NIKE SPORTBAND
TEST INSTRUCTIONS
JANUARY 16TH, 2008

IMPORTANT NOTES:
BATTERY CHARGING: The SportBand will need
to be charged. The SportBand will run for 3 hours
on a full charge. Plug the device into USB for 5
hours to completely charge the device.
DISPLAY: The EUT are pre-production
prototypes. Even though not all of the segments
on the displays work, the SportBand is fully
functional.
EMPED: The EUT also include a Nike Emped
which is used to send data to the SportBand while
it is in receive mode. Emped shown below:

TESTING MODES: There are 7 different modes
for testing the device. Press the top bottom to
cycle between modes.
OFF: This is the default state of the device when
it has been removed from USB charging
CWHI- Constant Wave High: the device
transmits a steady carrier wave at 0 dBm
TRHI- Transmit High: The device transmits data
packets at 0 dBm
REHI- Receive High: The device is in receive
mode at 0 dBm.
CWLO- Constant Wave High: the device
transmits a steady carrier wave at -5 dBm
TRLO- Transmit High: The device transmits data
packets at -5 dBm
RELO- Receive High: The device is in receive
mode at -5 dBm.

OFF: This is the default state of the device when
it has been removed from USB charging
CWHI- Constant Wave High: the device
transmits a steady carrier wave at 0 dBm
TRHI- Transmit High: The device transmits data
packets at 0 dBm

REHI- Receive High: The device is in receive
mode at 0 dBm. To send data to the SportBand
tap the Emped on a hard surface. The display will
blink each time the SportBand receives a data
packet.
CWLO- Constant Wave High: the device
transmits a steady carrier wave at -5 dBm

TRLO- Transmit High: The device transmits data
packets at -5 dBm
RELO- Receive High: The device is in receive
mode at -5 dBm.
Press the top button one more time to return to
OFF mode.
