Important Notes:
1. The unit contains high-precision parts. Therefore, avoid extreme temperatures,
humidity and direct sunlight. Do not drop the main unit, do not expose it to a strong
shock and prevent dust.
2. The device should not be used by children to avoid dangerous situations.
3. The device should not be repaired by unqualied people. Do not use any tool to
open the device or do not attempt to adjust any parts contained in the device. If
you have any problems, please call your dealer where you purchased the product.
4. To stop ination at any time, open the air release valve. This way air in the cuff is
released.
Storage and Maintenance:
1. After the measurement, wrap the cuff around the scale and pump and store them
in the bag together with the stethoscope.
2. Denitely release the air prior to storage.
3. Do not approach the cuff with any drilling agent.
4. As follows, you can easily test the accuracy of your sphygmomanometer: the
indicator on the scale should indicate the area under “0” with red color when air is
completely released. Under normal circumstances the device should be calibrated
in every two years. Clean your device with a soft moist cloth. Do not iron, wash the
cuff, or clean it with chemicals or chemical cleanser. Never use thinner, alcohol or
kerosene.
Safety Information:
1. Plusmed pM-A01S Aneroid Sphygmomanometer is manufactured to measure
blood pressure on the arm on a healthy skin.
2. Do not inate the cuff over 300mmHg.
3. Do not continue blood pressure measurement more than 3 minutes. Wait at least 2
minutes to take measurements again.

INTRODUCTION
Plusmed pM-A01S Aneroid Sphygmomanometer is manufactured in compliance with
both the EN ISO81060-1:2012 standard and the EEC directive 93/42/dated 14 June
1993 regarding medical devices and its following modifications. The CE mark shows
proof of this and so does the 1984 Notified Body. For an accurate measurement,
calibration is advisable in every two years.
Preliminary remarks
This Sphygmomanometer, compliant with Medical Devices Directive within European
legislation, upholds “CE 1984” CE mark. The device’s quality has been approved and
it conforms to the terms of European Community directive 93/42/EEC dated June
14, 1993 related to medical devices and to the general requirements of EN 1060-1
(1995, A1: 2002) related to non-invasive blood pressure measuring equipment and to
additional requirements of EN 1060-2 (1996) related to non-invasive blood pressure
measurement equipment for electro-mechanical blood pressure measuring systems.
Aneroid Sphygmomanometers are also consistent with ANSI/AAMI SP-10: 2002. For
an accurate measurement, calibration is advisable in every two years.
About Blood Pressure Measurement
It is important to consult your physician regularly. Your physician will tell you about your
blood pressure range and the points where you are at risk.
If you want your blood pressure to be a reliable reference, keep long-term records.
Cuff Application:
1. Fasten the cuff around the upper part of your naked arm and wrap the cuff so that
the tubes face your palm. The caption “artery” should be on your main artery.
2. Cuff should be placed about 2-3 cm above the top of your elbow. To get accurate
measurements, the cuff size should be suitable for your arm.
Measurement Procedure:
Place the stethoscope on your main artery lining with artery indication, as shown by
Figure 1.
After closing the valve, inate the cuff by pumping 30-40 mmHg more than your
normal blood pressure value. (Figure 2)
To discharge the air in the cuff, gradually open the valve, dropping 2-3 mmHg per
minute. (Figure 3)
The rst Korotkoff sounds in your ear represent your systolic blood pressure value and
the value at the moment those sounds end is your diastolic value.
After the measurement, open the valve to discharge the cuff completely.
