After post is anchored slide vinyl sleeve
down on surface and apply 1 screw per
side, to ensure the sleeve is level.
Once vinyl sleeve is fastened slide trim
ring in place.

Locate posts on center marks that you created in step 1.
With pencil mark locations where concrete lags will
be placed.
Mark each post location.Each mark
will be exact center of post.

Fasten anchor brackets to bottom of
post with type (S) wood lags.

Fasten a bottom post cap to the bottom
of each post with type (U) wood screws.
Ensure that the post cap is spaced evenly on
all four sides of the post insert.

Fastening Posts To Concrete

Using a hammer drill with a 3/8"
concrete bit, drill holes 1/2"deeper
than the length of the type (J) lag.
WARNING!
Concrete Footer

Fasten Posts to concrete slab useing type
(J) concrete lags.
Type (J) Concrete Lag
3/8" X 3" x 4 per post.
Note: Be Sure to plum
all of the posts.

Be sure to pre drill holes for the type (I) wood lags

Drill Bit
If your posts are not located so you can attach them to
a floor joist, follow the below instructions.
Make a support block by cutting a generic treated board
(not included) into 6 pieces that are the same length as the
spacing inbetween the floor joists of your deck.
Fasten the 6 pieces together using 2 1/2" deck screws (not
included). You will need to make four blocks like this.
Fasten a support block inbetween the floor joists at the
location of each pergola post. Push the block up against the
deck boards and and attach it by driving 3 1/2" deck screws
(not included) through the sides of the floor joists and into
the support block.
Now attach your pergola posts to the deck as
shown in the example above. The lags (type I)
should go through the deck boards and into
the support blocks.
Concrete Slab
If installing on a paver
patio, pavers should be
removed at each post location.
Dig holes 3 ft in depth or
recommended hole depth
your local building codes.
Fill holes with concrete to
createa solid footer for posts.
After concrete footers are
completely cured, attach
posts using the
same method
shown at the
top of this page.
Do not mount
posts directly onto
patio pavers.
(PAVERS ARE NOT STABLE)

Fasten Beams With Type ( V ) 4" Wood Lags
Apply 5/8" Vinyl Plugs
After Beams Are Installed.
Keep Beams Flush
With Top Of Posts.
Top Post Cap / Beam End Cap Installation

Fasten Top Post Caps with four
type (U ) 2 1/2" Wood Screws.
Apply PVC Glue along the inside edges of
the ( 2X8 Scrolled End Cap ), firmly push
and hold in place on end of beam.
BE SURE TO SLIDE POST TRIM RINGS
ONTO POSTS BEFORE INSTALLING BEAMS!
Install the Top Post Caps
on all the posts.
These are to protect the
wood inserts from the elements.
Keep top post caps flush with outside of posts.

Set the two Outside Purlins against the outside edges
of the posts and fasten them to the beams using
four type (W) 5" Wood Screws per purlin.
Note: The screw goes down through the vinyl
and into the wood insert that
is inside the purlin.
Purlin Installation

Step 7
Apply PVC Glue along the inside edges
of the (2x6 Purlin End Caps), firmly
push and hold in place on end of purlins.
Apply 3/8" Vinyl Plugs after purlins are installed.
Spread out the rest of the purlin equally
inbetween the two outside purlins. Fasten
them using the same screws and bit as
specifed above.
Note:
One Purlin has holes along
thetop of the purlin to fasten
the shade slats, place this
purlin on the outside

Shade Slat Installation
Slide shade slats in from end, fasten with ( TYPE X ) self tapping screws.
One Purlin has holes along the top of the
purlin to fasten the shade slats
The center shade slat will need to be
fastened on every purlin, this will keep
the purlins straight and in line with each
other.

Deluxe Shade
Regular Shade
Place first shade slat in center on top of purlins,fasten with
( TYPE X ) self tapping screws. Place rest of shade slats every
4" center to center on either side of center shade slat.
Beam
Shade Slats
Fasten every slat on the
outside purlins.
The center shade slat
will need to be fastened
on every purlin, this will
keep the purlins straight
and in line with each other.
NOTE:
Ensure that post and beam are square
before fastening braces
Predrill 2- 3/8"holes through the outside wall of the
vinyl beam, fasten each ply of the braces to the beams
with two type (U) wood screws
(3/16" X 2 1/2")
fasten through the beam into the brace and plug
the holes with 3/8" plugs.
Fasten the bottom of the brace to the post with
one type (W) 5" screw per brace.
