anycontactwitheyes, skinormouth.Donot
breathe anyvapours.Keep awayfrom ignition
sources.Followthe instructionsand safetyprecau-
tionsofthe manufacturercarefully. Firstaidfor
contactwith eyes: Flushthe eyewithclean water
holding theeyelidopen. Immediatelyconsultmedi-
caladvice. Keepthese instructionssafe.
1.PackageContents
Thefollowing items shouldbe

2.BaseConstruction
Thebaseofamodelrailroad layout
shouldbeoflowvibration and without
deformations.Werecommenda
blockboardthatismountedonasta-
bleframe(forexampleaNOCH alu-
miniumframe).
3.ToolsandMaterials
Inordertoproperlyassemblethe
bridge,werecommend thefollowing
toolsandmaterials:
•Smallcrosstipscrewdriver
•Handorelectricdrill with1,0mm
and 2,5mm drillbits
•Smallwater-level
•Sidecutter
•Smallironrasp
•Smallanglewithapproximately
8cm brackets
•Cutterfordeflashing thecutangle
partsandbridgecaps
•Greypaintandpaintbrushfor
paintingthevisiblewoodenparts.
4. Glue
Werecommendaliquid,plasticsafe
model gluefortheplasticparts.Apply
whiteglue forthewoodenparts.
Whenyouassemblewood and plastic
parts,useallpurposeglueorcontact
glue.Pleasevisityourlocalhobby
shoptopurchasetheglue.
5. Assembly
Note:Takeenough timeforassem-
blingthebridge.The differentglued
partsneedsufficienttimetodry.
Pleasekeep tothegiven timeand
profitfromourexperience.
Inthiswaythebridgewillgiveyou
satisfactionandenrichyourlayout.
Thebridgeisplannedwithtwomod-
ernpiersinthemiddle.Butyoucan
alsosharethebridge1/3to2/3ifyour
model landscaperequires(e.g.2/3
waterand1/3track orroad).Toavoid
mistakeswefirstrecommendtostick
thepartstogetherwithoutglue.Your
workwillbeeasierifyou markthe
lettersonthepartswithapencil
whentaking themoutofthe bags.So
youwillnot mixupthe parts.

Takecarethatthepiersareparallelto

TakethetwopillarpartsE1(1)and
thetwosegmentholdersE1(2)from
bagE1. Applyglueon thebacksideof
thesegmentholdersandclipthem
intotheholesofthepillarparts.Then
adjust them(right angle).
Now(afterstickingthe partstogether
withoutglueandthemarkingofthe
partswithapencilfrombagF1)you
cangluebothpillerbottomparts.
MakebothpillarpartsE1(1)longer
with2pillarpartsF7-F8.Thenglue4
similarpillarstogetherwiththe parts
frombagF1.Thetworemainingbot-
tomplatesF1(6)shouldbestick as
closing partsunderthetwopillarswith
thesegmentholders.Nowyoucan
glue3pillarpartstogether,onepillar
F1totherightandonetothe left be-
sidethetwopillarpartsFwiththe
segmentholders.Itisveryimportant
toglueallplasticpartswelltogether
andtoletthemdry24hours.Layall
partsonaneven surface(e.g. glass),
andchecktheirpositions.
If itisnecessarytomakethebridge
shorter,youshould shortenthe road-
ways,thestringboardbridgebases
andtheundersidebridgebasesbythe
samesizefromthe bridgeendsbe-
foreassembly.

Nowyou haveenoughtimetoas-
semblethebridgebase.Takethe two
topside bridgebases(500 x145
mm),applyglueontheshortsides
andgluethetwobridge basesto-
getheron aneven underlaymakinga
1mlongbridge base.(illustration3).

Then glueon allbridgecapswith
contactglue.Beginwiththe 4narrow
capsectionsandthe4notchedcaps
frombagE1onbothsidesof themid-
dleofthebridgebase.Onthesides
glue onthebridgecapsfromthebags
Juntilthe bridgeends.
Afteryouhaveglued onallbridge
capsyouhavetodrilltheholesforthe
rope.Forthispurposeyouneeda
2,5mm drill.Firstmarkthe holeson
theupperside ofthebridgecaps,
closelytotheuprightstandinginside
edge.
Calculatethedistancesfromthe
middleofthebridgeevenlyinboth
directions. Beginwiththe firstholeat
3,5cm.Thenext4holesarepositio-
nedeach6cm fromeachother.

Attention: Whendrillingthe holes
keepthedrillslopingoutwardsinor-
dernottotouchthe stringboardbridge

Nowturnthetopsidebridge base
upsidedown(bottomsideupwards).
Nowweglue thestringboardbridge
bases.Begininthemiddleofthe
bridgeagain.Firstmarkthemiddleof
thetwo500x15mm stringboard
bridgebases.Nowapplywhiteglue
on onelongitudinal edge,lineupthe
middlemarkingtothe middleofthe
bridgeandplacethe stringboard
bridgebaseonthebottomsideofthe
topsidebridge base,directlyatthe
sidesofthebridgecaps.
Placethetwoshort stringboardbridge
basesinthesamewaytotheright
andtotheleftofthemiddlepart.Do
thesameontheotherside.
Tosupportthestringboardbridge
basesyouhavetoglueonthe glue
aids.Theyshouldpreventthatthe
stringboardbridgebasessnap.

