Safety
Do not directly view or direct the laser pointer
towards an eye. Low power visible lasers do
not normally present a hazard, but may present
some potential for hazard if viewed directly
for extended periods of time.

Infrared Measurements
Taking Measurements
Point the meter toward the object being measured, then press and hold
the MEASURE button. The meter will turn ON and take a reading. Read
the measured temperature on the LCD. The meter turns off automatically
approximately 8 seconds after the MEASURE button is released.
Pressing the MAX button will hold the highest reading. The object being
measured should be larger than the spot size as illustrated in the "Dis-
tance to Target" graph below.

Measurement considerations
If the surface of an object to be measured is covered with frost, dust or
other materials, surface cleaning must be performed before accurate
measurements can be made. High Reective Surfaces: If the surface of an
object to be measured is highly reective, apply masking tape or apply at
black paint to the surface since black paint has a xed emissivity value.
Displaying °F or °C
Open the battery compartment, move the slide switch located in the
opening beneath the outermost battery.
Battery Replacement
1. When the left corner of the LCD display shows LO BAT “ ”,
it indicates the battery output has weakened. Replacement of the
batteries is now needed.
2. Open the Battery Cover (#7 in gure on page 4) at the back of meter
and remove the battery.
3. Replace with AAA batteries and reinstall the cover.
