WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS
CAUTION
• Read all instructions and warnings carefully before starting installation.
• The final location of your fireplace should have clear access to a grounded electrical outlet.
• Take care when moving assembled mantel. It will take two adults to move into final position.
• Some steps are more easily handled with two adults.
• All panels are labeled Left and Right as viewed from the front of mantel.
• Use the hardware that is provided and read each step before beginning assembly.
• Do not overtighten hardware. Do not attempt to install electric insert until the mantel is fully assembled.
• The insert must be installed from the back of the mantel, do not attempt to insert mantle from the
front, it will not fit and will cause damage to the mantel.
• Use caution when opening carton and unwrapping pieces so as not to damage the contents.
• Do not use a knife.
PREPARATION
Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package
contents list and diagram above. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the
product. Contact customer service for replacement parts.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury, the following must be read
before using or plugging this electric fireplace into an electrical outlet.
• The heater is hot when in use, do not come in contact with hot surfaces.
• Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothing, and curtains at
least 3 feet away from fireplace.
• Do not block the air intake or exhaust of the heater in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces
such as beds, where heater openings may become blocked.
• Needs to be used with wood fireplace mantel
• Use extreme caution when using fireplace near children, or where children may be present.
• Do not leave fireplace unattended
• Do not attempt to move fireplace when hot.
• When not in use, store fireplace unplugged in a dry location
• Do not operate electric fireplace if the cord or plug has become damaged.
• Discontinue use if the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
• Only an authorized service center should attempt to repair electric insert.
• Do not use outdoors, intended for indoor use only.
• This electric fireplace is not intended to be used in bathrooms, laundry rooms, or any other
location where the electric fireplace may become damp, or come in contact with water.
• Never operate electric fireplace where it may fall into a bathtub, pool or any other water container.
• Do not run power cord under carpeting, rugs, runners, or any other covering. Keep cord from
crossing traffic areas to avoid tripping.
• Always turn electric insert off before unplugging heater from outlet.
• Keep area around fireplace neat and clean.
• To avoid electrical shock, fire, or damage to heater, do not insert any foreign objects into
ventilation or exhaust of heater.
• This heater produces arcing sparks, keep all flammable liquids, such as gasoline, paint, or
solvents, away from heater.
• Only use this fireplace as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended, and may
cause fire, electrical shock, or personal injury.
• Do not alter or modify this fireplace in any manner
• This fireplace is intended for residential use only, not intended for commercial use.
• Position the fireplace in a location near an electrical outlet so the use of an extension cord is not
needed. If an extension cord must be used, it must be a minimum of 14AWG and is rated for
1875 watts.
• This fireplace must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes.
• This fireplace is to be used on a 120 V, 15 AMP grounded circuit.
• Do not use in an outlet that is controlled by a switch or dimmer switch.
• The cord supplied with the heater is equipped with a 3-blade plug.
The round pin on the plug is for grounding purposes. If a 3-slot
outlet is not available, and adapter must be used. The adapter
must be properly grounded to the outlet box. (see Fig. 1)
• To avoid circuit overload, do not plug any other appliances
into the same circuit as the fireplace.

1. Locate 2 side trim pieces (A)
and 1 top trim piece (B). Align slotted
holes in trim pieces with holes on tops and
sides of insert (C). See Fig. 2
Attach trim pieces to electric insert (C)
using 4 screws (AA) per piece of trim.
Tighten using a Phillips screwdriver.

Push the power button once (indicator light will come on) to supply power for all of the functions.
Push button once to turn all functions off.

This fireplace insert consists of a fan forced electric heater with two heat settings, 750 watts or 1,500
watts. For low heat, push the temperature button once (indicator light will illuminate). For high heat,
push the temperature button a second time (indicator light will illuminate). Note: the fan may con-
tinue to run for a short time after the heat is turned off. The fan will turn off automatically.
This electric fireplace is equipped with a timer ranging from 1/2 hour to 7 1/2 hrs. Press the timer
button to the desired time (indicator lights will illuminate). Push button once for every 1/2 hour
increment. Do not leave heater unattended.
Control Panel Master Power Button
The Master Power Button is located in the lower right hand corner of the front insert. The control
panel is located in the lower left corner of the front of the insert. Open the door to access.

