INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the RF Projection Clock with
Temperature Display Model RM329P.
The RM329P is a multifunction (RF) controlled clock. It can
automatically synchronize its current time and date when brought
within an approximate 1500 km radius of the radio signal DCF77
generated from Frankfurt, Germany.
For easy time reading in dim or no light, the RM329P features a
projection function that allows the user to display the time on the
ceiling,wallorotherflatsurface. Thetimeprojectedisinadeepred
that is easily seen but will minimize eye dilation. The clock face
also features a large LCD display with backlight for easy viewing
in dim or no light.
Other features include: display of current indoor temperature,
current date display, and a daily crescendo alarm with 8-minute
snooze function.

BATTERY INSTALLATION
The unit uses two (2) UM-3 or “AA” size 1.5V batteries.
To insert batteries:
1. Gently pull battery compartment door forward to access the
battery compartment.
2. Insert the batteries strictly according to the polarities shown
therein.
3. Replace the battery compartment door.
When the low battery indicator icon [ ] is displayed, replace
batteries with fresh batteries.

Note: Under normal circumstances and use, battery life is
approximately 1 year. However, the battery life can be
reduced vastly by frequent use of the back light, projector or
snooze function.
If not disposed of properly batteries can be harmful.
Protect the environment by taking exhausted batteries
to authorized disposal stations.
HOW TO USE THE PROJECTOR
The projection feature projects the current time on the ceiling, wall
or other flat surface.
To project the time onto a flat surface:
Inadarkenedroom,press[ ], the projection
will activate for approximately 5-seconds.
The projection feature has many user-selectable adjustments.

HOW TO USE THE PROJECTOR
POWER ADAPTER
TheRM329PcomeswithanACpoweradapter.UseoftheACpower
adapter is required for continuous time projection.

To install the adapter:
1. Insert adapter into jack at the bottom of the unit.
2. Plug the adapter into an electrical wall outlet.
Using the AC power adapter allows for continuous projection.
Once the AC power adapter has been plugged into the RM329P and
an electrical wall outlet, slide Button O to the right (with back
cabinet facing) to activate the continuous projection feature. To
turn off the continuous projection feature, slide Button O to the left
(with back cabinet facing).
Note: Slide Button O will only activate the continuous
projection feature when the AC power adapter is properly
connected to the RM329P and an electrical wall outlet. For
momentary projection, use the [ ].
HOW TO USE THE BACKLIGHT
Press [ ] once. The backlight will activate
for five seconds. The projection will also be on for five seconds.
ABOUT RADIO RECEPTION
TheRM329Pisaradiofrequency(RF)controlledclock.Thecurrent
time and date will automatically synchronize with radio frequency
signals generated from DCF77 Frankfurt, Germany. The benefit of
a RF controlled clock is that highly-accurate time is maintained
and manual adjustments to the time and date are not be required.
Whenthebatteriesarefirstinstalled,theRM329Pwillautomatically
search for a radio signal.
When in search mode, the antenna icon [ ] will blink. This
process takes between two (2) and ten (10) minutes. After initial
search,shortperiodicreception-signalscanswillcommenceseveral
times a day.
The antenna icon indicates the quality of reception.

When signal reception is complete, the antenna icon will stop
blinking.
Interference
Reception of the signal can be affected by many factors including
interference from other RF signal generating or receiving
equipment, placement near a PC, TV, radio or microwave oven or
location within a steel reinforced concrete building.

Note: Whenthe RM329Pis new andjust outof the box,initial
signal reception can take up to 72 hours. For ease of initial
signal reception, position the RM329P on a windowsill
away from a PC, TV, radio, microwave oven or other electric
appliance.
HOW TO ENABLE OR DISABLE
AUTO-RECEPTION
If you wish to disable the auto-reception of radio signal feature
while the unit is within range, press and hold [ ] and [ ] button
for 2 seconds. The radio-reception icon on the will disappear and
the unit will NOT respond to radio signals.
To enable the feature again, press and hold [ ] and [ ] for 2
seconds. The radio-reception icon will be shown again and it will
start blinking to initiate reception automatically.
“SECONDS” AND “WEEKDAY” DISPLAY
The “seconds” and the “weekday” share the same section of the
display.

