Die Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang, ist ein mechanisches Hilfsmittel und dient zur Unterstützung eines Pflegebedürftigen
beim Absenken sowie Anheben in der Badewanne und beim Badevorgang. Insbesondere in der häuslichen Pflege
sowie medizinischen Einrichtungen des Gesundheitswesens kommt diese Produkt zum Einsatz.
Die Badehilfe Peter Pan Lang wird eingesetzt, wenn beim Pflegebedürftigen Einschränkungen vorliegen, die ein
selbständiges Baden bzw. Sitzen in der Badewanne unmöglich machen. Durch den Einsatz der Badehilfe Peter Pan
Lang kann der Pflegebedürftige mit vertrauter Hilfe gebadet, gewaschen und gepflegt werden.
Der Einsatz der Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang sollte unter der Voraussetzung erfolgen, dass der Anwender den Umgang
mit ihr erlernt hat. Der Anwender muss selbstständig entscheiden, welches Hilfsmittel der Situation des
Pflegebedürftigen und dem beabsichtigten Bewegungsablauf gerecht wird.
Das Produkt darf nur zu angegebenen Zweck und Bedingungen genutzt werden.
Die Hinweise in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung beziehen sich auf die pflegebefürftige Person, die umgelagert und
bewegt wird sowie auf den Anwender, der den Transfer / die Umlagerung vornimmt.

Wird das Produkt gemäß den Sicherheitsvorschriften verwendet, beträgt die zu erwartende Produktlebensdauer
zehn Jahre. Die effektive Lebensdauer kann jedoch, abhängig von der Häufigkeit und Intensität des Gebrauchs, der
Anzahl der Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsvorgänge, variieren.
Führen Sie regelmäßig eine Funktionskontrolle mit dem Produkt durch und beachten Sie unbedingt die
Sicherheitshinweise (siehe Punkt 2).
2Sicherheitshinweise
WARNUNG kennzeichnet eine mögliche Gefährdung, die zu Personen- oder Sachschäden
führen könnte.
➢Es liegt in der Verantwortung der Einrichtung / des Anwenders anhand der Gegebenheiten (Gewicht
/ Gesundheitszustand des Patienten) und des Leistungsvermögens des Anwenders, zu beurteilen, ob
ggf. mehrere Anwender für den Transfer notwendig sind oder zusätzliche Sicherungsmaßnahmen
getroffen werden müssen.

➢Achten Sie darauf, dass der Situation und dem Gesundheitszustandes des Pflegebedürftigen
angemessen, unbedingt eine ausreichende Zahl von Anwendern den Badevorgang sichern.
➢Achten Sie darauf, dass der Badevorgang rückengerecht von den Anwendern ausgeführt wird.
➢Gewichtsbegrenzungen sind einzuhalten (135 kg).
➢Achten Sie darauf, dass während des Gebrauchs Sitz- und Rückenlehne frei beweglich sind.
➢Überzeugen Sie sich, dass während des Absenkens oder Anhebens der Badehilfe die Füße und Hände
oder die freie Hand des Benutzers entfernt von den beweglichen Teilen positioniert sind.

2.2 Funktionskontrolle
Die Petermann Transferhilfe Peter Pan® Lang ist aus einem nicht rostenden Grundgestell hergestellt und bedarf
daher keiner besonderen Wartung. Eine Sichtprüfung auf Mängel vor jeder Inbetriebnahme ist erforderlich. Bei
erkennbaren Mängeln darf das Gerät nicht benutzt werden.
Eine periodische Überwachung soll mindestens einmal jährlich durchgeführt werden; d. h. Sichtprüfung der
tragenden Teile (Prüfung der Funktion). Aus hygienischen Gründen muss eine regelmäßige Reinigung des Geräts
durchgeführt werden.
➢Defekte Produkte dürfen nicht mehr verwendet werden!
3Produktanwendung
3.1 Indikation und Wiedereinsatz
Die Indikationen können aufgrund der großen Einsatzmöglichkeiten an keinem bestimmten Krankheitsbild
festgemacht werden, da die Badehilfe Peter Pan®Lang für alle Anwendungen an Menschen mit
Unterstützungsbedarf beim Baden geeignet ist.

Die Badehilfe Peter Pan®Lang Lang ist für den Wiedereinsatz vorgesehen! Die Häufigkeit des Wiedereinsatzes
ist von dem jeweiligen Gerätezustand abhängig. Grundlage ist das MPG (Medizinproduktegesetz) „Aufbereiten von
Medizinprodukten“ gemäß § 4, Abs. 2 MPBetreibV.
Vor dem Wiedereinsatz muss eine sicherheitstechnische Kontrolle des Geräts durchgeführt werden.
Bitte fragen Sie nach unserer Händlerinformation „Wiedereinsatz/Aufbereitung von Badeliftern“
Wenn Sie die Badehilfe Peter Pan®Lang einmal auf längere Zeit nicht benutzen, lagern Sie die Badehilfe in
der obersten Position, so dass die Federmechanik entspannt ist.
3.2 Kontraindikation
Kontraindikationen können an keinem bestimmten Krankheitsbild festgemacht werden. Unter Berücksichtigung der
Sicherheitshinweise (siehe Punkt 2), darf bei folgenden Patientenbeschwerden das Produkt nicht angewandt
werden:
➢Pflegebedürftige, die nicht baden dürfen
➢Hochtonisierte Pflegebedürftige (z. B. spastische Tetraplegie)
➢Pflegebedürftige mit sehr niedrigem Muskeltonus (fortgeschrittene ALS oder MS)
3.3 Anwendungsrisiken

