Intendeduse
T9.seriestractorswithstandardequipmentandautho-
rizedattachments,areintendedtobeusedforcustomary
farming,landlevelingandrelatedagricultureoperations
(intendeduse).Thistractorisnotintendedforforestry
useorforusewithloaders.Thecabonthistractordoes
notoffersufcientprotectionforforestrywork.
Installationofutility(dozer)blades,tileplows,frontload-
ersorpushbarsonthetractorisnotapproved.Anytrac-
tordamageresultingfromtheinstallationand/oruseof
suchequipmentisnotcoveredbythetractorwarranty.
ConsultanauthorizeddealerorCNHIndustrialAmerica
LLConchanges,additionsormodicationsthatcanbe
requiredforthismachinetocomplywithvariousregula-
tionsandsafetyrequirements.Unauthorizedmodica-
tionswillcauseseriousinjuryordeath.Anyonemak-
ingsuchunauthorizedmodicationsisresponsibleforthe

Thismanualprovidesinformationontheintendeduseof
yourtractorundertheconditionsforeseenbytheman-
ufacturerduringnormaloperation,routineserviceand
maintenanceandperiodicserviceandmaintenance.
Normaloperationisuseofthetractorforthepurposein-
tendedbythemanufacturerbyanowner/operatorwhois
familiarwiththetractorandthemountedortowedequip-
ment,andwhoiscomplyingwiththeinformationonoper-
ationandsafepractices,providedinthismanualandby
thedecalsonthetractorandtheequipment.
Normaloperationincludessuchactionsaspreparingthe
tractorforstorageandremovingthetractorfromstorage,
addingorremovingballast,connectinganddisconnect-
ingmountedortowedequipment,raisingandlowering
componentsintooroutofworkposition,adjustingtractor
settingsforspeciceldorcropsettings,etc.
Routineserviceandmaintenancearethoseactionswhich
mustbeperformeddailytomaintainpropertractorfunc-
tionbyanowner/operatorwhoisfamiliarwithtractorchar-
acteristics,andwhoiscomplyingwiththeinformationon
routineserviceandsafepracticesinthismanualandin
thedecalsonthetractor.
Routineserviceandmaintenanceincludessuchactions
asfueling,cleaning,washing,toppingoffuidlevels,
greasing,andreplacingconsumablearticlessuchas
lampbulbs.
Periodicserviceandmaintenancearethoseactions
whichmustbeperformedatregularlydenedintervals
tomaintainpropertractorfunctionbyanowner/operator
whoisfamiliarwithtractorcharacteristics,andwhois
complyingwiththeinformationonperiodicserviceand
safepracticesinthismanualandinthedecalsonthe
tractor.
Periodicserviceandmaintenanceincludessuchactions
aschecking,cleaningandchangingairlters,changing
engineoilandlters,changingtransmissionoilandl-
ters,changingfrontaxleandwheelhubuids,changing
coolant,etc.
Someactionsintheperiodicserviceandmaintenance
chartarebeyondtheknowledgeandskillsoftheowner/
operator:forexample,enginevalveadjustment,fuelin-
jectornozzles.Fortheseactions,themanualinstructs
theowner/operatortohavetheactionperformedbytheir
authorizeddealer.
Thismanualdoesnotcontainalltheinformationrelated
toperiodicalserviceandmaintenance,convertingandre-
pairstobecarriedoutbyprofessionalservicepersonnel.
Theseactionsrequirespecialfacilities,technicalskills,
and/ortoolswhicharenotsuppliedwiththemachine.
Convertingischangingthetractorcongurationfora
speciccroporsoilconditionandrequiresrebuildingor
addingcomponentstothevehicle:forexample,instal-
lationofdualwheels.Repairingisthedisassemblyand
assemblyofthetractortorestoreproperoperationafter
acomponentfailureordegradationofperformance.