CALENDAR AND ALARM TIME DISPLAY
The calendar and the alarm-time share the same section of the
display.
The calendar is displayed in a day-month format.

To change the calendar display to the alarm-time display:
• When the calendar is displayed, press ALARM once.
To change the alarm-time display to the calendar display:
• When the alarm time is displayed, press CLOCK once.
HOW TO SET THE CALENDAR
CLOCK MANUALLY
If the RM329P is taken outside of the range of Frankfurt DCF77
radio signal it will need to be manually set.
To manually set the clock:
1. Whenthe calendar is displayed,pressCLOCKfor twoseconds.
The month value will start to blink.
2. Enter the month using the [ ] or [ ] buttons. Hold down
either button to rapidly increase or decrease the value.
3. Press CLOCK to confirm and proceed to set the day, language,
day-of-the week, hour and minute.
4. For the display language, you can choose between (E) for
English,(D)forGerman,(F)forFrench (I) forItalianand(S)for
Spanish (see language chart above).
5. When finished, press CLOCK to return to normal display. If
changes are made during the process, the seconds will reset and
start from zero.
Note: The Clock is in 24-hour display format.
HOW TO SET AND ACTIVATE
THE ALARM
Toset the alarm time:
1. Press and hold ALARMfor two seconds when the alarm time is
displayed.

2. Enterthevalue by [ ] or[ ]buttonsfor the hour digits.Press
ALARMto confirm and gotothe minute digits. Enter thevalue
and press ALARMto confirm.
3. The alarm is automatically activated. To deactivate it, press
ALARM once when alarm time is displayed.
ALARM AND SNOOZE FUNCTION
When the alarm is set, it will sound at the set time. The back light
will go on for five seconds with the alarm-on icon [ ] flashing.
The crescendo function allows the alarm to sound gently and step
up its intensity in three steps. Without interruption, the alarm will
activate for a minute.
To stop the alarm, press any key. If the [ ]
button is pressed, the snooze function will be triggered. The alarm
will stop for eight minutes before activating again.
INDOOR TEMPERATURE
The temperature is shown in degree Celsius (°C). The RM329P is
capable of measuring temperatures within the -5°C and +50°C
range. If the temperature goes above or below that, the display will
flash.
HOW TO RESET THE UNIT
Pressing the RESET button will cause the RM329P to clear user
selected settings and return to the factory settings. Pressing the
RESETbuttonwillalsoreactivatetheradiosignal receptionfeature
from manual time set mode.
MAINTENANCE
When handled properly, this unit is engineered to give you years
of satisfactory service. Here are a few product care instructions:
1. Do not immerse the unit in water. If the unit comes in contact
with water, dry it immediately with a soft lint-free cloth.
2. Do not clean the unit with abrasive or corrosive materials.
Abrasive cleaning agents may scratch the plastic parts and
corrode the electronic circuit.
3. Do not subject the unit to excessive: force, shock, dust,
temperature, or humidity. Such treatment may result in
malfunction, a shorter electronic life span, damaged batteries,
or distorted parts.
4. Do not tamper with the unit’s internal components. Doing so
will terminate the unit’s warranty and may cause damage. The
unit contains no user-serviceable parts.
5. Only use new batteries as specified in this instruction manual.
Do not mix new and old batteries as the old batteries may leak.
Batteries contain dangerous chemicals and may explode or leak
and cause injuries if old and new batteries are used together, are
inserted improperly or are improperly disposed of. Always use
caution when using or disposing of batteries.
6. Read this instruction manual thoroughly before operating the
unit.