Assoonastheglueaidsaredry,
applyglueonthemandapplyglue on

placed.Firstplacethe insideparton
thebasepart andthenbothsideparts
on theinsidepartand on the base
part. Takecarethatthepartsare
exactlyplaced.
Assoonasthesepartsaredried,you
cangluethecardboardwallplateson
thethreeoutersidesoneachbridge-
head.ForthispurposetheNOCH
sprayglue“Haftfix”(itemref. 61150).
isverysuitable. Spraytheglue onthe
woodand onthe cardboardwallsas
well.

Thereadybridgeheadsshouldbe
tentativelyputontheendsofthe
bridgebasestochecktheirexact
seat.
Thesidepartsreachoverthestring-
boardbridgebasesandtouchthe
bottomsideofthebridgecaps.Glue
thebridgeheadsinthisposition.
If allgluedpartsaredry,gluethetwo
3-foldpierunderpartswiththeseg-
mentholdersinthefreespaceinthe
middleofthebridgebasewithcontact
glue.
If youwanttoplacethepylonas-
symetricallyon thebridge (2/3to1/3),
sotheshorttopside bridgebase
wouldbe36 cmlongandthe longtop
sidebridgebasewouldbe64cm
long.
Accordingtothistherouteholders
andthe notched bridge headsareto
be gluedattheside(asdescribed
before).
Thedrillholesbeginontheshort
routesideat5,5cm fromthemiddle
ofthepylon.Thenext4holesare
eachinadistanceof5cm fromeach
other.Atthelongroutesidedrill the
firsthole11,5cm fromthemiddleof
thepier.
Thefollowing4holeshaveadistance
of10cm each(illustration9).

hours(veryimportant!)

6.Suspensionrope
Taketheredrope,the endwiththe
knot, andlock it inplaceasfollows:
Screwoneoftheshortclampstrips
with2screwsparalleltoandinadis-
tanceof2,5-3cm fromthestring-
boardbridgebaseinfrontofahole
that isnext tothemiddleofthebridge
(illustration 10).

Nowpulltheropewiththethreadaid
fromthebottomthroughthefirsthole,
thenthrough the lowestholeofthe
rightpiertop,thendowntothefirst
holeafterthemiddleon thesame
bridgeside.
Nowpulltheropefromthebottom
throughthe next hole, up tothe
secondhole ofthepiertop,and then
downtothenext outsidehole.
Fromtherepulltheropeunderthe
undersidebridge basethroughthe
thirdhole andthenthroughthethird
holeinthepiertop.
If you arereadywiththe rightside,
turntothe leftsideandtighten the
ropeinthesameway,butinthe
reversed order.
Theendofthe ropeisin theholethat
isplacednexttothe leftpier(opposite
tothebeginning ofthe rope).
Screwthe second clampstriponthe
undersidebridgebaseandpullthe
endoftheropethroughitbutdonot
lock it inplacebyscrewing yet.
Nowbegintotightentherope.Begin
againatthe firstholeandpullthe
ropein awaysothatitistightbutnot
toostronglytightened.

Gooninthe sameorderasyoudid
whenpullingthroughthe rope.Then
pullthe endoftheropeunderthe
secondclampstrip,tightenitand
screwtheclampstriptight. Sothe
endoftherope cannotslip.
Checktheentirerope tensionagain.
Thenmakeaknotintotheropeafter
thesecondclampstripandcutoff the
restoftherope.
Cutoffthestickingoutscrewsonthe
topside bridgebasewithasidecutter
andmakethescrewssmoothwithan
ironrasp.
Checkthe bridgeifeverythingisall
right.Then gluetheremainingglue
aidstothe insideofthe stringboard
bridge basesand thengluethe3un-
dersidebridge basesonthem(the
shortpartinthe middleand thetwo
longerpartsoutside). Thenapplygray
paintonthewoodenpartswhichcan
be seen(thecolourofthepaint
shouldmatchthecolouroftheplastic
parts).
Nowglue the4counterbearingsand
fixthemwithcontactglueonthein-
sideofthe twobridgeheadsandon
theunderside bridgebases,onthe
placesthatyoumarkedinthebegin-
ning.
Nowyourbridge isreadyforbeing
inserted intoyourmodellayoutand
youcancreatethelandscapeatthe
bridge ends.Afterlaying downthe
tracks andscattering ballastonthe
bridge baseyoucanglueonthe
bridge railings.
Wewishyoumuchfunbuildingyour
