The safety instructions and the user manual should be
read through carefully before using the product.
SAFETY INSTRUCTION:
1. Keep the instrument dry.
2. Keep the probe clean.
3. Keep the instrument and battery out of reach of infants and
children.
4. Some factors (such as material type and temperature can affect
moisture measurement result, and may make it necessary to
correct the displayed value. Don’t use the instrument in the case
of inspections or for reference purposes.
5. When the symbol” “appears,the batteries are low and
should be replaced.
Ensure that battery polarity connections are correct when
replacing batteries.
If you are not using the instrument for a long time, remove the
battery.

FUNCTION
This instrument can be used to detect and evaluate the moisture
level in sawn timber (also paper, cardboard) and hardened
materials(mortar, concrete and plaster). It displays the moisture
level directly. In addition, the device can be set up to measure the
ambient temperature.

4. TO MEASURE THE MOISTURE
Make sure there are no power lines (wires, water pipes, etc.) and
metal surfaces at the location to be tested. Insert the electrode into
the material as much as possible, but never use excessive or
sudden impact forces as this may damage the device. Read the
value of moisture on the LCD. Always pull the device out of the
material with a left/right twisting action when testing is finished.
5. TO MEASURE THE TEMPERATURE
Switch the device to ºC or ºF mode, and read the ambient
temperature value on the LCD.
After the instrument is turned on,pressing the button
turns on the backlight. About 3 seconds later, the backlight
turns off automatically.
The device starts with the last selected measurement mode.
To select a mode, press and hold the Settings button for
3 seconds then wait until symbol stops flashing.

The batteries must not be disposed with household waste. Care for
the environment and take them to the collection points provided in
accordance with national or local regulations.

with the national regulations in force in your country.

WARRANTY
The Instrument PMX-42A has a two-year warranty.
For further information on this, contact your dealer.
This warranty is void if product is used for commercial purposes.
This warranty is not transferable and does not cover products
damaged by misuse, neglect, accident, alterations or use and
maintenance other than that specified in the owner's manual. This
warranty does not apply to any expendable parts that can wear
from normal use. This warranty excludes any accessories.
PROHIBITED USE
• Using the product without instruction
• Using outside the stated limits
• Deactivation of safety systems and removal of explanatory and
hazard labels
• Opening of the equipment by using tools (screwdrivers, etc.)
• Carrying out modification or conversion of the product
• Use of accessories from other manufacturers without express
approval
LIMITS OF USE

Never attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of damage,
contact a local dealer.
Refer to section "Technical data".The device is designed for
use in areas ently habitable by humans. Do not use the product
in explosion hazardous areas or in aggressive environments.

NOTICE ABOUT PRODUCT CARE
This product is a precision instrument which must be handled with
care. Do not subject the device to jolts or vibrations. Clean with a
soft cloth and glass cleaner. Transport and storage in original case
if included in the scope of delivery.