* Remote control requires 2 AAA batteries not included.
A master button is located on the bottom right hand side of the insert. This button must be turned ‘On’
(indicator light will illuminate) to operate remote control. Turn button to ‘off’ to disable the use of the
remote control. Once the remote control button is turned ‘on’, all of the functions are the same as on
the control panel listed on the previous page.
FLAME EFFECT/LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT
Allow the electric fireplace insert to cool before attempting to replace light bulbs. The flame effect on
this electric fireplace insert is created by illuminating (2) clear 120V, 40 watt E-12 (small base,
chandelier candle type) light bulbs. The life of the light bulbs will depend on how often the fireplace is
used. Do not use light bulbs that exceed 40 watts per bulb.
1. Turn power to off and unplug insert from electrical outlet before changing light bulbs.
2. Slide fireplace mantel away from wall to gain access to back of fireplace.
3. Locate access panel on back of insert.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove screws in access panel. Open door and replace
light bulbs as necessary. It is recommended that both light bulbs be replaced at the same time.
5. Follow steps 1 through 4 in reverse order to reinstall access panel.
NOTE: We do not supply replacement light bulbs. They can be purchased at many home
centers or hardware stores.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Before installing electric insert into mantel, plug the insert into an outlet to be certain that the
light bulbs and flame effect are in working condition. This will avoid the need to remove the insert
once it has been installed. Take care when moving assembled mantel and insert it will take two adults
to move.
1. Locate the final location of your fireplace. Making sure that you have clear access to an
electrical outlet.
2. Position the fireplace mantel close to it's final location, leaving enough room to access the back of
the mantel.
3. Gently slide the insert into the opening in the mantel until the trim on the insert is flush against the
inside of the mantel.
4. Locate (9) screws (AA). Using a Phillips screwdriver, insert screws through pre-drilled holes in
insert trim and into mantel. Tighten screws.
5. Slide the completed fireplace mantel against the wall.
CARE AN MAINTENANCE
Turn heater OFF and unplug from electrical outlet before any cleaning or maintenance is performed.
Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothing, and curtains at least
3 feet away from fireplace.
Use a vacuum or duster to keep heat and vent area clean from dust and dirt. The exterior of the
fireplace should be cleaned with a damp cloth or duster. Do not use abrasive cleaners or liquid sprays.

WARNING To avoid electrical shock not open the back panel of the insert unless the power has
been turned off, and the insert has been unplugged.
WARNING Any electrical repairs to this electric fireplace, should only be performed by a
qualified technician.
WARNING Any electrical wiring repairs should only be performed by a qualified electrician, and also
must comply with local building codes.
WARNING Discontinue use of this electric fireplace if any of the follow has occurred: Water damage,
if insert has been dropped or dented, if power cord has become broken, if power cord
becomes hot to touch, if unit smokes or smells like smoke.
Note: When the heat function is used for the first time, a slight odor may be present. This is normal
and should not occur again unless heater is not used for extended periods of time and dust is allowed
to accumulate on heater element.

packaged to minimize the chance of damage during
shipment. If a part (excluding light bulbs and fuses*) within
one year from the date of purchase proves to be defective
in material or fabrication under normal use, the part will be
repaired or replaced. The Company’s obligation under the
warranty is to replace or repair defective parts at our
discretion. Any expenses or damage resulting from the
installation, removal or transportation of the product will
the responsibility of the owner and are not covered by this
warranty. The owner assumes all other risks arising out
from the use or misuse of the product. The warranty will be
void if the product damage or failure is deemed by the
Company to be caused by accident, alteration, misuse,
abuse, incorrect installation or removal, or connection to
an incorrect power source by the owner. The Company

PRÉCAUTIONS
• Lisez attentivement toutes les instructions avant de commencer l’installation.
• L’emplacement final de votre foyer doit avoir un libre accès à une prise de courant avec contact de mise à la terre.
• Déplacez le linteau assemblé avec soin. Deux personnes seront nécessaire pour le placer dans sa position finale.
• Certaines étapes seront plus facile à effectuer avec deux adultes.
• Tous les panneaux sont étiquetés Droit (Right) et Gauche (Left), en référence au foyer vu de face.
• Utilisez les pièces fournies et lisez toutes les étapes avant de commencer l’assemblage.
• Ne serrez pas excessivement les pièces. Ne tentez pas d’installer l’encastrement électrique avant d’avoir
complètement fini d’assembler le linteau.
• L’encastrement doit être installé à partir de l’arrière du linteau. N’essayez pas d’insérer l’encastrement à partir
du devant car il ne sera pas adapté à l’ouverture et pourra être endommagé.
• Ouvrez la boîte et déballez les pièces avec beaucoup de soin afin de ne pas les endommager.
• N’utilisez pas de couteau.
PRÉPARATION
Assurez-vous que vous avez toutes les pièces avant de commencer l’assemblage. Comparez les
pièces que vous avez en main avec la liste du contenu et le schéma ci-dessus. Si des pièces
sont endommagées ou manquantes, ne tentez pas d’assembler l’appareil. Communiquez avec le
service à la clientèle pour des pièces de remplacement.

