Moisture Analyser
PCE-W3

1. Application
Moisture Meter for Waste Paper is designed to rapidly det ermine the level of moisture contents of waste paper.
2. Operation principle
Moisture meter measures the resistance of the m ate rial (waste paper). It has b een calibrated for normal
composition of waste paper.

Limitations
This warranty becomes null and void if you fail to pack your PCE-W3 in a manner consistent with the original
product packaging and dam-age occurs during product shipment. This warranty does not cover: circumstance
beyond our company’s control; service r equired as the result of unauthorized modiÿcations or service; misuse,
abuse; failure to follow our com pany operating or main tenance instructions. Repai r or replacement without
charge is our company’s only obligat ion under thi s warranty. Our comp any will not be res ponsible for any
special, consequential or incidental damages resulting fr om the purchase, use, or im proper functioning of this
equipment regardless of the cause. Such damages for which our company’s will not be responsible include, but
are not limited to, loss of revenue or proÿt, downtime cost s, loss of use of the equipment, cost of any substitute
equipment, facilities of services, or claims of your customers for such damages.
GUARANTEE
The manufacturer guarantees the correct functioning of the Moisture Meter for Waste Paper PCE-W3 under
normal use for a period of 12 months.
NOTE: "This instrument doesn’t have ATEX protection, so it should not be used in potentially explosive
atmospheres (powder, ˜ammable gases)."

4. Measurements
Conduct the measurements of moisture contents of waste paper following these steps:
• take the device out of its case and remove the protective cap,
• connect the device with the electrode using the wire provided,
• turn the power on,
• slide the electrode into the waste paper (if it’s compressed) or firmly press the electrode against
a single piece of waste paper,
• read the result,
• repeat the measurement with at least 3 randomly selected samples,
• the final result is an average of all the measurements,
• turn the power off.
WARNING:
The measuring range of the device is 6% - 30%. Moisture contents below 6% is indicated as „LO”.
Results over 30% should be considered as rough estimates.
5. Changing the battery and storage
The device is equipped with a power level control circuit. When the power drops below acceptable level a sign ”LO BAT”
appears on the left side of the LCD. This indicates that the battery has expired and should be replaced with a new one.
To replace the battery unscrew the screw on the back of the instrument and carefully remove the back panel. Store the
device in a dry place.
