Dear Customer,
Welcome to the world of Polti where the fragrance of freshly ground Italian coffee, intense aroma and a
balanced flavour are the result of a production process over seen every step of the way.
With Capri the ritual of making a cup of espresso is quick and modern: in a capsule. The coffee you make
tastes, smells and looks like the finest espresso made in the true Italian tradition.
Capri coffee machine works with AromaPolti’s customised capsules only. Each cup is individually brewed and
you control the flavor concentration. Use a small demitasse cup for a short Italian-style espresso; press the
brew button to start, then press it again to stop when the cup is half-full. Or, enjoy a less concentrated taste by
using a taller cup; press the brew button to start; press the button again when the cup is full to stop the brew
cycle.
Each capsule contains just the right amount of coffee and just the right grind to obtain the best espresso
coffee in a few seconds. The wrapper on the capsule is made of polypropylene, an excellent material for use
in contact with foodstuff. It is hygienic, convenient, and very resistant to high temperatures. The capsule sy-
stem is not only very convenient and easy to use, it guarantees all the freshness and aroma of freshly roasted
coffee, so that you can enjoy your favourite blend.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE OR INJURY:
Read all instructions carefully before using the appliance.
• The wiring system to which the appliance is connected must always comply with applicable
laws and regulations.
• Connecting the appliance to improper voltage may cause injury of fire or result in damage to the
appliance. Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the voltage is the same as the voltage
indicated on the data label of the appliance. No adapter should be used with this appliance.
• If the appliance is left unused, disconnect it from electrical outlet.

• Always turn off the appliance using the on/off switch before unplugging it.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
USING THE APPLIANCE:
• Do not wind the power cable around the appliance, especially when the appliance is still hot .
• Care should be used to arrange the cord so as not to trip over it .
• If the appliance has been dropped, damaged, or immersed in water, or leaks, do not use and
contact the customer care as the internal safety features may have been affected.
• In case of breakdown or malfunction switch off the appliance and never attempt to disassemble
it, but contact the customer care.
• This appliance is equipped with safety devices which are to be replaced only by a qualified
technician.
• Let the appliance cool down before cleaning it or carrying out any maintenance.
• Before storing the appliance make sure that it has completely cooled down.
• Before switching on the appliance, check that there is water in the reservoir.
• To fill the water reservoir use only fresh, clean water. Never use sparkling mineral water,
demineralised water, distilled water, milk or other liquids.
• While refilling the reservoir, switch off and disconnect the appliance from the power source.
• During use do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.
• Position the appliance on a horizontal work surface.
• Let the appliance cool down before cleaning it.
• Before storing the appliance make sure that it has completely cooled down.
• This appliance works exclusively with “AromaPolti” capsules. The use of different capsules will
void the guarantee.
• Press the buttons only with a finger, without excessive force and avoid using pointed objects
such as a pen or a screwdriver.
• To avoid compromising the safety of the appliance use only original spare parts.
• Do not place the hot appliance on heat-sensitive surfaces.

CORRECT PRODUCT USE
This appliance is intended for household use only
according to the descriptions and instructions con-
tained in this user manual. Please read these in-
structions carefully and keep them, they could be
useful in the future.
Polti S.p.A. declines all responsibility in case of
accident due to the use of this appliance which
is not in accordance with the present instruc-
tions for use.
THE CAPSULE SYSTEM
The machine is designed exclu-
sively for use with the "AromaPolti" capsule
system.
Use with capsules other than
"Aroma Polti" capsules will result in forfeiture
of the warranty.
“AromaPolti” capsules can be pur-
chased at the retailers where you bought this
machine or at www.polti.com.
START-UP OF THE MACHINE
•Open the reservoir lid (9).
•Remove the water reservoir
pulling it upwards(8), wash it
with clean cold water and
replace it back to the
machine.
•Fill up the reservoir (8) only
with clean cold water and
close the lid. Do not use
sparkling water or other liquids
to fill the reservoir.
•Before connecting the
machine to the power supply,
make sure that the On/Off
switch is on the “Off” position.
•Plug the power cord (7) into a
suitable socket.
•Switch on the appliance by
pressing the power switch (6).
The red light of the
switch/indicator will come on
(3).
•Wait until the light becomes
green. At this point you can
make coffee.
• The first time you use the appliance, it is im-
portant to carry out a wash cycle as described
in the paragraph “Cleaning internal circuits”.
• Whenever the machine is turned on, it is
recommended to brew only water for a few
seconds, without introducing any capsules, so
as to stabilize the temperature and clean
brewing parts.
• After the first time the green light (3) comes
on, coffee can be regularly dispensed even if
the red switch/indicator light (3) is on. The al-
ternation of the red or green light is due to the
normal heating cycle of the boiler.

