Product Overview
This section of the manual provides an overview of Web HMI series products, its front and back view,
installation details, dimensional details, mounting method and details.
This section contains the following topics:
Installation of the Web HMI Products
Device Connectivity
4.1 Installation of the Web HMI Products
Web HMI series products are designed for front panel mounting. Before installing the
products, the user should review, the panel guidelines, panel cutout dimensions, product
dimensions and minimum clearances.
4.1.1 Panel Guidelines
The panel must be at least 2mm (12 gauge), in order to provide the required support and
proper sealing against water and dust. The panel surface must be flat, devoid of any
imperfection, to maintain an adequate seal and IP rating. The maximum panel thickness
on which this HMI can be mounted is 6mm (±0.2mm).

4.1.4 Minimum Clearances
Maintain a minimum clearance of 2” from enclosure walls, wires and other adjacent devices
on all sides for adequate ventilation. Plan for adequate space around the product and
inside the enclosure for ventilation and cabling. Take into consideration the heat produced
by other devices in the enclosure. The operating temperature for this product is between
0° to 50°C. Care should be taken in-order to maintain the ambient temperature around the
Web HMI within this range.
4.1.5 Mounting Web HMI Products
Web HMI series products must be installed on the front panel, using the clamp accessories
shipped with the product. Before mounting, make sure that the sealing gasket is properly
positioned. This gasket forms a compression type of seal. Do not use sealing compounds.
Place the unit in the panel cutout and tighten the mounting screws evenly (torque 0.4Nm)
to maintain water and dust resistance.
Mounting Web HMI on Panel
Do not push directly on the LCD display of the HMI when placing the
unit into the panel as it may damage the display. Push on the bezel or
the border of the LCD display.
4.1.6 Connecting Power
Web HMI series requires 24VDC to operate. Follow the steps mentioned below to connect a
power supply to the device:
Make sure that the terminal is not connected to a power source.
Secure the 24VDC power wires.
Secure the functional earth ground wire to the functional earth ground terminal screw on
the terminal block.
Apply 24VDC power to the terminal.
4.1.7 Grounding
The optimum method for grounding electronic equipment is to ground it separated from
other high-power systems and to ground more than one unit of electronic equipment with
a single-point ground. Following marked terminal is provided with the unit for grounding:
