Introduction
This new Philips beauty Airstylist Quattro 300 has
been specially designed to give beautiful styling
results in a quick and easy way.In order to get the
best results,please read the instructions carefully
before use.
Important
◗Before you connect the appliance,check if the
voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to your local mains voltage.
◗Keep this appliance away from water! Do not
use this product near or over water
contained in baths,washbasins,sinks etc.If you
use it in a bathroom,unplug the appliance
after use,since the proximity of water
presents a risk,even when the hairdryer is
switched off.
◗For additional protection we advise you to
install a residual current device (RCD) with a
rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit
supplying the bathroom.Ask your installer for
advice.
◗If the appliance overheats,it will switch off
automatically.Unplug the appliance and let it
cool down for a few minutes.Before you
switch the appliance on again,check the grille
to make sure it is not blocked by fluff,hair,etc.
◗Check the condition of the mains cord
regularly.Do not wind the mains cord around
the appliance.

◗If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged,
it must always be replaced by a service centre
authorised by Philips,as special tools and/or
parts are required.
◗Always ensure that the attachments are
completely dry (on the inside as well as at the
outside!) before affixing them to the styler.

Prevent contact with the skin.
◗Never block the air grilles.
◗Keep the appliance away from children.
◗Always unplug the appliance after use.
◗Wait until the appliance is cool before storing
it.
Before using the appliance
◗Before you start using theAirstylist,comb or
brush the hair so that it is untangled and
smooth.
◗TheAirstylist is most effective when the hair
is slightly damp.When your hair is dry,slightly
dampen your hair.Never use the appliance on
wet hair!
Always insert the mains plug into the wall socket
after having connected the accessories.
Using the appliance
Making curls in any length of hair
We advise you to perform a curl test to
determine how long the curling tong should be
held in your hair to achieve a good result.Start

with 8 to 10 seconds.You may have to hold the
tong longer in your hair for tighter curls.Less tight
curls will require less than 8 seconds.
C1Align the curling tong with the styler,
making sure the arrows on the attachment
are in line with the arrows on the styler.A
'click' will be heard.
2Divide the hair into locks.
C3Take a lock of hair,open the clip by
pressing the lever and position the lock
between the barrel and the clip.
4Release the lever.Slide the barrel to the
end of the lock.Wind the hair around the
tong.Make sure the end of the lock is
wound in the required direction.
- Do not wind too much hair around the barrel
at a time.
- The thinner the lock of hair,the tighter the curl
will be.
- Do not wind a lock of hair more than twice
round the barrel.
- Make sure the lock of hair is in contact with the
barrel.
C5Switch the appliance on by selecting I for a
gentle,warm airflow.Switch to speed
setting II for a stronger and warmer
airflow.

6Keep the curling tong in your hair until the
hair is warm to touch.
7Switch the appliance off and unroll the
curling tong until the clip can be openend
again.
8Leave the curls to cool down,before
finishing by combing,brushing or
fingercombing the hair into its final style.
C9Having finished the curling,switch off the
appliance.Then remove the curling tong by
pressing the release button and pulling the
curling tong in the direction of the arrow.
Follow this procedure for all attachments.
Making loose curls in short to medium hair
length.
1Align the retractable bristle brush with the
styler ('click')
2Divide the hair into locks.
3Take a lock of hair and wind it round the
brush.Make sure the end of the lock is
wound in the required direction.
◗If you wind the hair at right angles to the
scalp,you will give your hair optimum lift and
volume.

4Switch the appliance on by selecting speed
setting I or II.
5Keep the brush in your hair until the hair
is warm to touch.
C6Switch the appliance off and remove the
brush from your hair by pushing and
turning the bristle retraction knob in the
direction of the arrows.
7Leave the curls to cool down,before
finishing by combing,brushing or
fingercombing the hair into its final style.
Making waves in long hair
1Take the ends of the hair and wind them
around the retractable bristle brush in the
desired direction.
2Switch the appliance on by selecting speed
setting I or II.
3As soon as the hair is warm to touch,
switch the appliance off and carefully
remove the brush from the hair.
C4Leave the waves to cool down,before
finishing by combing,brushing or finger
combing the hair into its final style.

