Read these operating instructions carefully before using this ap-
pliance for the first time and preserve this booklet for later
reference. Pass this booklet on to whoever might acquire the
appliance at a future date.
Intended Usage
This Multi-Function Detector is intended for utilisation in
locating metal or wood bearers, metal objects, cavities
and power supply lines. The appliance is intended for
domestic use only. Do not use it for commercial applications.
Safety instructions
Risk of personal injury!
• Do not use the appliance at locations where there is
a risk of fire or explosion, e.g. in the vicinity of inflam-
mable liquids or gases.
• This appliance is not intended for use by individuals
(including children) with restricted physical, physiological
or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience
and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a
person responsible for their safety or receive from this
person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
Warning against damage to the appliance!
• NEVER subject the appliance to rain. Do not use the
appliance in wet or moist environments.
• Do NOT use the appliance to determine the alternating
voltage in exposed or non-insulated power cables.
• Do NOT use the appliance as a substitute for a Voltmeter.

Advice about locating objects
The appliance does not always recognise all metal objects,
cavities or electrical cables. The following conditions can
contribute to inexact results:
- very thick walls
- weak battery
- deeply laid power cables or metal objects
- shielded cables
- thick walls with thin pipes or power cables
- walls panelled with metal sheets
- very moist conditions
• With this appliance power cables cannot be determined
in circuits,
- which are isolated from the mains power supply.
- through which direct current flows.
- which are used for computer or telecommunications
systems.
• No liability will be accepted for damage caused by
manipulation of the appliance and through disregard
of the safety instructions.
Interaction with batteries
Risk of explosion!
Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not recharge non-
rechargeable batteries.
• Never open batteries, never solder or weld batteries.
Never short-circuit batteries. The risk of explosions and
injuries exists!
• If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended
period remove the battery, otherwise it could leak cor-
rosive acids.
• If the batteries have leaked, put on a pair of protective
gloves to avoid the risk of injury through chemical burns.
Clean the battery compartment and the battery contacts
with a dry cloth.
• Always replace the battery with a battery of the same type.
• Keep batteries away from children. Children can put
batteries into their mouths and swallow them. If a battery
is swallowed immediately seek medical assistance.

Unpacking
Take the multi-purpose detector from its packaging.
Remove all transport restraints and packaging materials.
Inserting the battery
1. Open the battery compartment 4at the rear of the
multi-purpose detector.
2. Place the 9V block battery onto the contacts. Pay heed
to the correct polarity.
3. Press the 9V block battery into the battery compart-
ment 4.

Warning:
Ensure that the wires are not trapped in any way. This could
irreparably damage the appliance.
4. Close the battery compartment 4. The battery com-
partment lid must audibly engage.
Examples of utilisation
Tips:
• In the utilisation examples the appliance is shown as being
horizontal to the wall. However, you can also use the ap-
pliance vertical to the wall!
• Before putting it to use, test the appliance by locating a known
bearer or cavity etc., to ensure that it is working correctly.
• In cases of doubt, always consult a qualified building con-
tractor.

Locating bearers and cavities
Attention!
Before boring a hole in the wall, also check to ensure that there
is not a cable carrying alternate current located under the sur-
face. Therefore, after detecting metals, ALWAYS carry out an
additional search for power cables!
Tips:
To enable a power cable to be detected by the appliance, its
circuit must be under power. If you wish to trace for example
the cable route from light switch to lamp, switch the lamp on.
1. Press the button ON/OFF 5to switch the appliance on.
2. Repeatedly press the function switch 3until an arrow
appears above one of the following detection objects in
the display 2:
STUD (Locating bearers)
METAL (Locating metallic objects)
DEEP (Locating cavities)
AC (Locating power supply lines)
3. Hold the detector with the underside flat against the
area to be examined and press the button PUSH 6
down (several short signal tones sound).
4. Now slowly slide the detector in this position over the
wall.
5. Should an appropriate object be located close to the
measuring head 1, at first a few and then more be-
ams will appear in the display 2.
• The closer the measuring head 1is located to the
object, the greater the number of beams shown in the
display 2.
• When a constant signal tone can be heard this indicates
that the object is located directly under the measuring
head 1of the detector. Additionally, an arrow ap-
pears in the display 2.
6. Now, move the detector further over the area, until the
number of beams in the display reduces and the signal
tone switches itself off, to pinpoint the exact position and
placing of the object.

