•When a cooling coil is installed on a model CAUA heater, a burner condensate drain line must be installed. The
burner condensate drain kit (PN 165951) includes all of the parts needed to install the drain line.
•Refer to the installation manual provided with the heater for important safety information.
•Ensure that all components shown in Figure 1 and listed in Table 1 are available before beginning installation.
INSTALLATION
Install the burner condensate drain as follows. Item numbers in parentheses refer to Figure 1.
1. If unit is installed, turn OFF gas and electric power and allow unit to cool.
2. Remove burner compartment door.
NOTE: Depending on the date of manufacture, the burner box cover is in either two sections—top
left and top right extending over the front—or in three sections—top left, top right, and a separate
front cover.

3. Remove burner box cover:
a. If front burner cover IS NOT separate piece, disconnect flame sensor wire and flame rollout switch wires on
left side of burner box cover, disconnect silicone tubing from static tap, and remove top left cover.
b. If front of burner cover IS separate piece, remove front section only.
4. On side of cabinet that is most convenient for drain line, locate and remove hole plug in cabinet and insert snap
bushing (7).
5. Assemble brass nut (3), sealing washer (5), and threaded fitting (2) as shown in Figure 1.
6. Remove plug from hole in bottom center of burner pan and install threaded fitting (2) up through hole so that hose
barb is toward bushing in side of cabinet. Secure fiting using hex locknut (4).
7. Under burner, install tubing (1) onto hose barb on threaded fitting (2). Ensure that tubing is secure.
8. Extend tubing (1) out through cabinet side, maintaining downward slope. Just outside of cabinet, make loop in
hose to create trap. Secure loop using wire ties (6).
9. Continue downward with tubing and connect it into coil drain pipe.
10. Install burner box cover removed in step 3 and burner compartment door removed in step 2.
11. If unit is installed, start up unit in accordance with instructions in installation provided with unit and check for
proper operation.
