Error connecting to PC
Problem description:
Camera is recognized by the cradle (blue led is on and text ‘’connected’’ appears in the camera screen), but camera is not recognized by the
computer.
Solution:
1. Check that power and USB cable connectors are firmly attached to the cradle. Check cradle connector and the camera’s bottom
connector for visual damage/debris.
2. Try to use another USB port.
3. Try another cradle if available.
4. Check what is the PC’s operating system and version. Check with IT support if computers have some security restrictions that might
prevent a USB memory stick from working
5. When the camera is in the cradle, go to Windows Device Manager: Start Control Panel System Device Manager. There should be a
category "Portable Devices", under which there should be the item Smartscope. Click the Smartscope icon with right mouse button and
select "uninstall". Do the Same for the Smartscope item in category "Disk drives". Then lift the camera from cradle and put it back. The
camera should then re-install to the system. Note: Instructions are for Windows 7. It may vary slightly for other OS.
6. Try to put the camera to cradle both with power on and power off.
7. If everything else fails, it is also possible to remove the microSD card from the camera (NON-WIFI) and read the contents with a
suitable memory card reader. Camera should not be powered on without the memory card.
