sound or may dig up the device.
Avoid contact with moles or other rodents. They4. may carry disease. Do not handle animals with
your bare hands.
The warnings, precautions, and instructions5. discussed in this instruction sheet cannot cover
all possible conditions and situations that may
occur. It must be understood by the operator that
common sense and caution are factors which
cannot be built into this product, but must be sup-
plied by the operator.

UNPACKING
When unpacking, make sure that the item is
intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or
broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at
1-800-444-3353 as soon as possible.
INSTRUCTIONS

at the beginning of this instruction sheet
including all text under subheadings
therein before set up or use.
Set up
Device with Top removed and Battery Compartment open.
1. Unscrew top and install (4) “D” cell batteries in
each unit with the positive end of each battery
rst.
Replace top. Unit operates automatically.2.
Operation
Each unit will protect approximately 6000 sq. ft.1. Install units approximately 50-60 feet apart.
To install, press the device into an existing2. ground rodent hole, or dig a hole approximately
15” deep. Insert the Mole Chaser pointed end
down, and bury in the ground leaving only the top
protruding. Do not attempt to hammer the unit
into the ground, as it will break.
If the device is installed in a lawn, be sure the top3. is low enough that you can mow over it without
damage.
Do not install in an area that may ood.4.
Periodically recheck the item to be sure the top5. remains screwed on tight.
Leave the device in place even after rodent activ-6. ity stops, to prevent animals moving back in.
If your area is subject to hard freeze in the Win-7. ter, remove device at the onset of Winter. Re-
place in the Spring.
Maintenance
Periodically check that the top remains screwed1. on tight.
Replace batteries every 4 months. Unit will emit2. a long duration tone (5 seconds) when the batter-
ies get low.
Note:Replacement parts are not available for this item.
LIMITED 90 DAY WARRANTY
Harbor Freight Tools Co. makes every effort to
assure that its products meet high quality and durability
standards, and warrants to the original purchaser that this
product is free from defects in materials and workmanship
for the period of 90 days from the date of purchase.
This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or
indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents,
repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal
activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or
to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable for
death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental,
contingent, special or consequential damages arising
from the use of our product. Some states do not allow
the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may
not apply to you. THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY
IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS.
To take advantage of this warranty, the product or
part must be returned to us with transportation charges
prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of
the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our
inspection veries the defect, we will either repair or
replace the product at our election or we may elect to
refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly
provide you with a replacement. We will return repaired
products at our expense, but if we determine there is no
defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within
the scope of our warranty, then you must bear the cost
of returning the product.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and
you may also have other rights which vary from state to
state.
