Dear Parents, Congratulations! In line with our motto
“Because your child is worth it" you have chosen a
high-grade quality product from RECARO. For us,
outstanding safety, best ergonomics, state-of-the-
art design, comfort and highest quality are obligatory.
For example, at RECARO, all child seats are treated
like car seats and are tested in accordance with the
strict requirements of the automotive industry. The
RECARO Child Safety Competence Centre wishes
you a safe journey at all times!
Child Restraint System Monza for ECE Groups II+III; for
children between 3 and 12 years of age, weighing
30 – 80 lb (15 – 36 kg). Tested according to ECE
44/04, Approval No. 04301220
To activate the reclining position, swivel the bracket
from position 1 to position 2. The seat in the vehicle
will need to be pulled slightly forwards to enable this
position. When in use, Seatfix connectors need to be
additionally extended.
Attention! In the seated position, the complete back
must be placed against the car seat; in the reclining
position, the spacer bracket must be in contact with
the car seat.
The socket for connecting a standard MP3/CD player
is located here. (Fig. 3)
To prevent hearing damage, your child should not
listen to loud music for a prolonged period of time.

Now inflate the adjustable air cushion to the standard
“full” condition for optimum safety (15-20 actuations).
The cable to the sound system can be easily placed
under the cushion. The opening for this is located
next to the pocket for your MP3/CD player.
Attention! Avoid loops! Store any excess length in the
pocket.
By pressing the outlet valve, it is possible to activate
the reclining position for the head at any time. Slight
pressure on the upholstery accelerates the deflating
process.

Installation with Seatfix
Attention! To secure your child, always use the 3-point
safety belt of the vehicle! The Seatfix system improves
the level of protection in the event of a side impact,
and secures the seat when it is not in use.
Insert the insertion aids through the upholstery slot of
the backrest and seat area onto the Isofix brackets.
This is not necessary where insertion aids have already
been firmly installed. Ensure that the open side area
is facing upwards.
For fitment in your vehicle, the Seatfix connectors (A)
must be extended. This works by pushing the locking
lever on the underside.
Engage the Seatfix connectors (A) in the Isofix
brackets; the green marking on the connector must
be visible. Check the interlock by pulling on both
sides of the seat area.
Improved safety is achieved by an upright setting.

Adjusting the seat
The size of the seat can be adjusted by pulling the
extended lever behind the headrest upwards.
The child size graduation on the side provides an
initial estimate for the correct setting of the headrest.
Note!
In the event of an impact at more than 6 mph (10
km/h), the child seat may be damaged and must
be replaced and checked in the factory. The possible
release of the connectors is intentional and increases
the level of safety.
Strapping your child into the seat
Attention! Never twist the belt!
Place the lap belt of the 3-point safety belt in the
belt guides and close the lock.
Ensure that it locks with an audible click.

Subsequently insert the diagonal belt in the belt guide
on the headrest.
The belt lock must be seated below the belt guide
of the seat.
The lap belt must be placed as low as possible above
the groin of the child.
The belt may only be guided towards the back!
Where necessary, only use the child seat on the
backseat.

The belt guide should be set slightly above the
shoulder. Your child will then be properly secured by
the seatbelt.
The optimum location of the belt is along the centre
of the collarbone (Fig. 16) and not too close to the
neck of your child.
Removal of the Seatfix
To release, pull the slides on the sides forwards.

To remove the seat cover, initially release all the
elastic and buttonhole connections.
The reinforcing ribs on the sides improve the safety
of your child in the event of a side impact and permit
comfortable ventilation along the complete backrest.
Pull the lower plastic strips out from the pertinent slots.
Pull the cover starting from the outside over the belt
guides. These must not be removed for this.

Pull the seat cushion off towards the front. Proceed
in the same manner with the backrest and headrest.
To reattach the cover, proceed in the reverse order.
• The child seat is only intended for use in
approved vehicles that are equipped
with 3-point safety belts, which are appro-
ved according to UN ECE Regulation No.
16 or some other comparable standards.
•The child seat should always be installed
according to the instructions, even when
it is not in use. In the event of emergency
braking, a loose seat can injure the other
occupants of the car.
• Install the child seat in the car so that it
is not clamped by the front seats or by
the car doors.
•The child seat must not be altered and
the fitting and operating instructions must
be carefully complied with, otherwise
your child may not be properly protected
from danger during a journey.
•The belts must not be twisted or clamped
and must be tightened. After an
accident, the child seat must be replaced
and checked in the factory.
•Bulky clothing must be removed before
you strap your child in.
•Ensure that luggage and other objects
are properly secured, in particular on the
parcel shelf, since loose objects can
cause injuries in the event of an impact.
•Be a good example and always use your
seat belt. An adult who does not use a
seat belt can be a danger for the child.
•Note: Only original accessories,
respectively spare parts may be used.
•Never leave your child unattended.
• Always use the safety belt for your child.
• Protect the child seat from direct sunlight
so as to prevent your child from being
burnt or the cover being bleached.
• Never use the child seat without the
cover. The seat cover must not be
replaced by a cover that is not
recommended by the manufacturer,
since this cover is an integral part of the
safety system.
