SWITCH ON SAFELY
Do not switch the device on when wireless phone use
is prohibited or when it may cause interference or
danger.
ROAD SAFETY COMES FIRST
Obey all local laws. Always keep your hands free to
operate the vehicle while driving. Your first
consideration while driving should be road safety.
INTERFERENCE
All wireless devices may be susceptible to
interference, which could affect performance.
SWITCH OFF IN RESTRICTED AREAS
Follow any restrictions. Switch the device off in
aircraft, near medical equipment, fuel, chemicals, or
blasting areas.
QUALIFIED SERVICE
Only qualified personnel may install or repair this
product.

Welcome
Congratulations on your purchase of the RM-376 mobile
device. It provides many functions for practical daily use,
such as a hands-free loudspeaker, an alarm clock, a
calculator, a calendar, and more. Your device can connect
to a PC, laptop, or other device using a data cable. To
personalise it, you can set your favourite ringing tones,
wallpaper, screensaver, and other features.
■About your device
The wireless device described in this guide is approved for
use on the CDMA 800 MHz and CDMA 2000 1xRTT network.
Contact your service provider for more information about
networks.
When using the features in this device, obey all laws and
respect local customs, privacy and legitimate rights of
others, including copyrights.
When connecting to any other device, read its user guide
for detailed safety instructions. Do not connect
incompatible products.

■Network services
To use the phone you must have service from a wireless
service provider. Many of the features require special
network features. These features are not available on all
networks; other networks may require that you make
specific arrangements with your service provider before
you can use the network services. Your service provider
can give you instructions and explain what charges will
apply. Some networks may have limitations that affect
how you can use network services. For instance, some
networks may not support all language-dependent
characters and services.
Your service provider may have requested that certain
features be disabled or not activated in your device. If so,
these features will not appear on your device menu. Your
device may also have a special configuration such as
changes in menu names, menu order, and icons. Contact
your service provider for more information.
This device supports WAP 2.0 protocols (HTTP and SSL)
that run on TCP/IP protocols. Some features of this device,
such as media and browser messages require network
support for these technologies.

■Standby mode
Depending on your wireless service provider and the
model number of your device, some or all of the following
indicators, icons, and shortcut keys may be available in
the standby mode.
Standby screen
The start screen indicates that your
device is in the standby mode.
1. Signal strength — The strength of
the signal received by the device is
indicated by the number of bars
displayed.
2. Battery strength — Four bars
indicate a fully charged battery.
3. Time — The time of day is
displayed.
4. Names — Press the right selection
key to select this option.
5. Menu — Press the centre selection
key to select this option.

6. Go to — Press the left selection key to select this
option.
Go to provides a list of your favourite applications and
functions for quick and easy access. The first time you
select Go to, no applications or functions are displayed. To
add items to the list, select Add and from the available
options.
Active standby
The active standby mode displays a list of selected device
features and information that you can directly access,
such as application shortcuts, information from the radio,
calendar events, and a customisable note. To turn active
standby mode on or off and to configure settings, select
Menu > Settings > Display > Active standby and from the
available options.
When active standby is idle, you can only view content. To
activate the navigation mode and access content, scroll
down. To exit the navigation mode, select Exit. If no keys
are pressed in a certain time, the phone automatically
returns to the idle mode.

Content items in the navigation mode
The following default items may be available in the
navigation mode:
Audio Applications — Switch on the radio. To change the
station, scroll left or right. To search for radio stations,
scroll and hold left or right.
Calendar — View today’s notes. To view notes for other
days, scroll left or right.
Countdown Timer — Set the normal or interval timer.
Indicators — View the date and day of the week.
My Note — To enter a personalised note, select Edit.
Shortcut Bar — To select a shortcut, scroll left or right. To
select and organise shortcuts when in the navigation
mode, select Options.

Shortcut keys
The following shortcut keys may be available in the
standby mode.
Scroll up — Go to Names.
Scroll right — Go to Calendar.
Scroll down — You can define this shortcut. See "My
shortcuts", page 50.
Scroll left — Go to the text messages inbox.
■Scroll key
You can use the four-way scroll key to scroll up, down,
left, and right through menus.
1. In the standby mode, select Menu to scroll through the
main menus. As you scroll through the menus, the
menu number is displayed. There is a scroll bar with a
tab that moves up or down as you scroll through the
menus, to represent your current position in the menu
structure.
2. When you arrive at a menu, press the centre selection
key to access the submenus.

•SelectBack (the right selection key) to return to the
previous menu.
• Press the end key to return to the standby mode
from any menu or submenu.
■Security code settings
You can use security codes to protect your device and UIM
card from unauthorised access. You can activate the lock
code, PIN code, and PIN2 code. When a security code is set
and turned on, no outgoing calls are allowed and the
menu cannot be accessed without entering the correct
code first.
Lock code — Protects your device from unauthorised
access. The default lock code is 1234.
PIN code — Protects your UIM card from unauthorised
access. The PIN code can be 4 to 8 digits in length. The
default PIN code may vary depending on your wireless
service provider.
PIN2 code — Supplied with some UIM cards, and is
required to access some functions in your device. The PIN2
code can be 4 to 8 digits in length.

After three successive incorrect entries, the PIN code or
PIN2 code is blocked. To unblock it, you must enter your
personal unblocking key (PUK) code or PUK2 code. If you
do not have this, contact your service provider.
You can change the lock code, PIN code, and PIN2 code.
These codes can only include the numbers from 0to 9. If
you forget any of these codes, contact your service
provider.
To configure security code settings, select Menu >
Settings > Security, enter your default lock code and
select OK, and from the available options.

2. Set up your device
■Antenna
Your device may have internal
and external antennas. As with
any radio transmitting device,
avoid touching the antenna area
unnecessarily while the antenna
is transmitting or receiving.
Contact with such an antenna
affects the communication quality and may cause the
device to operate at a higher power level than otherwise
needed and may reduce the battery life.
■Insert battery and UIM card
Note: Always switch off the power and disconnect
the charger and any other device before removing
the cover. Avoid touching electronic components
while changing the cover. Always store and use the
device with the cover attached.
