5. The device can be cleaned only wi h a damp clo h af er he power supply has been swi ched off.
Avoid s rong de ergen s (liquids and sprays). Mild de ergen s can be used if he recorder becomes
very dir y.
6. Power supply uni cords and signal cords should be laid in a way ha elimina es he risk of
mechanical damage; special a en ion should be paid o he plug. Be careful no o overload socke s
and ex ension cords so ha here is no fire.
7. To avoid recorder’s damage vision and con rol signals should be equipped wi h sys ems pro ec ing
agains dis urbances, over vol age and a mospheric discharge ha are in compliance wi h Polish
regula ions. I is also advised o use ground loop isola ors.

Before device ins alla ion and opera ion please analyze he scheme shown below. Depending on
specific user needs and requiremen s each sys em will consis of various number of ex ernal devices.

1. ON/OFF BUTTON LED is ligh ning when supply power is on. Af er pressing he bu on
recorder s ar s. Pressing he bu on, when recorder is on, logs he
user ou and shu s down he recorder.
2. USB PORTS USB por s o connec mouse or ex ernal memory for backup records
and firmware upgrade.

4. POWER, RECORDING AND NETWORK LEDS
Red power LED is ligh ning when recorder is on.
Red recording LED is ligh ning when video is recorded.

5. 1~16 (1~8) Displayed channel selec ion. When you press a bu on i m a g e
from a camera connec ed o his channel is displayed. Images are
displayed in full screen mode. Bu ons are also used during
inser ing password.

6. BUTTONS By pressing he bu ons in playback mode changes playback
direc ion forward or backward .
In PTZ mode bu ons are used o con rol image sharpness.
7. BUTTON In pla yback mode bu on pauses he video. Second pressing
s ar s playback again.
In PTZ mode bu on is used o save curren camera posi ion.
8. BUTTONS In playback mode bu ons change playback speed.
Successive pressing one of he bu ons increases playback speed
o: x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64.
In PTZ mode bu ons are used o change focal leng h.

9. JOG wheel JOG wheel, in playback mode, changes forward or backward display
speed o: x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64.
Cen re par of he JOG wheel enable playback in image by image
mode.
Fron panel bu ons are highligh ed in green.
All ac ive bu ons are highligh ed. The number of ac ive bu ons depends on DVR opera ion mode (Live
view, playback, PTZ con rol).

2.5. HDD Installation
DVRs NV-DVR4508 i NV-DVR4516 suppor up o 4 hard disks (af er DVD-RW removal)
OTE: It is recommended to use Hitachi and Seagate disks
Maximum single disk ca acity is 1TB SATA.
OTE: It is not recommended to use Samsung or Western Digital disks. OVUS
SECURITY S . z o.o. does not take any res onsibility for roblems caused by
using not recommended hard disks
OTE: If disk was reviously used in other devices it is necessary to format the diskas all
data on that disk can be erased.
TURIG THE POWER O
Switching ower button into O osition starts the recorder. System loading may last about
30 seconds. It is strongly recommended not to initialize any function or ress any button during
that time. Switching ower button into OFF osition turns the recorder off.

3. RECORDER’S MEU
NV-DVR4508 and NV-DVR4516 recorders have mul ilevel menus displayed on he screen.
The menu is mul ilingual and i can be displayed in English, German, Spanish, Polish or Russian.
The only difference be ween 8– and 16-channel versions is he amoun of channels. There are 8 or 16
vision channels, alarm inpu s e c.
Before using your DVR for he firs ime, you need o es ablish he ini ial se ings. This includes i ems
such as ime and da e, display language, remo e con rol, ne work e c.
Press he bu on o en er he menu. The Login screen appears:
Selec user and en er he password by pressing he appropria e combina ion of channel number bu ons
and hen he bu on.
Default login: ADMI and assword: 1234 when logging in for the first time.
To naviga e he menu using arrow keys.
To confirm choices, en er submenus and edi fields use bu on .
To change values use arrow keys.
To exi he menu or close submenu window use bu on .
Some imes i is necessary o en er he name or a i le. When such field is chosen vir ual keyboard
appears. To choose a le er use naviga ion bu ons and confirmed your choice by bu on.

4. RECORDER’S OPERATIO
4.1. Live monitoring
As soon as he DVR comple es i s ini ializa ion process, i will show live video on he a ached moni or
and will play live audio hrough a ached speakers. The defaul mode is o display all cameras a once
(16 or 8depending on he DVR model). Press one of he camera bu ons o display his camera in full
screen. By pressing bu on you can change display forma s .
Differen display forma s can be defined by adminis ra or. In one display forma single camera can be
displayed only once.
If images from 4 cameras are displayed simul aneously on he moni or, press or he bu on o
change displayed cameras according o he following scheme.
Press bu on o s ar cameras sequence display. Pressing single camera channel or bu on again
s ops sequence display.
Sequence display is se in DISPLAY menu, SEQUENCE submenu.
To s ar sequence display on SPOT moni ors se SPOT-OUT in he DVR DISPLAY menu.

Users whose group has playback righ af er logging in o search menu are able o play back recorded
images.

Using naviga ion keys user can choose search by ime or search by even mode.
