1. Safety Precautions
Reminding
1) Itis very important and necessary to read theuser manual carefully (inthe accessories)
before installing or using battery. Failure to do so or to follow any of the instructions or
warnings in this document can result in electrical shock, serious injury, or death, or can
damage battery, potentially rendering itinoperable.
2) If the bat tery i s stored for l ong time, i t i s requi red to charge them every six months, and the
SOC shou ld be no less than 90%;
3) Battery needsto berechargedwithin 12 hours, after fullydischarged;
4) Do not expose cableoutside;
5) All the battery terminals must be disconnected formaintenance;
6) Please contact the supplierwithin24hours if there issomethingabnormal.
7) Do not usecleaningsolvents to clean battery;
8) Do not expose battery to flammable or harsh chemicals or vapors;
9) Donotpaintany part of battery,include any internalor external components;

& Warning
1.1 Before Connecting
1) After unpacking, please check product and packing list first, if product isdamaged or
lack of parts, please contact with the localretailer;
2) Before installation, be sure to cut off the grid power and make sure the battery isin the
turned-off mode;
3) Wiring must be correct, do not mistake the positive and negative cables, and ensureno
short circuit with the externaldevice;
4) It is prohibited to connect the battery and AC powerdirectly;
5) The embedded BMS in the battery isdesigned for 24VDC, please DO NOT connect
battery inseries;
6) Battery system must be wellgrounded and the resistance must be lessthan 1 O;
7) Please ensured the electrical parameters of battery system are compatible to related

equipment;
8) Keep the battery away from water and fire.
1.2 In Using
1) If the battery system needs to be moved or repaired, the power must be cut off and the
battery is completelyshutdown;
2) Itis prohibitedto connect the batterywith different type of battery.
3) It isprohibited to put the batteries working with faulty or incompatibleinverter;
4) It isprohibited to disassemble the battery (QC tab removed or damaged);
5) In case of fire, only dry powder fire extinguisher can be used, liquid fire extinguishersare
prohibited;
6) Please do not open, repair or disassemble the battery except staffs from Pylontech or
authorized by Pylontech. We do not undertake any consequences or related
responsibility which because of violation of safety operation or violating of design,
production and equipment safetystandards.

2. Introduction
UP2500 li thi um i ron phosphate battery i s one of new energy storage p roducts deve l oped and
produced by Pylontech, i t can be used to support re l iab le power for various types of equi pments
and sys t ems. UP2500 is especially sui tab l e for appl i cati on scene of hi gh power, li mi t ed i nstallation
space, restri cted load-beari ng and l ong cyc l e l ife.
UP2500 has built-in BMS battery management system, which can manage and monitor cells
information including voltage, current and temperature. What's more, BMS can balance cells
chargingand discharging to extend cycle life.
Multiple batteries can connect in parallel to expand capacity and power in parallel for larger
capacityandlongerpowersupportingdurationrequirements.
2.1 features:

» Cathode material is made from LiFeP04 with safety performance and long cycle life;
» Battery management system (BMS)has protection functions including over-
discharge, over-charge, over-current and high/low temperature;
» The system can automatically manage charge and discharge state and balance current
and voltage of each cell;
» Flexible configuration, multiple battery modules can be inparallel for expanding capacity
and power
» Adopted self-coolingmoderapidlyreducedsystem entirenoise;
The module has less self-discharge, up to 6 months without charging it on shelf, no memory
effect, excellent performance of shallow charge and discharge;
»
Working temperature range is from -10°C to 55°C, (Charging 0-55°C; discharging -10-55°C)
with excellent discharge performance and cycle life;
» Small size and light weight, standard of 19-inch embedded designed module is comfortable
for installation and maintenance;

Power Switch
Power Switch: to turn ON/ OFF ON: the battery standby, no power output.

SOC light: 4 green LED to show the battery's current capacity.
Alarm
Alarm light:YELLOW LED falshingor lightingtoshow the battery has alarm. Combinewith SOC
LEDs to showwhichkind of alarm. Please check table ' LED Instructions'
Protection
Protection light: RED LED to show the battery is under BMS protection.CombinewithSOC LEDs

Start
Start Button: press more than 2sec to Start/Off the battery module.
ADD Switch
ADD Switch: 4 ADD switches. Dipl to definite different baud rate
"OXXX" setup the bondrate 115200, and "1 XXX" setup the baudrate
9600. The setting will be active only after restart thebattery.
Every battery module needs to change the dip switch to set the RS485
baud rate.

Console
Console Communication Terminal: (RJ ll port) follow RS232 protocol, for manufacturer or
professional engineer to debug or service.
L0/1 I RS485
Link Port0/1 or RS485Communication port follow RS485 protocol, for communication between
master batter and host equipment. It connect all batteries as a group.

* Do not touch the leaking liquid.

* The product Ingress Protection (IP) class is IP20.
* Make sure the grounding connection set correctly before operation.
* Follow the product manual to make wiring connection.
* Ifleaking, fire, wet or damaged, switch off the breaker on DC side and

4.2 Installation Location

Installation
A. Put battery modul es i nto cabi net and connect the cables:

(1) Put the battery into thecabinet;
(2) Drive the 4 pcs screws;
(3) Connect the cables between battery modules. If use

B. Power On
Double check all the power cable and communication cable.
( 1 ) Switch poweron
Switch on all the battery modules:
(2) The o n e w i t h empty LO is the Master Battery Module, others are s l aves ( 1 master battery
confi gure with maximum 1 9 slave batteri es) . And then from Maste r Battery Module ' s RS485 to
inverter:
(3) PresstheStartButton (redbutton)ofmasterbattery topoweron,allthebatteryLEDlightwill
be on one by one from the Masterbattery.
