Using the pram insert
The pram insert has been designed to be used solely for you.
Fitting and removing of your pram insert
Your clinician will have shown you how to fit and remove the insert and the correct
routing of all harnessing. The information below is provided as a reminder.
1
The seat cushion should be fitted first.
It should be aligned straight within the seat with
the harness strap lining up with the slot if present.
In most cases the front edge of the cushion will sit
in line with the front edge of the seat canvas.

The back cushion should be fitted next.
This sits on top of the seat cushion with the back
in contact with the backrest of the pram.
3
Make sure all harnessing is located in the
corresponding slots.
4
It is important to make sure harnessing is located
correctly and pulled through the slots to make
sure the user can be comfortably supported in the
seat.
The harnessing should be fastened at all
times when the user is in the pram.

To remove the pram insert - remove the harnessing from the slots, remove the back
cushion and finally remove the seat cushion. Your pram insert should always be
removed before folding your pram.
Routine Checks
Before you use your pram insert always visually check for wear to the cushions. You
should check the pram insert for wear and tear at least once a month. Always make
sure that the cushions are correctly and securely fitted, this is particularly important if the
pram insert has been removed previously for folding or cleaning.
The foam of the seat and, or back cushion may be covered in a platilon liner (a clear
stretchy plastic), which should not be removed as this provides extra protection for the
foam. If the liner becomes ripped or the foam of the seat or back cushion becomes
soiled, please contact WestMARC.
If you think any part is worn, unable to be fitted correctly or missing, please
contact WestMARC at the earliest opportunity.
If the foam becomes degraded it may impact on the effectiveness of the
cushions which may increase risk of discomfort and pressure related
issues.
Cleaning and care
Cleaning cushion covers
- To remove everyday dirt wash with a mild soap and warm water solution and dry with a
soft cloth.
- For more difficult stains the cushion covers can be unzipped and removed for washing
at 40º in a washing machine with normal household detergent. Always refasten the zip
before washing and do not turn the covers inside-out. Washing at higher temperature
may cause shrinkage of the covers.
Drying cushion covers
- It is recommended that the covers are drip-dried on a washing line or bar in a clean
environment.
- You should not tumble dry the covers as this may cause the covers to shrink.
Do not soak or submerge the cushion foam in water or other fluids. If the
foam becomes saturated allow to drip-dry for as long as possible.
Do not tumble dry the cushion foam.