3.6 Anwendung
3.6.1 Allgemeine Beschreibung
Die Petermann Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang findet ihren Einsatzbereich in der häuslichen Pflege sowie medizinischen
Einrichtungen. Sie ist ausschließlich zur Verwendung in einer Badewanne konstruiert worden.
3.6.2 Aufstellen in der Wanne
➢Die Petermann Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang ist komplett montiert und sofort einsatzbereit.
➢Badehilfe neben die Badewanne stellen
➢Die beiliegende Handkurbel in die Kurbelaufnahme vorne auf der Liegefläche der Badehilfe stecken
➢Handkurbel gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen, bis das Gerät die oberste Position erreicht hat.
➢Bezug auf die Liegefläche legen
➢Wichtig: Kopfteil zuerst eintaschen
➢Seitenklappen eintaschen und Druckknopf unten befestigen
➢Badehilfe soweit wie möglich nach hinten in die Badewanne stellen. Die hinteren Rahmenfüße der Badehilfe
sollten kurz vor der Abrundung der Wanne am Wannenboden stehen.
➢Liegefläche fest nach unten drücken, damit die zwei vorderen Saugnäpfe sich festsaugen
➢Die Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang steht jetzt sicher in der Wanne.

3.6.3 Bedienung
➢Die Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang wird mit der Handkurbel betrieben.
➢Die Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang kann in jeder Höhe angehalten werden.
➢Die Handkurbel kann in jeder Badehöhe entfernt werden.
➢Die Handkurbel kann in der Kurbelbox abgelegt werden.
➢Drehrichtung links →Badelift senkt sich
➢Drehrichtung rechts →Badelift hebt sich
➢Maximale Anzahl Umdrehungen →57 (von der obersten bis zur untersten Stellung)
3.6.4 Herausnehmen aus der Wanne
➢Badewannenwasser ablaufen lassen
➢Zur Reinigung sollte die Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang in der obersten Position stehen.
➢Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang mit klarem, lauwarmem Wasser abspülen
➢Durch Anheben des Geräts im hinteren Bereich wird die Saugkraft der vorderen Saugfüße gelöst.
➢Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang an der Sitzfläche aus der Wanne heben

5Reinigung, Pflege und Desinfektion
Die Petermann Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang ist aus nicht rostenden Bauteilen hergestellt und bedarf daher keiner
besonderen Wartung. Eine Sichtprüfung auf Mängel vor jeder Inbetriebnahme ist erforderlich. Bei erkennbaren
Mängeln darf das Gerät nicht benutzt werden. Wenden Sie sich dann an Ihr zuständiges Sanitätshaus oder rufen Sie
unsere Servicenummer an.
Aus hygienischen Gründen führen Sie bitte eine regelmäßige Reinigung des Geräts durch. Zum Reinigen können Sie
haushaltsübliche Flüssigreiniger verwenden. Der Sitz- sowie der Rückenlehnenbezug (optional) ist maschinen-
waschbar bis 60°C.
Für die professionelle Reinigung und Überprüfung fragen Sie bitte nach unserer Händlerinformation.
Wenn Sie die Badehilfe Peter Pan® Lang einmal auf längere Zeit nicht benutzen, lagern Sie die Badehilfe in
der obersten Position, so dass die Federmechanik entspannt ist.

1General Information
Thank you for choosing a Petermann product.
Please read the user manual carefully before using the product for the first time!
The Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is a mechanical aid and serves to support the patient while lowering and raising them
in the bathtub and during the Bathing process.
It is used specifically of patients in home care as well as other health care facilities.
A Bathlift is used by people with restrictions, to enter and leave the bathtub or to stand up and lay down
independently or need support during the bath procedure. By the use of the Bathlift Peter Pan Long the patient can
be bathed, washed and cared.
The use of Bathlift Peter Pan® Long should be conditional upon the user having learned to use the equipment
properly. The user has to decide for themselves what equipment is suitable to the patient's situation and the
intended sequence of movements.
The product may only be used for the specified purpose and under the specified conditions.
The information in this user manual is for the patient who is being transferred and moved, as well as the user
performing the transfer / position change.

