Sortplandefinesinwhichboxshipmentsaresorted.Sortplansarecreatedandmaintainedinthe
administrationtoolinthewebinterfaceofMailroomAssistant.Sortplansarelistedintheview,
whichisopenedbyclickingtheSortingplan‐button.
Onlysortplans,whichfittotheusedsortingframearedisplayedinthesortplanlist.
Thereisalsoafixedsortplan“Registration”whichdoesnotassistinsortingbutonlyregistersthe
shipments.WithRegistrarOCRthisistypicallytheonlyoption.
Thewantedsortplanisselectedbyclickingit.Thenthenameoftheselectedplanisindicatednext
totheSortingplan‐button.

5.4Gettingpropermatches
Theorientationoftheshipmentdoesnotmattertothematching.TheOCRcanreadupsidedown
orsidewaystext.Butsometimes,especiallywhenthereisasmallfont,itisgoodtostraightenthe
shipmentuptomakeiteasierfortheOCR.Manytimes,iftheOCRdoesnotmatchonthefirst
time,itisgoodtomoveandstraightentheshipmentabittogetapropermatch.
5.5TouchROI
IftheOCRselectsawrongtextblockontheshipment,theTouchROIfunctionalitycanbeused.
TheTouchROItellstheOCRwhichblockitshouldselectontheshipment.Thewantedareais
selectedsimplybytappingthescreeninthemiddleoftheaddressblock.

Itisalsopossibletodragfromtoplefttobottomrighttodrawarectangle,wheretheOCRlooks
fortheaddress.TypicallythishelpstheOCRwhentherearelinefeedsintheaddress,orthe
addressisprintedtoawideareaontheshipment.
However,normallyitisfasterandthereforerecommendedtojusttaptheaddress.




5.6LockROI
IfthereareseveralsamekindofshipmentsthentheLockROIcanbeusedforalwayslookingfor
theaddressinthesamelocation.Onthefirstshipment,theROIiseitherfoundautomaticallyor
selectedmanually.ThentheLockROIbuttoncanbeclickedtolockthewantedarea.
TheLockROIcanbedisabledbyclickingthelockbuttonagain.

5.7Laserguidance
TheLaserguidancefunctionalityisgoodforshipmentswithlotsoftextonit.Whenlaser
functionalityisenabled,theredlaserstartstopointcertainareainthemiddleoftheweighscale
desk.TheOCRnowlooksfortheaddressonlynexttotheredlaserdotonthedesk.
Thelasercanbeswitchedoffbyclickingthelaserbuttonagain.
6 Registering and sorting of shipments
6.1Indication
WhentheOCRfoundsamatch,theresultisshownontheaddressbox.Atthesametimethe
correctboxontheframeisindicated.

6.2Enrichment
Dependingonthesystemconfiguration,theOCRresultneedstobeenrichedifthereisnotenough
informationintheresult.Enrichmentcanbedoneeithermanuallyusingthebuttonnexttothe
resultortriggeredautomaticallybythesystem.

Dependingonthesystemconfiguration,someofthefieldsintheenrichmentdialogare
mandatory.Mandatoryfieldsaremarkedwithredcolorandtheymustbefilledbeforethedialog
canbeclosed.


6.3Printing
Therecognitionandtheregistrationwiththefoundrecipientdetailsisconfirmedbyremovingthe
shipmentfromthedesk.
Whentheshipmentisremoved,thelabelisprintedandtheshipmentisregisteredontheserver.
Abluenotificationboxappearsonthetopleftcornertoindicatetheregistration.Thenotification
containstheID,weightandtherecipientoftheregisteredshipment.


6.4Undo
Undoing of shipment is possible within a specified time frame from the moment of
registration by the user who has registered the shipment. The undo time is typically from
few seconds to ten minutes. It is configurable on the server by server administrator.
The undoing of registration is done using the trashcan icon in the registration notification
box.
Undoing completely removes the data related to the registered shipment. However,
undoing a registration does not affect to the possible audit trail entry which is created
during the registration.
6.5Redirections
At the OCR station the redirection dialog is opened in redirection cases, so that the
operator can verify that the redirection is correct. The redirection can be accepted by
clicking OK or by simply removing the shipment from the OCR station desk. It is also
possible to enrich the result in redirection dialog.


6.6Multiplematches
IftheOCRfindsmultiplecandidates,themulti‐candidatedialogisopened.Nowtheusercanselect
thecorrectrecipient.Inactive and historical recipients are indicated with gray color. The
