
•Repairanyleaksordefectsintheenginecoolingorhydraulicsystemimmediately.
•Donotincreasethepressureinapressurizedcircuitasthismayleadtoacomponentfailure.
•Protecthosesduringweldingaspenetratingweldsplattermayburnaholeorweakenthem,allowingthelossof
oils,coolant,etc.

Carefullystudytheseprecautions,andthoseincludedintheexternalattachmentoperators
manual,andinsistthattheybefollowedbythoseworkingwithandforyou.
1.Thoroughlyreadandunderstandthismanualandtheattachmentoperatorsmanualbeforeoperatingthisorany
otherequipment.
2.Besureeveryoneisclearofthemachinebeforestarting.Blowthehorn,ifequipped,threetimesbeforestarting
engine.
3.Onlytheoperatorshouldbeonthemachinewheninoperation.Neverallowanyonetoclimbontothemachine
whileitisinmotion.IfthemachineisequippedwithanInstructorsSeat,thismustonlybeusedfortraining
purposes.PassengersmustnotbeallowedtousetheInstructorsSeat.
4.Keepallshieldsinplace.Neverworkaroundthemachineoranyoftheattachmentswhilewearinglooseclothing
thatmightcatchonmovingparts.
5.Observethefollowingprecautionswheneverlubricatingthemachineormakingadjustments.
•Disengageallclutchingleversorswitches.
•Lowertheattachment,ifequipped,tothegroundorraisetheattachmentcompletelyandengage
thecylindersafetylocks.Completingtheseactionswillpreventtheattachmentfromloweringun-
expectedly.
•Engagetheparkingbrake.
•Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
6.Alwayskeepthemachineingearwhilegoingdownhill.
7.Themachineshouldalwaysbeequippedwithsufcientfrontorrearaxleweightforsafeoperation.
8.Undersomeeldconditions,moreweightmayberequiredatthefrontorrearaxleforadequatestability.This
isespeciallyimportantwhenoperatinginhillyconditionsor/whenusingheavyattachments.
9.Alwayslowertheattachment,shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,engagethetransmissiongearsand
removethekeybeforeleavingtheoperatorsplatform.
10.Iftheattachmentormachineshouldbecomeobstructedorplugged;settheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine
andremovethekey,engagethetransmissiongears,waitforallmachineorattachmentmotiontocometoa
stop,beforeleavingtheoperatorsplatformtoremovingtheobstructionorplug.
11.Neverdisconnectormakeanyadjustmentstothehydraulicsystemunlessthemachineand/ortheattachment
isloweredtothegroundorthesafetylock(s)isintheengagedposition.
12.Useoftheashinglightsishighlyrecommendedwhenoperatingonapublicroad.
13.Whentransportingonaroadorhighway,useaccessorylightsanddevicesforadequatewarningtotheoperators
ofothervehicles.Inthisregard,checklocalgovernmentregulations.Varioussafetylightsanddevicesare
availablefromyourNEWHOLLANDCONSTRUCTIONdealer.
14.Practicesafety365daysayear.
15.Keepallyourequipmentinsafeoperatingcondition.
16.Keepallguardsandsafetydevicesinplace.
17.Alwayssettheparkingbrake,shutofftheengineandremovethekey,engagethetransmissiongears,waitforall
machineorattachmentmotiontocometoastop,beforeleavingtheoperatorsplatformtoservicethemachine
andattachment.
