1.0 Introduction
These high quality extractor fans are designed to provide effective
ventilation. To achieve this, please read these instructions carefully
BEF RE installing the fan unit. Failure to comply with these
instructions could reduce both the life and performance of the
product and may invalidate the warranty.
This product is suitable for use with up to a maximum of 6.0m of
rigid ducting. (Flexible ducting is not recommended).
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
2.0 Installation
The installation must be completed by competent persons in
accordance with good industry practice and should conform to all
governing and statutory bodies i.e. IEE, CIBSE, HVCA etc.
Before commencing any work read the following instructions carefully
and ensure you have the necessary competency to complete the work
safely.
1. Select a suitable position for t e fan t at keeps t e duct as s ort
and as straig t as possible (ideally on t e ceiling or on a wall wit in
400mm of t e ceiling).
2. Cut a ole in t e wall to suit t e outside diameter of t e ducting or
wall-liner. Install t e duct or wall-liner taking care to seal at bot
ends between it and t e wall using proprietary waterproof mastic.
If required, connect furt er ducting to t e wall-liner, sealing
between eac joint or fitting.
3. Remove t e front cover of t e fan by pulling straig t off t e fan
body (Fig. 1a and 1b).
4. Remove and retain t e bag containing four Posidriv® screws for
retaining t e body moulding to t e back-plate (Fig. 1b) and t e
cable clamp and screws.
5. Locate t e fan back-plate into t e wall-liner/duct and mark t e four
retaining screw positions (Fig. 2). Fit screw anc ors suitable for
t e wall construction.
6. Install t e fan taking care to pass t e supply cable t roug t e cable
entry point in t e fan back-plate moulding (Fig. 2).
7. Complete t e wiring by following t e relevant wiring diagram on
t e following page (Fig. 4).
8. Assemble t e fan body to t e back-plate and clip on t e front cover.

4.0 Wiring Instructions
Disconnection from the supply mains must be incorporated within the
fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring regulations and shall have a
minimum contact separation of 3mm in accordance with the latest
edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

5.0 peration
verrun timer boost adjustment
Before making any adjustments, isolate the fan from the power supply.
Remove the front cover and the body moulding. Locate the ‘jumper’ on
the relevant set of pins to achieve the desired run-on time (see Fig. 4b).
Humidity boost adjustment
All humidistat GPE-100X units automatically sense a rapid change in
humidity and adjust accordingly. The humidity control does not require
manual adjustment. Humidistat fans, when energised for the first time,
will run and time out as part of the stabilising process.
Performance: Position jumpers for desired trickle and boost
performance. (Fig. 4b)
Trickle: Position 1 6 l/s (Default setting)
Position 2 7 l/s

Boost: Position 5 12 l/s
Position 6 14 l/s

This product is double insulated and does not require an earth conductor.
Maximum room temperature 40ºC.
6.0 Maintenance
The fan unit does not require any maintenance. However, for
optimum performance, it is advisable to remove any accumulated
dust with a low power vacuum cleaner.
Note: Installation and Maintenance of the equipment must
be as directed in the instructions provided with the unit.
7.0 Warranty
The 5 year warranty starts from the day of delivery and includes
parts and labour for the first year. The remaining 4 years covers
replacement parts only.
This warranty is void if the equipment is modified without
authorisation, is incorrectly applied, misused, disassembled, or not
installed, commissioned and maintained in accordance with the details
contained in this manual and general good practice.
The product warranty applies to the UK mainland and in accordance
with Clause 14 of our Conditions of Sale. Customers purchasing from
outside of the UK should contact Nuaire International Sales office for
further details.
