1. Introduction
1.1 Description
WADE-8170, the eading Mini-ITX adopts Inte
®
energy-efficient processor based on current
Inte ® architecture products. Transistor comparison based on 45nm processors in
production and compatib e for high-end computing app ications with PCI-E bus architecture
to adapt to today’s demands and keep comp ete compatibi ity with hardware and software
designed. The onboard devices support one PCI s ot for f exib e expansibi ity of graphics
interfaces, integrated graphics, onboard dua Rea tek ALC8111C Gigabit Ethernet contro ers.
It’s beneficia to bui d up a high performance and fast transmission avai abi ity system for
VARs, or system integrators.

Atom™ N270 Processor via Inte
®
945GSE and ICH7M
chipset integrated GMA 950 graphics with DVMT 3.0 disp ay memory up to 128 MB. The
board supports So-Dimm up to 1 GB SDRAM with dua channe DDR2 533MHz, enhanced
onboard two SATA with high-speed data transferring at up to 300 MB/s, integrated Rea tek
ALC655 5.1 + 2 CH high definition audio codec. The onboard Super I/O ITE IT8712 chipset
supports two RS-232 seria port interfaces, Hardware Monitor function, eight Hi-speed USB
2.0 ports, and two 6-pin Mini-DIN connectors for PS/2 mouse and keyboard. Besides, one
DC-in 12V, 15-24V through 4-pin connector designed to support ATX power function, and a
feature of CPU overheat protection wi provide user more security and stabi ity.
Combing with these outstanding features in the Mini-ITX form factor, WADE-8170 is
definite y the most exce ent choice for embedded app ications ike Network, Point of Sa es

CHAPTER 2
2. Hardware Configuration Setting
This chapter gives the definitions and shows the positions of jumpers, headers and
connectors. A of the configuration jumpers on WADE-8170 are in the proper position. The
defau t settings shipped from factory are marked with an asterisk ().
In genera , jumpers on the Mini ITX are used to se ect options for certain features. Some of
the jumpers are designed to be user-configurab e, a owing for system enhancement. The
others are for testing purpose on y and shou d not be a tered. To se ect any option, cover the
jumper cap over (SHORT) or remove (NC) it from the jumper pins according to the fo owing
instructions. Here, NC stands for “Not Connect”.
