2. Product Description
Ther aCheck LT (TC160-LT) is a portable battery powered infrared ca era designed for screening individuals for
elevated body te perature (EBT). It ay be used as a handheld device or ounted on a tripod for hands free
operation. TC160-LT has a self-contained LCD onitor to display real-ti e ther al i ages while te perature
easure ents are auto atically taken fro an individual in the scene. An alert sounds if the te perature of the
individual is above a user defined threshold. The re ote te perature sensing operation provided by TC160-LT
allows social distancing to be aintained while responsible public EBT screening is conducted.
WARNING: TC1 0-LT may be damaged if improperly used. Please read the Operational Care section
of this manual to insure a long life for this precision instrument.

Notes:
1. Subject’s te perature will auto atically appear in top left corner of the display. If the subject’s
te perature is above the user defined threshold, an audible alar will sound and the te perature
display will turn red.
2. An incorrect head box scaling will reduce the accuracy of the te perature reading. See Section 5 to
adjust head box size.
3. The threshold te perature to trigger an alar is defined by user in settings, see Setting menu Section 8,
ite (5)
4. The preferred environ ental te perature should fall in the range of: 64 - 79˚F (18 - 26˚C)
5. If the background has a strong heat signature source, consider facing the ca era in another direction
during screening
6. Te perature easure ents of subjects entering the screening area fro the outside could be affected if
there is a significant te perature difference between these two environ ents.

9. Camera Calibration
The ca era te perature reading can be calibrated against a hu an subject using the following steps.
1. Have the subject stand at desired distance fro the ca era for your screening conditions.
2. Using the front panel Up/Down arrows to scale the display box to the sa e width as the subject’s head
(See Section 5).
3. Deter ine the subject’s body te perature using a standard forehead or ear ther o eter.
4. Enter the Settings Menu by pressing the Power/Select button and navigate to and selecting the
Temperature compensation enu ite .
5. Use the front panel Up/Down arrows to adjust the ca era’s te perature reading to atch the calibration
subject’s te perature.
10. Operational Care
TC160-LT is a precision instru ent that ay be da aged if used i properly. Please ake sure that all use of the
ca era strictly adheres to the following guidelines.
1. Do not point the ca era toward strong sources of radiation, such as the sun or laser light. Viewing strong
sources of radiation with the TC160-LT will da age the sensor and degrade the ca era’s perfor ance.
2. Avoid prolonged viewing of high te perature objects that exceed TC160-LT’s reco ended te perature
range.
3. Do not use the ca era in an environ ent where the te perature exceeds 45 °C.
4. Do not touch the lens. Da aging the lens will affect the ca era’s perfor ance.
5. Please do not try to disasse ble the ca era. If your ca era needs service, please contact Planck Vision

12. Can ThermaCheck LT be used to diagnose illness?
No. The TC160-LT ca era is designed for preli inary te perature screening only. Although the available scientific
literature supports the use of infrared ca eras for this purpose [1], they cannot be used for edical diagnostics
since the skin te perature is influenced by environ ental conditions. Individuals with abnor al skin te perature
readings should be further evaluated with a edical grade ther o eter.
Planck Vision Syste s is not advertising our ca eras as edical equip ent. Our products can only identify
individuals with elevated skin te perature. There is no way to ther ally detect an infected individual who does
not have an elevated body or skin te perature and only a licensed edical professional can deter ine if such an
individual is experiencing an abnor al edical condition.