Battery display
A battery symbol appears in the display 2when the battery
is weak resp. almost discharged. Replace the battery as soon
as possible (see section "Inserting the battery").
If you do not, the measurements will be false.
Automatic switch-off
If a button is not activated for approx. 60 seconds, the
appliance switches itself off automatically.
Cleaning and storage
• Store the appliance at a dry and frost-free location.
• If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended
period, remove the battery from the battery compart-
ment.
• Clean the appliance with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
These could damage the housing.
Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal
domestic waste. This product is subject to the
provisions of European Directive 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal
centre or at your community waste facility.
Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of
doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposal of batteries/accumulators
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed
of in household waste. Every consumer is legally obliged to
dispose of batteries at a collection site of his community/city
district or at a retail store.
The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that batteries
are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose
of batteries when they are fully discharged.
Dispose of the packaging materials in an environ-
mentally responsible manner.

Määräystenmukainen käyttö
Rakenneilmaisin on suunniteltu metalli- tai puupalkkien,
metallikohteiden, onttojen tilojen ja sähköjohtojen paikallis-
tamiseen. Tämä laite on tarkoitettu ainoastaan yksityistar-
koituksiin. Älä käytä sitä ammattitarkoituksessa.
Turvaohjeet
Loukkaantumisvaara!
• Älä käytä laitetta paikoissa, joissa on olemassa tulipalon
tai räjähdyksen vaara, esim. palavien nesteiden tai
kaasujen läheisyydessä.
• Tätä laitetta ei ole tarkoitettu sellaisten henkilöiden (mu-
kaan lukien lapset) käyttöön, joiden rajoitetut, fyysiset,
aistilliset tai henkiset kyvyt tai kokemuksen ja/tai tiedon
puute estävät käytön, lukuun ottamatta tilanteita, joissa
heitä valvoo turvallisuudesta vastaava henkilö tai joissa
he ovat saaneet tältä ohjeita laitteen käytöstä.

Ohjeita kohteiden etsimiseen
Laite ei tunnista aina kaikkia metallikohteita, onttoja tiloja
ja johtoja. Seuraavat olosuhteet saattavat aiheuttaa epä-
tarkkoja tuloksia:
- erittäin paksut seinät
- heikot paristot
- syvällä sijaitsevat johdot ja metallikohteet
- suojatut johdot
- paksut seinät ja ohuet putket tai johdot
- metallipinnoitetut seinät
- erittäin kosteat olosuhteet
• Tällä laitteella ei voida havaita mitään johtoja virta-
piireissä,
- jotka on eristetty verkkojännitesyötöstä.
- joiden läpi virtaa tasavirta.
- joita käytetään tietokone- tai televiestintäjärjestelmille.
• Emme ota vastuuta vaurioista, joiden syynä on laitteen
manipulointi tai turvaohjeiden noudattamatta jättäminen.
Paristojen käsittely
Räjähdysvaara!
Älä heitä paristoja tuleen. Älä lataa paristoja uudelleen.
• Älä koskaan avaa paristoja, älä koskaan juota tai hitsaa
paristoja. Älä koskaan oikosulje paristoja. On olemassa
räjähdyksen ja loukkaantumisen vaara!
• Jos et käytä laitetta pidempään, poista paristo, koska
muutoin paristohappo voi vuotaa.
• Jos paristo on vuotanut, käytä suojakäsineitä välttääksesi
syöpymisvaaran. Puhdista paristokotelo ja paristoliitännät
kuivalla liinalla.
• Korvaa aina paristot saman tyypin paristoilla.
• Paristoja ei saa jättää lasten käsiin. Lapset saattavat
pistää paristot suuhunsa ja niellä ne. Jos paristo on
joutunut nieluun, hakeudu välittömästi lääkärin hoitoon.

Purkaminen pakkauksesta
Poista rakenneilmaisin pakkauksesta. Poista kaikki kuljetus-
varmistimet ja pakkausmateriaalit.
Pariston asettaminen
1. Avaa rakenneilmaisimen taustapuolella oleva paris-
tokotelo 4.
2. Työnnä 9 V:n neppariparisto liittimiin. Varmista oikea
napaisuus.
3. Paina 9 V:n paristo paristokoteloon 4.

