For audio r ecord ing on the computer. The mono
inpu t channel all ows t o conne ct a (phantom-
pow e red ) mi crop h one ; the st ere o i np ut ch annel
allows to connec t an audio so urce with lin e signal
lev e l. In ad di tion , t he m ixer is provided wi th
co nnectio ns for a reco rd er an d headph on es. Th e
mix e d signal is sent to the out put via a 3.5 mm
jack and the USB port. It is als o possible t o use
the USB port as an input to tr ansfer audio data
from the compute r to the mixer. When con necting
the mixer to a computer, power is supplied via the
USB connection. When operating the mix e r
with out a compu ter, either us e a suitable p ower
su pply unit wit h U SB connect ion or o per at e the
mix e r via the inte grated rech ar geable lithiumion
batt ery. The batte ry is charge d when the mixer is
con nected to the power supp ly via the USB port.
This unit corr esponds to all re levant di rec tives of
the EU and is the refore marked with .

Prio r to connecti on, always turn back the output
co ntrols MONI TO R / PHONES (10) and M ASTER
(14) to 0 .
1) The input MIC IN (1) of the mono chann el CH 1
allows to conn ect a microp hone via XLR plug or
6. 3 mm plug. Both the XLR jack and the 6.3 mm
jack of the com bined jack a re balanced.
The XLR jack always supplies a 18 V p hantom
pow er and it thus suitable for a condenser
mic r ophone oper ated with th i s phantom p ower.

2) The input LINE IN (2) of the stereo channel CH
2 allows to con nect an audio source with line
si g na l lev el ( e. g . C D playe r) v ia RCA p l ug s: L =
le ft ch annel , R = rig ht chan ne l.
3) It is poss ible to use the RCA jacks TAPE IN (3)
and OUT (4) to connect a s tereo record er:
-- Co nnect t he rec ord ing outp ut o f the reco rd er to
the input TAPE IN.
-- Co nnect the re c ording input of the recor der to
th e out put TAP E O UT ;the o ut put si gnal a dj u-
sted with the MASTER control (14) is sent to this
outp ut.
How ever, it is also possible to use the jack s for
othe r units with l ine signal lev el, e. g. to co nnect a
CD player or MP3 player to TA PE IN or to connect
an amplifier to TAPE OUT.
4) The 3.5 mm ja ck MONITOR / PHONES (9)
a llows t o conn ect st ereo h ea dp hon es
(i mpedance 16 ).
Thus, you will be able to m onitor the ou tput
s ignal a djus te d with the co ntrol M ASTE R ( 14)
o r the i nput s ignal of the j a cks TAPE IN (3) via
h ea dph ones.
5) At the stereo o utput MAIN OUT (7), the output
si gnal adjuste d with the MA STER contr ol (14)
is present. Thi s output allows to c onnec t e. G.
an amplifier or a second mix er via 3.5 mm plug.
6) When operating the mixer with a compu ter, it is
possible to use the USB po rt (5) for digi tal
output of the m ixed signal to the compu ter and
fo r feeding dig ital audio da ta to the mixer. To
C onnect the port see chap ter 5.1.

5 Setting the Mixer into Operation
5.1 Op er ation w ith a compu te r
Note:
When op erating the m ixer with a c omputer, eit her
use the a udio softwar e supplied w ith the
oper atin g s ystem o r a n a udi o s oft w are i nsta lle d
addi tiona lly.
Vario us p ro grams fo r a udio r epro d uc tion /
reco rd in g are a vailab le o n t he I nte r ne t free of
charge.
1) Start t he computer. Connect the USB port (5 ) to
a USB connection on the computer via the U SB
cable provided. Switch on the m ixer with th e
sw it ch POWE R (8 ) [p osi tion O N ]. Th e L ED
ON/CH ARGE (6) lights up according to the
battery charge sta tus (chapter 5.3).
The computer rec ognizes the USB interface
of the mixer as an e xternal device for audio
input and audio output, e. g. as USB Ear-
Microphone , depending on the operating
sy stem. Therequir ed drivers (s tandard drivers
of the operating sy stem) are av ailable on th e
Comp ute r.
If not all driv ers required are availabl e
on the computer, i nstall them, e . g. via the
ori gin al C D of the o per ati ng sys tem. Res tar t
the co mput er afte r ins tal lati on , if n ece ssary.
2) Open the reproduc tion / recordi ng program and
make the required settings for audio reprod uc-
tion vi a the mixer or audio recording from the
mixer ( user manu al of the prog ram). T hen
opera te the mixer a ccording to chapter 6.
If it is no t possible to record or reproduce any
sound, m ake sure to activate the U SB interface
for audio input or aud io output in thesystem
settings of the operat ing system of thecompute r.
If t h e mixer is co nnected to a co mpute r a nd
to any units earthed via their mains cables (e. g.
amplifier s), there ma y be hum nois e due to
ground l o op s. To el im inat e this no ise , co nn ect th e
mixer to t he correspo nding uni t via a ground
isolator