Making curls in any hair length
1Align the mixed bristle brush with the
styler ('click')
2Follow the same procedures as for the
retractable bristle brush (see above) with
this difference that you have to unroll the
brush after finishing a curl.The pins of the
brush are not retractable.
Make sure the brush does not get tangled in the
hair.Therefore do not rotate it in the hair more
than 1,5 turn.
Volume
1Use the shape volume brush to add
maximum volume and body to your hair.
The shape volume brush is suitable for straight
and wavy hair of any length.
◗For longer lasting result you can apply some
mousse before styling your hair.
2Insert the brush into the hair.
3Switch the appliance on by selecting speed
setting I or II.
C4Brush against the direction of hairgrowth,
touching the scalp with the brush pins.
5Rotate the brush away from the head.

The hair will be lifted and fall lightly back onto the
head.
Cleaning
1Unplug the appliance.
2Put the appliance in a safe place and let it
cool down.
3Clean the appliance with a small brush or a
dry cloth.
Storage
1Unplug the appliance.
2Do not wind the mains cord round the
appliance.
3Put the appliance in a safe place and let it
cool down.

from its hanging loop.
Replacement
Always return the appliance to an authorised

◗Der Einbau einer
Fehlerstromschutzeinrichtung mit einem

◗Bei Überhitzung wird das Gerät automatisch
ausgeschaltet.Ziehen Sie dann den Stecker

Vor dem Gebrauch des Geräts
◗Kämmen und/oder bürsten Sie Ihr Haar glatt,
bevor Sie das Gerät benutzen.
◗Das beste Ergebnis erhalten Sie,wenn Ihr
Haar ein wenig feucht ist.Sollte das Haar
trocken sein,so feuchten Sie es zuvor ein
wenig an.Verwenden Sie das Gerät niemals bei
nassem Haar!

Bringen Sie stets die Aufsätze auf dem Gerät an
bevor Sie den Netzstecker in die Steckdose
stecken.
Der Gebrauch des Geräts
Locken von Haar jeder Länge
Wir empfehlen Ihnen,durch einenTest
festzustellen,wie lange die Ondulierschere im
Haar bleiben muss,um ein gutes Ergebnis zu
erzielen.Beginnen Sie mit 8 bis 10 Sekunden.
Halten Sie sie länger im Haar,so erhalten Sie
festere Locken.Die Locken fallen lockerer aus,
wenn die die Ondulierschere kürzer als
8 Sekunden im Haar halten.
C1Bringen Sie die Ondulierschere auf dem
Gerät an.Achten Sie darauf,dass die Pfeile
auf der Ondulierschere mit den Pfeilen auf
dem Gerät übereinstimmen.Die
Stylingdüse rastet mit einem "Klick" ein.
2Teilen Sie Ihr Haar in Strähnen.
C3Fassen Sie eine Strähne,öffnen Sie die
Ondulierschere,indem Sie auf den Hebel
drücken,und legen Sie die Strähne
zwischen den Ondulierstab und die
Lockenklammer.
4Lassen Sie den Hebel los.Lassen Sie den
Frisierstab bis zum Ende der Strähne
gleiten.Wickeln Sie das Haar um die

Ondulierschere.Achten Sie darauf,dass
jede Strähne in die gewünschte Richtung
gewickelt wird.
- Wickeln Sie nicht zu viel Haar auf einmal um
das Gerät.
- Je dünner die Strähne,desto fester wird die
Locke.
- Wickeln Sie nicht mehr als zwei Lagen um das
Gerät.
- Achten Sie darauf,dass das Haar mit dem Stab
in Berührung kommt.
C5Wenn Sie Position I wählen,erhalten Sie
einen sanften,warmen Luftstrom;auf
Position II erhalten Sie einen stärkeren und
wärmeren Luftstrom.
6Halten Sie die Ondulierschere im Haar,bis
sich die Haarsträhne warm anfühlt.
7Schalten Sie das Gerät aus,und wickeln Sie
das Haar ab,bis sich die Lockenklammer
wieder öffnen lässt.
8Lassen Sie die Locken abkühlen,bevor Sie
sie zur endgültigen Frisur kämmen oder
bürsten bzw.mit den Fingern in die
richtige Form bringen.
C9Wenn Sie mit dem Stylen fertig sind,so
schalten Sie das Gerät aus.Drücken Sie
dann dieAuslösetaste,und ziehen Sie die
Bürste in Pfeilrichtung aus dem Haar.

