The Cyclone Dust Collection System turns a shop vacuum into a
2-stage cyclone separator. The Cyclone Dust Collection System
causes a vortex action inside the bucket to collect debris before it
enters the vacuum, this helps prevent the loss of suction power.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always follow basic safety precautions including the following.
WARNING
For your own safety, read, understand and follow the owner’s
manual and all labels on the tools and dust collector/vacuum
before using any tool or equipment.
WARNING
Some dust created by operation of power tool contains chemicals
known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects
or other reproductive harm. To reduce your exposure to these
chemicals, work in a well ventilated area and work with approved
safety equipment. Always wear OSHA/NIOSH approved, properly
fitting face mask or respirator when using such tools. .
WARNING
Do not attempt to operate tool until it is completely assembled
according to the instructions.
WARNING
Metal shavings or dust can set sawdust on fire. Collect wood
materials only. Do not collect metal shavings or dust with anything
that has metal in it. Disconnect dust collector system from any tool
before working on metals. Remove all traces of wood dust from
inside that tool’s dust traps. Remove all traces of metal shavings
or dust before reconnecting the vacuum/dust collector.
IMPORTANT: To prevent static build-up, make sure the hose
is grounding. Always ensure the dust collection network is
properly grounded. If in doubt, contact an electrician.

3. Connect the system to a shop vacuum or dust collector.
The shop vacuum or dust collector MUST be connected to
the dust port WITHOUT the elbow.
a. Connect to a shop vacuum with a 2-1/4" ID port:
• Thread a quick connect coupler onto one of the
2-1/2" ID polypropylene hoses. IMPORTANT: When
connecting the hose to the quick connect
coupler, the end of the hose MUST be extended
in order to thread into the left handed threads of
the coupler.
• Connect the coupler to the dust port on the lid
without the elbow.
• Thread a second quick connect coupler into the
other end of the polypropylene hose and connect
the 2-1/4" OD end into the shop vacuum port.

The kit comes with a variety of components
that can be configured to perform several
types of connections. Make these
connections after the Cyclone Dust
Collection System is connected to the shop
vacuum or dust collector. Here are
some examples.
• Connect to 2-1/2" OD port – Connect one end of a
2-1/2" ID polypropylene hose directly to a 2-1/2" OD
machine port and secure with the 2-3/4" hose clamp. Using
a quick change coupler, connect the other end of the hose
directly to the Cyclone dust port.

• Connect to small tool dust port – Use the 2-1/4" end of
the 2-1/4" to 1-1/2' adapter to connect directly to the Cyclone
dust port and the 1-1/2" OD end to the 1-1/2" ID end of a
small hose kit, similar to Powertec 70175.

NOTE: The 2-1/2" ID polypropylene hose can also be
connected directly to either port of the Cyclone Dust Collection
System by using the 2-3/4" hose clamp.
NOTE: Empty the bucket when the debris reaches the
FULL LINE for maximum performance. See Figure 3.
• Adjust the casters – The casters are attached to the
bottom of the bucket with M12 nuts and can be adjusted to
match the work surface .
-Use a M12 wrench to loosen the nut on the bottom of
the bucket.
-Move the nut up or down to the proper height.
-Hold the M12 nut on the inside of the bucket while
tightening the M12 nut on the bottom of the bucket.
-Repeat on the other casters if needed.
