Do not use the product in explosion hazardous areas or in
aggressive environments.
FUNCTION
The measuring instrument is used to measure illuminance
in workplaces, offices, public buildings and in industry. The
integrated photo diode determines the illuminance in lux
and foot-candle. With the corresponding function, it is
possible to carry out comparison and reference
measurements as well as peak measurements for
registering quick changes in light levels.

Over range: if the instrument only display one “OL” in
the LCD, the input signal is too strong, and a higher
range should be selected.

The MAX/MIN function is used to display the highest and
lowest measured values during the measurement.
Press “LIGHT” button to switch on the backlight function
while the environment is dark.

BATTERY CHECK-UP & REPLACEMENT:
MAINTENANCE:
After turning on the device, press the "REL" button to
activate the relative measurement. The last displayed value
will be set to the reference value, which now shows the
difference from the set reference value. Relative
measurements can be made either within the automatic
measurement range or within the manual measurement
range. Press the "REL" button again to deactivate this
feature.
Press the “HOLD” key to lock display value, and the “H”
sign will appear on the display, press it again to exit.
1. After turning off the meter, press the battery cover and
push in the direction of the arrow to open.
2. Disconnect the batteries from the instrument and replace
it with a standard 9-volt transistor battery and go for the
cover.
1. The white plastic disc on the top of the detector should
be cleaned with a damp cloth when necessary.
2. Do not store the instrument where temperature or
humidity is excessively high.
3. The reference level, as marker on the face plate, is the
tip of the photo detector globe.
4. The calibration interval for the photo detector will vary
according to operational conditions, but generally the
sensitivity decreases in direct proportion to the product of
luminous intensity by the operational time. In order to
maintain the basic accuracy of the instrument, periodic
calibration is recommended.
a.Illuminance unit: The measured values can be
displayed in Lux and FC (foot-candles) by pressing
“LUX/△” and “Fc/▽”, respectively.
b.Temperature unit: Switch the device to ºC or ºF mode,
and read the ambient temperature value on the LCD.

The Instrument PXX-400 has a two-year warranty. For
further information on this, contact your dealer.This
warranty is void if product is used for commercial purposes.
This warranty is not transferable and does not cover
products damaged by misuse, neglect, accident, alterations
or use and maintenance other than that specified in the
owner's manual. This warranty does not apply to any
expendable parts that can wear from normal use. This
warranty excludes any accessories.