PREPARING THE COFFEE
•Place a cup under the coffee
dispenser (4).
•If you use large cups, use the
reducer grill (5a) making it sli-
de into the drip tray (5b).
•If you use small cups, use
the reducer grill (5a) positio-
ning it above the drip tray
(5b).
Make sure there is enough water in the
reservoir (8). If not, fill in water as explained in sec-
tion “Start-up of the machine”.
•Open the lever of the
capsule compartment (1) and
place the capsule in the
compartment (2) as shown.
•Close the door by pressing
down gently so that it is
completely flat.
The capsule is pushed automatically into the
compartment by closing the lever (1) pushing it
all the way down. Do not use your fingers for
any reason to push the capsule.
•Press the coffee switch /
delivery indicator light light (3).
•A few moments later, the
coffee will start to come out.
Once the desired quantity of
coffee has been dispensed,
press the switch/indicator light
again (3) to stop delivery. You
can thus prepare a long or
short coffee according to
preference, by simply dosing the quantity
delivered.
•The used capsule will
automatically fall into the
collection drawer (5c) every
time the lever is opened.
The used capsules collection
drawer (5c) must be emptied frequently to
prevent the accumulation of used capsules
from clogging the exit channel.
EMPTYING THE USED CAPSULES
COLLECTION DRAWER
•To empty the capsules collection drawer and drip
drawer (5) proceed as follows:
•Remove the drawer (5) from
the appliance.
•Separate the drip drawer
(5b) from the capsules
collection drawer (5c) and
empty them.
Wash both drawers and fit
them back into the appliance.

MAINTENANCE
• Before attempting any maintenance operation,
make sure to always disconnect the appliance
from the power source.
• To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a
moist cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents as
these could damage the plastic surfaces.
• Empty the capsules collection drawer (5c) and
the drip tray (5b) regularly.
• Wash the accessories with water and detergent.
• Never wash any part in a dishwasher.
• Do not leave water inside the reservoir if you are
not going to use the machine for a long time.
• For the best hygiene it is recommended to wash
the reservoir every day
CLEANING THE INTERNAL CIRCUITS
• For the maintenance of your Polti’s coffee ma-
chine, it is recommended to clean the internal
circuits every 2/3 days.
Carry out the cleaning following the same pro-
cess used for coffee preparation :
- Open the capsule compartment lever (1). In-
side the compartment there should already be
a capsule; make sure it falls down into the col-
lection drawer. Close the lever pushing it until
the end.
- Press the coffee switch / delivery indicator light
(3). A few moments later the water will start to
come out. Continue till the water released is as
much as the content of a cup of coffee.
TIPS: Place a cup under the coffee dispenser.
To degrease and decalcify your Polti capsule coffee-
marker, we recommend using the Clean Espresso clea-
ning kit.
Clean Epsresso cleans and protects, extending the life of
your coffeemarker thanks to two new, specifically desi-
gned formulas (decalcifying and degreasing).
Clean Espresso is available in the same stores
selling Polti’s coffee machine or at
www.polti.com .
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS, CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS

This product is warranted to the original purchaser or the person receiving the product as a gift
against defects in materials and workmanship as based on the date of original purchase from an
Authorized Dealer. The original sales receipt showing the product name and the purchase date from
an authorized retailer is considered proof of the date of purchase.
Subject to the exclusions contained below, Polti USA, Inc. warrants this product to be free from de-
fects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 (one) year from the date of purchase.
At its option, Polti USA, Inc. will either repair the product at no charge, using new or refurbished re-
placement parts, or exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactu-
red from new, or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product
in current inventory, or refund the original purchase price of the product. Polti USA, Inc. warrants re-
placement products or parts provided under this warranty against defects in materials and workman-
ship from the date of the replacement or repair for the remaining portion of the original product's war-
ranty. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the
replaced item becomes Polti USA, Inc.’s property.
When a refund is given, your product becomes Polti USA, Inc.'s property. Replacement product can
only be sent if all warranty requirements are met. Failure to follow all requirements can result in de-
lay or denial of warranty.
This limited warranty does not cover defects due to incorrect use or use other than that identified in
the instruction manual, which is an integral part of the contract of sale for the product. The limited
warranty does not cover parts that are subject to normal wear and tear (consumables such as filters,
brushes, etc.).
Defects or damage that result from (a) the use of non-Polti original accessories, spare parts or con-
sumables, (b) improper operation, storage, misuse or abuse, accident or neglect, such as physical
damage (cracks, scratches, etc.) to the surface of the product resulting from misuse, (c) use of the
products for commercial purposes; (d) subjecting the product to abnormal usage or conditions, (e) li-
mescale build-up, and (f) chance (fire, short circuit) which are not the fault of Polti USA, Inc., are ex-
cluded from coverage.
Polti will accept no responsibility for any injury to people or animals or damage to property directly or
indirectly resulting from failure to follow the instructions provided in the instruction manual, including
without limitation warnings and product maintenance instructions.
The limited warranty does not cover damage caused by service performed by anyone other than an
Authorized Service Location, to a product or a part that has been modified without written permis-
sion, if the recommended maintenance of the product is not correctly performed or if any product’s
serial number has been removed or defaced.

♦ Product repair and/or part replacement because of improper use or maintenance, connections to
improper voltage supply, power line surge, lighting damage, unauthorized repair or other cause
not within the control of Polti USA, Inc..
♦ Damage from mishandled shipments or transit accidents when returning product.
♦ A product that requires modification or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country other than
the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of pro-
ducts damaged by these modifications.
♦ Product lost in shipment and no signature verification receipt can be provided or if no Return Mer-
chandise Authorization number was issued by our customer service team.
♦ Failure to operate in accordance with the Instructions Manual.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED TO

TRACT OR TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) FOR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE
PRICE OF THE PRODUCT OR ACCESSORY, OR FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL
OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, OR LOSS OF REVENUE OR PROFITS, OR
OTHER FINANCIAL LOSS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE ABILITY OR INABI-
LITY TO USE THE PRODUCTS, TO THE FULL EXTENT THESE DAMAGES MAY BE DISCLAIMED
BY LAW.
Some states and jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of incidental or consequential
damages, or limitation on the length of an implied warranty, so the above limitations or exclusions
may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other ri-