einen der anderen Aufsätze verwenden.
Lockere Locken in kurzem oder halblangem
Haar
1Setzen Sie die Bürste mit den einziehbaren
Bürstenreihen auf das Gerät ("Klick").
2Teilen Sie Ihr Haar in Strähnen.
3Fassen Sie eine Strähne,und winden Sie sie
rund um die Bürste.Achten Sie darauf,dass
die Strähne in die gewünschte Richtung
aufgewickelt wird.
◗Wenn Sie das Haar senkrecht zur Kopfhaut
aufwickeln,erhalten Sie den besten Stand und
das höchsteVolumen.
4Schalten Sie das Gerät ein,indem Sie den
Schalter auf Position I oder II stellen.
5Halten Sie die Bürste im Haar,bis sich die
Strähne warm anfühlt.
C6Schalten Sie das Gerät aus,drücken Sie die
Auslösetaste für die Bürstenreihen und
drehen Sie die Bürste in Pfeilrichtung.
7Lassen Sie die Locken abkühlen,bevor Sie
sie zur endgültigen Frisur kämmen oder
bürsten bzw.mit den Fingern in die
richtige Form bringen.

Locken in langem Haar
1Fassen Sie die Haarenden und wickeln Sie
die Strähne um die Bürste mit den
einziehbaren Bürstenreihen in die
gewünschte Richtung.
2Schalten Sie das Gerät ein,indem Sie den
Schalter auf Position I oder II stellen.
3Schalten Sie das Gerät aus,sobald die
Strähne sich warm anfühlt,und nehmen Sie
die Bürste vorsichtig aus dem Haar.
C4Lassen dieWellen abkühlen,bevor Sie die
Frisur durch Bürsten,Kämmen oder mit
den Fingern in die gewünschte Form
bringen.
Locken von Haar jeder Länge
1Bringen Sie die Bürste mit den gemischten
Borsten auf dem Gerät an ("Klick").
2Gehen Sie auf die gleicheWeise vor wie
bei der Bürste mit einziehbaren
Bürstenreihen (s.o.).Sie müssen allerdings
das Haar nach der Bearbeitung von dieser
Bürste abrollen;die Bürstenreihen sind
nämlich nicht einziehbar.
Achten Sie darauf,dass sich die Bürste nicht im
Haar verfängt.Wickeln Sie darum nicht mehr
Haar um die Bürste als 1 1/2 Umdrehungen.

Volumen
1Verwenden Sie dieVolumen-Bürste,um
dem Haar Stand und maximalesVolumen
zu geben.
DieVolumen-Bürste ist sowohl für glattes wie für
gewelltes Haar jeder Länge geeignet.
◗Wenn Sie vor dem Stylen ein wenig
Frisierschaum ins Haar geben,hält die Frisur
länger.
2Setzen Sie die Bürste ins Haar.
3Schalten Sie das Gerät ein,indem Sie den
Schalter auf Position I oder II stellen.
C4Bürsten Sie das Haar gegen die
Haarwuchsrichtung,wobei die Borsten die
Kopfhaut berühren sollten.
5Rollen Sie die Bürste vom Kopf fort.
Auf dieseWeise wird das Haar angehoben und
fällt locker auf den Kopf zurück.
Reinigung
1Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der
Steckdose.
2Lassen Sie das Gerät an einem sicheren
Ort abkühlen.
3Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einer kleinen
Bürste oder einem trockenenTuch.