• Le foyer est chaud lorsqu’il est utilisé. Ne touchez pas aux surfaces chaudes.
• Gardez les matériaux combustibles tels que meubles, coussins, literie, papiers et rideaux à au moins 3 pieds du foyer.
• Ne bloquez pas l’entrée d’air ou l’ouverture d’évacuation du foyer de quelque manière que ce soit.

• Ne tentez pas de déplacer le foyer lorsqu’il est chaud.
• Lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé, entreposez le foyer débranché dans un endroit sec.
• N’utilisez pas le foyer électrique si le cordon d’alimentation ou la fiche sont endommagés.
• Cessez l’utilisation du foyer s’il y a une défaillance du système, s’il a été échappé ou s’il a été endommagé de quelque
manière que ce soit.
• Seul un centre de service autorisé devrait effectuer les réparations de l’encastrement électrique.
• N’utilisez pas l’appareil à l’extérieur car il est destiné à un usage intérieur seulement.
• Ce foyer ne doit pas être utilisé dans les salles de bain, buanderies ou autre endroit où il peut être soumis à l’humidité ou
entrer en contact avec de l’eau.
• N’utilisez jamais le foyer dans un endroit où il peut tomber dans une baignoire, une piscine ou autre réceptacle rempli d’eau.
• Ne faites pas courir le cordon d’alimentation sous le tapis, sous une carpette, un tapis de passage ou
autre recouvrement de plancher. Gardez le cordon d’alimentation à l’écart des zones de circulation avec d’éviter les chutes.
• Éteignez toujours l’encastrement électrique avant de le débrancher de la prise de courant.
• Gardez les zones autour du foyer propres et libres de tout objet.
• N’insérez aucun objet étranger dans l’ouverture de ventilation ou d’évacuation du foyer afin d’éviter les risques de chocs
électriques, incendie ou dommages à l’appareil.
• Ce foyer produit des arcs électriques : gardez tous les liquides inflammables tels que l’essence, la peinture et les
solvants loin de l’appareil.
• Utilisez ce foyer uniquement selon les directives décrites dans ce manuel. Toute autre utilisation n’est pas recommandée
et peut causer des incendies, chocs électriques et blessures corporelles.
• Ne transformez pas et ne modifiez pas le foyer d’aucune manière.
• Ce foyer est destiné à une utilisation résidentielle seulement et n’est pas conçu pour une utilisation commerciale.
• Placez le foyer dans un endroit proche d’une prise de courant pour éviter d’avoir à utiliser un cordon prolongateur.
Si un cordon prolongateur s’avère indispensable, il doit être au minimum de calibre nominal 14 AWG et de 1 875 watts.
• Ce foyer doit être mis à la terre en conformité avec les codes locaux.
• Ce foyer doit être utilisé avec un circuit avec mise à la terre de 120 V, 15 A.
• Ne branchez pas l’appareil dans une prise de courant contrôlée par un interrupteur ou un gradateur d’intensité de lumière.
• Le cordon d’alimentation fourni avec le foyer est équipé d’une fiche à trois broches. La broche ronde sert à la mise à la terre.
Si une prise de courant avec mise à la terre n’est pas disponible, un adaptateur doit être utilisé. L’adaptateur doit être
correctement mis à la terre sur la prise de courant (Figure 1).
• Afin d’éviter de surcharger les circuits, ne branchez aucun autre appareil sur le même circuit que le foyer.

l’une des pièces présente un défaut de matériau ou de fabrication,
à l’exception des ampoules et des fusibles*, dans un délai de un
an suivant la date d’achat, la pièce défectueuse sera réparée ou
remplacée. En vertu de la présente garantie, la responsabilité de
l’entreprise consiste à remplacer ou à réparer la pièce défectueuse.
Tous les frais ou dommages découlant de l’installation, du retrait
ou du transport de l’appareil relèvent de la responsabilité du
propriétaire et ne sont nullement couverts par la présente garantie.
Le propriétaire assumera tous les autres risques découlant de
