NokiarequiresthatservicepointshavesufficientESDprotection(againststatic
electricity)whenservicing the phone.
Anyproductof whichthe coversare removedmust behandled with ESD
protection. TheSIMcardcanbereplaced without ESDprotectionif the product
is otherwisereadyfor use.
To replacethe coversESDprotectionmust beapplied.
Allelectronicparts ofthe productaresusceptibletoESD. Resistors, too, canbe
damagedbystaticelectricitydischarge.

Note:Anew battery"sfullperformanceis achieved onlyaftertwo or threecompletechargeand
dischargecycles! The batterycanbechargedanddischargedhundreds oftimesbut itwill
eventuallywear out.
When theoperatingtime(talk-timeandstandbytime)is noticeablyshorter thannormal, itis
timeto buyanew battery. Use onlybatteriesapproved bythe phonemanufacturerand
rechargethe batteryonlywiththe chargersapproved bythe manufacturer.
Unplug the chargerwhen notin use. Do notleavethebatteryconnectedtoacharger for longer
thanaweek, sinceovercharging mayshortenitslifetime.
Ifleftunusedafullychargedbatterywilldischargeitself over timeTemperatureextremescan
affecttheabilityof your batteryto charge.
For goodoperationtimes with Ni-Cd/NiMhbatteries, dischargethe batteryfromtimeto timeby
leaving theproductswitchedonuntilitturnsitself off (or byusing thebatterydischargefacility
of anyapproved accessoryavailable for the product).
Do notattemptto dischargethe batteryby anyothermeansUse the batteryonlyforits
intendedpurpose.
Never useanycharger or batterywhich is damaged.
Do notshort-circuitthebattery. Accidental short-circuiting canoccur whenametallicobject
(coin, clip or pen) causes directconnectionof the+and -terminals of thebattery(metal strips
onthebattery) for examplewhenyoucarryasparebatteryin your pocketor purse.
Shortcircuitingtheterminalsmaydamage thebatteryor theconnecting object.
Leaving thebatteryinhotor coldplaces, such as in aclosed car insummer or winter conditions,
willreducethecapacityandlifetimeof the battery. Alwaystryto keep the batterybetween15°C
and 25°C (59°Fand 77°F).
Aphone withahotor cold batterymaytemporarilynotwork, evenwhen thebatteryis fully
charged. Batteries"performance is particularlylimitedin temperatureswell below freezing.
Do notdispose batteriesin afire! Disposeof batteries accordingto localregulations (e.g.
recycling).
Do notdispose ashouseholdwaste.

COVERASSY as shown.
8)Then separate theNUMERIC KEYMAT ASSY from
the E-COVERASSY. TheNUMERICKEYMAT ASSY must
alwaysberenewed.
9)Unscrewthefour TORX+size6screwsin the
order shown. Do notusethemagain.Discardthem.
10) BeforeremovingtheD-COVER ASSY, open the
USB DOOR.
11) ReleasetheD-COVERASSYas shown.12)Usethe SS-93to carefullyliftup theboardto
boardconnector SHIELDLID.The boardto board
connector SHIELDLIDhastobealwaysrenewed.

13) Turnover the engineboard. 14) Disconnectthe UIFLEX connector withthe SS-93.
Becarefulnotto damagetheconnectoror any
nearbycomponents.
15) The engineboardand the SLIDEMODULEcanbe
now separated.
16) Usethe tweezersto peel off the SPEAKER MESH.
Detach the corner of theDOMESHEET withthe dental
tooland then peel off the DOMESHEET. Beawareof
the sharp point of the dentaltool-becareful notto
injureyourself.
Do notusetheSPEAKER MESHandDOMESHEET again.
17) Use thecameraremovaltoolSS-88todetach
the CAMERA.
18) PullouttheUSB DOOR.

19) Use the tweezerstocarefullyreleasethe clip
holding theSPEAKER OUTLTRIM TOPASSY.
20) DetachtheSPEAKER OUTLTRIM TOP ASSY.
21) Liftup the AV jackwithan AV plug and remove
the AVjackwiththe tweezers.
22) ReleasetheDC jackwithaDC plug. Use the
tweezersto removetheDC jack.
23) Liftup the IHF SPEAKER withthe dentaltooland
removethe speaker withthetweezers.
24) RemovetheSPEAKER ADHESIVEwith the
tweezers. Donotuse theadhesiveagain.Discardit.

25) Use the SS-93to release theANTENNAMODULE.
Press the ANTENNAMODULElightlythroughtheD-
COVER.
26) Liftup the IHF SPEAKER withthe dentaltooland
removethespeaker with the tweezers. Removethe
SPEAKER ADHESIVEwiththetweezers.Do notuse
theadhesiveagain. Discardit.
27) Use the dentaltoolto carefullyliftup the
MICROPHONE.
28) Makesuretheslide ispositioned asshownin
the picture. Unscrewthetwo TORX+size5screwsin
the order shown. Do notusethemagain. Discard
them.
29) InserttheSRT-6betweenthe A-COVERASSY, and
the SLIDEMODULEASSEMBLY.Slide theSRT-6along
the edges to releasetheclipsholding the A-COVER
ASSY.
30) Makesurealltheclipsarereleased.

directionshown.
32) ProtecttheLCDwithprotectivefilm.
33) Use theSS-93to open theLCDCONNECTOR. While
opening the connector becarefulnotto damageit.
34) Use the dentaltoolto slightlyliftup theLCD. Be
verycarefulnotto breaktheLCD!
35) Use the SS-93to loosentheadhesive
underneaththe LCD. Thenliftup the LCD.
36) Use the sharp endof theSS-93to releasethe
EARPIECE. RemovetheEARPIECEwiththetweezers.
