Interesting facts about the coin validator system

ThevalidatorG-13.6000isaworldwideestablishedproductforthe

Dueto the CMOSprocessor and an electronic system that isdone
completelyinSMDtechniqueagreater functional variety,an
improved measuring system and a greater protection against
manipulationarepossible.Apartfromthatthesystemnowprovides
2x12 coin channels.
Startingwithnumber/1(markingwithinthemodelnumber)theG-

Duetotheshortswitching-ontimeoperationinaso-calledwake-up
mode is possible. A sensor located in front of the coin slot switches
thecoinvalidatingsystemon.Thefeatureisofgreatadvantagefor

Likeallelectroniccoinvalidatorsystems fromNRIthedevicesofthe
seriesG-13.6000/G-13.7000 can be adjusted by means of a
programming station.Forthis youneed an IBM compatible PC and
theadjustmentprogramme KUNEMP.(Formore information referto
NRI.)
Before changing the device take care that the supply

Adjustment of the channels

requiredtypesofcoins.Apartfromthenormalbandwidthformany
types of coins a narrow bandwidthcan be adjusted. Fortypes of
coins that are likely to be forged a super narrow channel can be
adjustedtoprovidethegreatest possible protectionagainstmisuse.

G-13.6Characteristicfeaturesofthesystem
Single blocking
Twoblockswith six DILswitches each areinstalledon the backside
ofthecoinvalidator.Theycan be usedtoblockindividualcoin
cannels.Todothisthecorrespondingswitchmustbesetto the upper
position. (If more than one channel is assigned to one type of coin,
e.g. for old and new coins or for different bandwidths all the switches
must be set to the upper position.)
Sixoutput linesare assignedto the12 coinchannels (notvalid for
totalizers).Ifaninsertedcoinisrecognizedthecorrespondingchannel
receivesasignal.Ifonetypeofcoinisblockedexternallythe
correspondingoutputlineisset to ground potential.Line6canbe
used to block the whole acceptance (all types of coins).
Sorting outlets
A JST plug is installed on the pc-board. Hoppers or sorting gates can
becontrolledby means ofthis plug. Signalscanalso be received
sincethese are bidirectional lines . If e.g.a hoppersends a "Full"
signalthecoinsaredirectedintothecash-box.
ThevalidatorscanalsobeadjustedbyNRIinthatwaythatthereturn
line sendsasortingsignalontothe10-poleconnectingcable.
String recognition
Asaprotectionagainstmanipulationwithstringsthecoinvalidators
are equipped with a directional accept sensor. That means that a
coinsignalis only givenwhena coin passesthelight barrier coming
fromthe coininsert. Topull coinsback outof thedevice isalso made
moredifficultbyadditionaldesignmeasures.
For devices without a front plate the accept sensor is located on the
left side whereas it is located on the right side for devices with a
frontplate.
Apartfromthatstandardcoinvalidatorsof the series G-13.6000 can
beequipped with a spring foradditional supportof this safety device.

To provide additional protection an accept sensor signal can be

Since the acceptance gate is triggered at the same time the next coin
can be tested without causing problems (a continuous signal at the
acceptance gate will not cause a problem).