5.2 Operation with power su pply u nit
5.3 C hargi ng the batte ry / B attery
oper at ion
Via its USB connection, the power supply unit
must pr ov ide an outpu t voltage of 5 V and an
output cu rrent of 500m A. Connect the power
supply un it to the USB port (5) via t he USB cabl e
provided, then connect it to a mains socket.
Switch on the mixer with the switch POWER (8)
[position ON ]. The LED
ON / CHARGE (6) ligh ts up according to the
battery ch a rge status ( chapter 5.3 ).
To ensure the maximu m operating time (approx .
4 hours) when the mix er is operate d via the
integrated rechargeab le lithium-io n battery, full y
ch ar ge th e ba ttery p rio r to o per at io n. Co nnect t h e
USB p ort ( 5) t o a com p uter (c ha pte r 5.1 ) or to a
power s up ply u ni t (ch a pte r 5.2 ). Th e LED ON /
CHARGE (6) shows th e ch arge sta tu s a nd
operating mode:
1. With th e mixer switched off [swit ch POWER ( 8)
se t t o OFF ], the LED ON / CH ARGE s how s
green while the batt ery is being charged. Whe n
the batt ery has been fully charge d, the LED is
ext in gu is hed.
2. With th e mixer switched on [swit ch POWER set
to ON ], the LED ON / CHARGE shows red
and gre en (= yellow ) at the same time while
the bat tery is being charged. W hen the batte ry
has be en fully char ged, the LED shows red.
To save battery power, the LED ON / CHARGE
doesnot li ght up during battery ope ration.
Th erefo re , you m ay e asily forg et to swi tch off th e
mixer. To prevent the b attery from being
co mple te l y disch arge d, always ma ke s ure t o se t
the switch POWER to OFF after operation.

6 Operation
1) Switch on the mixer with the switch P OWER (8)
[position ON ].
2) For basic s etting, set th e controls M ASTER
(14) and G AIN (15) app roximately to mid-
position for the time bei ng.
3) When a microphone is c onnected to the jack
MIC IN (1), speak into th e microphon e and
turn up the correspondi ng control LE VEL (17)
until you ob tain a good microphone s ignal. If
you need to turn up the control LEVE L
completely for this purp ose, further t urn up the
control GA IN (15). However, if the LE D PK (19)
lig hts up an d is n ot e xtin g ui shed imm ediately,
turn back th e control GA IN. The LED PK mus t
only briefly l ight up with level peaks.
7) Use the controls LEVEL (17, 21) to m ix the
input signa l s of channel s CH 1 and CH 2 or to
fade them in and out. Wh en a channe l is not
used, set its control to 0 .
8) Use the control MASTER (14) to set the level
of the outp ut signal that is sent via th e jacks
MAIN OUT (7), TAPE OUT (4) and th e USB
port (5). If o ne of the ov erload LEDs CLIP (13)
shows red, tur n back th e control MA STER

\4) Use the panorama con trol PAN (18) to place
the microp hone signal on the stereo base.
Adjust the sound with t he controls H I and LO
(16).
5) Turn up the control LEVEL (21) for ch annel CH
2 until you obtain a goo d input signa l.
To assign the input signal of the USB port (5)
to channel CH 2, press the button USB
ASSIGN TO CH 2 (23). When the but ton is
engaged, th e USB input signal and the signal
of the input L INE IN (2) u se the same channel.
Therefore, d o not use the input LINE IN if you
intend to reproduce onl y the USB inp ut signal
Via channel CH 2.
When r ec ordin g v ia th e USB po rt , please
pay attentio n to the risk o f feedback if you
assign the recording sig nal of the computer to
ch anne l CH 2 a s an i npu t s ignal.
6) For channe l CH 2, adjust the sound with the
controls HI and LO (20) and the bala nce with
the control BAL (22) .
Note:
9) The head phone outpu t MO NITOR / PHONES
(9) allows to monitor the output signa l of the mixe r.
For this pur pose, the but ton TAPE IN ASSIGN TO
MONITOR ( 12) must not be engaged. Adjust the
headphone volume with the control M ONITOR /
PHO NES (1 0) .
10) When a unit is connected to the j acks TAPE
IN (3), it is p ossible to monitor the out put signal of
this unit:
1. If the butt on TAPE IN ASSIGN TO MAIN (11) is
engaged: via the outputs MAIN OUT (7), TAPE
OUT (4), USB (5) and MONITOR / PHONES (9)
. The output signal of th e mixer is als o present at
these jacks. Therefore , set the two controls
LEVEL (1 7, 21) to 0 if necessary.
2. If the butt on TAPE IN ASSIGN TO MONITOR
(12) is en gaged: only via the headphone output
MONITOR / PHONES. In this case, it is not
possible to monitor the output sign al of the
Mixer via the headpho ne output.

WARNI NG! Never adjus t the headph ones to a
ve ry high v o lume. Per ma ne nt high vo lum es m ay
damage you r hearing! Your ear will ge t
accustomed to high volu mes which d o not seem
to be that high after some time. Therefore, do not
further increase a high v olume after getting used
to it.