However, the effective service life may vary depending on the frequency and intensity of use and the number of
cleaning and disinfection cycles.
Perform regular function checks on the product and be sure to observe the safety information (see item 2).
2Safety information

➢It is the responsibility of the organisation / the user to determine, on the basis of the circumstances
(weight / health condition of the patient) and the capabilities of the user, whether several users may
be required for the transfer and/or whether additional safety measures are required.
➢Defective products may no longer be used.
➢It is essential to ensure that the number of users is sufficient to ensure a safe transfer and the
bathing process in the given situation, also in regard to the medical condition of the patient.
➢Ensure that the bathing process is performed by the users in a back-friendly manner.
➢Weight limits must be observed (135 kg)
➢Ensure that the seat and backrest can move freely during use
➢Ensure that the feet and hands as well as the user's free hand are clear during lowering or raising of
the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long.

2.2 Function check
The Petermann Bathlift Peter Pan Long® is designed with a stainless steel frame and therefore doesn't require any
special maintenance. A visual inspection for defects is required before each use. The device may not be used if there
are any noticeable defects.
Periodic inspections should be performed at least once per year; i.e. visual inspection of the load-bearing parts
(function test). For sanitary reasons, the device must be cleaned regularly.

3Using the product
3.1 Indication and further use
Due to the wide range of possible applications, the indications cannot be tied to a specific clinical picture, since
Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is suitable for all applications involving people who require assistance.
This product may be reused.
The frequency of further use depends on the respective condition of the device. On the basis of the MPG (German
Medical Devices Act) "Processing of Medical Devices" § 4, para. 2 MPBetreibV (Ordinance on Operators of Medical
Devices).
A safety inspection of the device must be performed before it is used again.

If you don't use the Bathlift Peter Pan®Long for an extended period, store the Bathlift Peter Pan®Long in
the uppermost position so that the spring mechanism is unloaded.

3.2 Contraindications
Contraindications cannot be tied to a specific clinical picture. Under consideration of the safety information (see
item 2), the product may not be used if the patient has any of the following conditions:
➢Patients, who are not allowed to bathe
➢Patients with elevated muscle tone (e. g. spastic tetraplegia)
➢Patients with reduced muscle tone (e. g. ALS or MS)

3.6 Application
3.6.1 General description
The Petermann Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is used in home care as well as other health care facilities.
It was designed exclusively for use in a bathtub.
3.6.2 Setup in the tub
➢The Petermann Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is fully assembled and ready for immediate use.
➢Place the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long beside the bathtub
➢Place the included crank in the crank receiver in the front on the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long seat
➢Turn the crank in the counter clockwise direction until the device is in the uppermost position
➢Place the cover on the seat
➢Important: Insert the top into the cover first
➢Insert the sides into the cover and secure the snap fastener at the bottom
➢Place the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long as far back as possible in the bathtub. The rear feet of the Bathlift
Peter Pan® Long should rest on the floor of the bathtub just before the place where the tub curves up.
➢Press the seat down firmly so that the two front suction cups attach securely.
➢Then the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is positioned securely in the tub.

3.6.3 Operation
➢The Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is operated with the hand crank.
➢The Bathlift Peter Pan® Long can be stopped at any height.
➢The hand crank can be removed at any bathing height.
➢The hand crank can be placed in the crank box.
➢Turn to the left →Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is lowered
➢Turn to the right →Bathlift Peter Pan® Long is raised
➢Maximum number of turns →57 (from the highest to the lowest position)
3.6.4 Removal from the tub
➢Drain the bathwater
➢The Bathlift Peter Pan® Long should be in the uppermost position for cleaning
➢Rinse the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long with fresh, lukewarm water
➢The suction force of the front suction cups is released by lifting the back of the device.
➢Lift the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long out of the tub by the seat

The Petermann Bathlift Peter Pan®long is a Class I Medical Device and meets the EU-Regulation 2017/745 of
the European Parliament and Council dated 05.04.2017 for medical devices, also called MDR.
Petermann GmbH is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485 by TÜV Süd, Medical Devices - Quality
management systems applicable to the design and development, production and distribution of aids for
people of limited mobility.
5Cleaning, care and disinfection
The Petermann Bathlift Peter Pan®long is made from rust-proof components and therefore doesn't require any
special maintenance. A visual inspection for defects is required before each use. The device may not be used if there
are any noticeable defects. Therefore, please contact your responsible medical supply store or call our service
number.
For sanitary reasons, please clean the device on a regular basis. You can use common liquid household cleaner.
After cleaning, all moving parts such as the threaded rod, gears, etc. can be coated with an oil-free lubricant
(Vaseline) using a brush. The cover is machine washable up to 60°C.
If you do not wish to perform the inspection, cleaning and disinfection of your raising aid yourself, you can send
your device to our shop.
If you don't use the Bathlift Peter Pan®Long for an extended period, store the Bathlift Peter Pan® Long in
the uppermost position so that the spring mechanism is unloaded.

Please note that the warranty does not apply to:
➢Repairs which were not performed by Petermann or authorised Petermann dealers
➢Damage to or failure of the bathlift Peter-Pan Long which were caused by improper use
➢Discoloration of covers or suction cups caused by the use of medical bath essences e.g.
