Welcome to ActivBoard 078

ank you for purchasing an ActivBoard from Promethean. We recommend using your ActivBoard with our
latest software solutions:
• ActivInspire - Fully featured software that combines the best of our award-winning programs in one
package, delivering the best software for education technology integration.
Part of the ActivClassroom, your ActivBoard along with ActivInspire software, was designed to be an
innovative and integrated whole group learning environment which encourages active student participation
in lessons.
Acquire thousands of great lessons, resources and teaching ideas from our free online community,
Promethean Planet. While you’re there, enroll in one of our ActivLearning courses. Just create a user account
and you will have access to a wealth of teaching resources and courses that will help you achieve your
teaching and learning goals.
For more detailed information on installing and using ActivInspire please refer to the links at the end of this
User Guide.

e ActivBoard  is USB powered therefore does not require an external Power Supply Unit.
If the ActivBoard is suspected to be faulty or damaged contact Promethean or an authorised Promethean
service agent for advice.
Caution: is product MUST be mounted to a building structure before use.
e installation work should be performed by a qualified installer. Attempting to install the
product without the relevent experience is done so at your own risk.
Incorrect or incomplete installation could result in personal injury, property damage or
product failure.
e weight of the ActivBoard and strength of the wall mounting is required to be
confirmed before installation.
If you choose to use USB extension cables, our advice is that you use self powered USB extension cables,
which boost the USB signal at least every  metres.
Please note, if you decide to use USB extensions, and you are experiencing issues with connectivity to your
board, the first port of call is to remove these cables, and use the original cable supplied with the board. If
the board then functions correctly, the issue with connectivity is being caused by the extension cables in use –
this may be due to a fault with these cables, or poor quality.

All Promethean ActivBoards are labelled with a Product Code and Hardware Serial Number.
e label can be found positioned on the top left hand side of the ActivBoard.

Also supplied with the ActivBoard  is an ActivPen holder. e ActivPen holder is designed to be
attached to the left hand side of the ActivBoard (front facing).

When using an ActivBoard, you may need to re-calibrate if the whiteboard or projector have been moved for
any reason. Calibration aligns the tip of the ActivPen on the screen.

Start with both the ActivBoard and the computer switched on, hold the ActivPen lightly on the ActivBoard,
without pushing in the nib of the ActivPen. e cursor on the ActivBoard should line up with the tip of the
ActivPen. If it does not, you need to calibrate the ActivBoard.
On your computer screen:
. Click on the ActivManager icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and select Calibrate
(Figure )
. When the calibration program starts, move to the board and follow the instructions on the screen.

After calibrating, check that the tip of your ActivPen lines up with the cursor on the ActivBoard. If it does
not, reset the board by switching it off for thirty seconds
Switch on again and try to calibrate the board again. If the board will not calibrate contact Promethean
Technical Support.

If you have a DVD with your ActivBoard , insert this into your computer and follow the on-screen
instructions to install your ActivInspire software.
If the DVD does not Auto-run then locate the DVD files using Windows Explorer (Windows) or Finder
(MAC). e DVD drive is usually the “(D:)” drive.
Find the file “setup.exe” and double click it to launch the install process.
If you do not have a DVD then please access the ActivInspire page on Promethean Planet.
All information on installing and using ActivInspire can be found by referring to the links at the end of this
user guide.

在开启 ActivBoard 与计算机后，在 ActivBoard 上轻轻按下 ActivPen，不得使 ActivPen 的笔尖缩
进去。ActivBoard 上的光标应与 ActivPen 笔尖对齐。如果两者不对齐，则表示您需要校准 ActivBoard。
在计算机屏幕上：
1. 点击屏幕右下角的 ActivManager 图标并选择校准（图 ）
2. 在校准程序启动后，移动到白板上，并依屏幕提示操作（图 ）
校准后，检查 ActivPen 笔尖与 ActivBoard 上的光标是否对齐。如果两者不对齐，请将白板关闭  秒钟，以此来
重设白板。
再次打开白板并尝试校准。如果白板无法校准，请联系 Promethean 技术支持小组。