Huomio:
Varmista, etteivät johdot jää puristuksiin. Se vaurioittaa laitteen
korjauskelvottomaksi.
4. Sulje paristokotelo 4. Paristokotelon kannen täytyy
lukittua kuuluvasti paikalleen.
Käyttöesimerkkejä
Ohjeita:
• Käyttöesimerkeissä laite esitetään vaakasuorassa seinää
kohti. Voit kuitenkin käyttää laitetta myös pystysuorassa
seinää kohti!
• Testaa laite ennen käyttöä etsimällä tiedossasi olevan palkin
tai onton tilan.
• Kysy epäselvissä tapauksissa aina neuvoa pätevältä raken-
nusalan ammattilaiselta.

Palkkien ja onttojen tilojen havaitseminen
Huomio!
Ennen kuin esim. poraat reiän seinään, varmista, ettei pinnan
alla sijaitse myös vaihtovirtaa johtavaa johtoa. Suorita siksi
metallin jäljittämisen jälkeen aina myös sähköjohtojen jäljitys!
Ohjeita:
Jotta ilmaisin havaitsisi sähköjohdon, johdon on myös johdet-
tava sähköä. Jos haluat esim. seurata johdon kulkua valokat-
kaisijasta valaisimeen, kytke valaisin päälle.
1. Paina ON/OFF-painiketta 5kytkeäksesi laitteen päälle.
2. Paina toimintokytkintä 3toistuvasti, kunnes näyttöön 2
ilmestyy nuoli yhden seuraavien havaintokohteiden
päälle:
STUD (palkin havaitseminen)
METAL (metallikohteiden havaitseminen)
DEEP (onton tilan havaitseminen)
AC (sähköjohtojen havaitseminen)
3. Pidä ilmaisinta alapuoli tasaisesti tutkittavalla pinnalla ja
pidä PUSH-painiketta 6painettuna (kuuluu useampia
lyhyitä merkkiääniä).
4. Työnnä nyt ilmaisinta tässä asennossa hitaasti seinää
pitkin.
5. Jos mittauspään 1lähettyvillä on vastaava kohde,
näyttöön 2ilmestyy ensin vähän ja sitten enemmän
palkkeja.
• Mitä lähempänä kohdetta mittauspää 1on, sitä
enemmän palkkeja näytössä 2näkyy.
• Kun kuuluu jatkuva merkkiääni, kohde sijaitsee suoraan
ilmaisimen mittauspään 1alla. Lisäksi näytössä 2
näkyy nuoli.
6. Liikuta ilmaisinta nyt edelleen pinnalla, kunnes palkit jälleen
vähenevät ja merkkiääni lakkaa. Näin voit selvittää kohteen
tarkan sijainnin ja asennon.

Paristonäyttö
Näyttöön 2ilmestyy paristosymboli, kun pariston lataus heik-
kenee. Vaihda paristo mahdollisimman nopeasti uuteen (katso
luku "Pariston asettaminen").
Muutoin mittaustulokset vääristyvät.
Automaattinen sammutus
Jos mitään painiketta ei paineta n. 60 sekuntiin, laite sammuu
automaattisesti.
Säilytys ja puhdistaminen
• Säilytä laitetta kuivassa tilassa pakkaselta suojattuna.
• Jos et käytä laitetta pidempään aikaan, poista paristo
paristokotelosta.
• Puhdista laite kuivalla, pehmeällä liinalla.
• Älä käytä kemiallisia tai hankaavia puhdistusaineita.
Ne voivat vaurioittaa laitteen koteloa.
Hävittäminen
Älä missään tapauksessa heitä laitetta taval-
lisen talousjätteen sekaan. Tämä tuote on
eurooppalaisen direktiivin 2002/96/EC
mukainen.
Hävitä laite hyväksytyn jätteenhuoltoyrityksen tai kunnallisen
jätehuollon kautta.
Noudata voimassa olevia määräyksiä. Ota epäselvissä
tilanteissa yhteyttä paikalliseen jätehuoltoviranomaiseen.
Paristojen/akkujen hävittäminen
Paristoja/akkuja ei saa hävittää kotitalousjätteiden seassa.
Jokaisella käyttäjällä on lakisääteinen velvollisuus luovuttaa
paristot/akut kuntansa/kaupunginosansa tai kaupan keräily-
pisteeseen.
Tämän velvoitteen tarkoituksena on varmistaa paristojen ja
akkujen ympäristöystävällinen hävittäminen. Palauta paris-
tot/akut ainoastaan purkautuneina.
Hävitä kaikki pakkausmateriaalit ympäristöys-
tävällisesti.
