Before you begin
• Turn water o and drain pipes before installation.
• Phyn Plus must be installed in accordance with all local codes
and requirements.
• Installation of Phyn Plus is not recommended on main water
distribution pipes larger than 1-1/4 inches without a thorough review
of plumbing demand and hydraulic performance.
Choosing where to install Phyn Plus
Phyn Plus can be installed indoors or outdoors, horizontally or
vertically. The device cannot be installed in a location where it can be
submerged.
Install Phyn Plus on the main water distribution pipe immediately
after the main shuto valve and before connections or branches to
any plumbing fixture(s) or other devices. Phyn monitors pipes that are
located “after” or downstream of the unit. Fixtures or pipes, including
irrigation or water softeners, that are located “before” or upstream of
the unit will not be able to be monitored.
Phyn Plus must be located within 15 feet of a 120V electrical outlet.
We recommend using only an outlet equipped with a ground fault
circuit interrupter (GFCI).
WARNING: There is risk of electric shock if Phyn Plus is not mounted the
required minimum distance from the ground. The device must be mounted
such that the lowest edge of the enclosure is at least 12 inches above the
ground surface.
CAUTION: Phyn Plus is not compatible with multipurpose fire sprinkler
systems. If a standalone fire sprinkler system is present, the device must be
installed after the connection or branch to the sprinkler system.

Phyn Plus installation guidelines
Maximum working pressure is 100psi at 73.4F (23C).
Use caution when applying heat near Phyn Plus, as damage to the
device or gaskets may occur. Make any heat related connections prior
to installing the device.
To avoid risk of fire and shock: use only the provided cable and
power adapter.
When connecting Phyn Plus, verify that the coupling nuts are properly
aligned to avoid cross-threading or damage to the device. An eective
method for starting the coupling nut is:
1 Position the nut squarely against the threaded end of
the device.
2Turn the nut counterclockwise (in reverse) while holding the
nut against the device threads. When the first threads on the
nut and the device coincide, you will hear a slight click and
feel the nut move into the starting position.
3Finger tighten the nut until it is snug.
4With an open-end wrench, apply a partial turn. Do not over
tighten. A one-quarter turn is usually sucient.
The gap between fittings should be 11-5/16 inches to accommodate the
device and two gaskets.
Use cable tie mounts and zip ties (included in box) to ensure that no
cables are hanging loose or creating a hazard.
Pairing Phyn Plus
If you are pairing Phyn Plus to the homeowner’s Wi-Fi network, you will
need their network name, Wi-Fi password, mobile number, and email
