GENERAL SAFETY STANDARDS FOR THE INSTALLATION, USE AND MAINTENANCE
The manufacturer declines all contractual or extra-contractual liability for injury or damage to persons, animals or objects caused by:
incorrect installation or setting; improper, unreasonable or incorrect use; failure to follow the instructions given in the manual supplied with the burner;
operations performed by unauthorised persons.
1 - INSTRUCTION MANUAL
* The instruction manual supplied with the burner is an integral, essential part of the product, from which it must not be separated.
* Read the manual carefully; it contains important information regarding burner installation use and maintenance.
* Keep the manual for future reference.
2 - PACKING
* After removing all packing materials, check the contents to make sure that no damage has occurred during shipping.
When in doubt do not use the burner and contact the supplier.
* Packing materials (wooden crates, cardboard boxes, nails, clips, plastic bags, etc.) may be a source of pollution; collect all materials and dispose of properly.
3 - BURNER AMBIENT
* The burner must be installed in an available ambient where there are some openings in order to have ventilation and to assure a good air flow for combustion.
* To be sure that all comburent air fan air intakes are free and that there aren't obstructions to fan ventilation.
* To be sure that there aren't flammable or explosive substances.
* Burner must be protected by rain, snow or frost, except if it has been planned to work in these atmospheric conditions.
4 - FUELS
* The burner must be stoked with the type of fuel for which it has been preset as indicated on the rating plate and in the Instruction Manual.
* Gas supply pressure to the burner and the burner head must be within the values shown in the manual.
* The gas supply line must be sized in consideration of the maximum delivery of the burner and must be fitted with all safety and control devices prescribed by law.
* Prior to supply fuel to the unit, clean burner pipes thoroughly; install a filter to prevent residues from impairing proper operation.
* Make sure that all internal and external seals on the fuel supply are all right.
* LPG tanks must be positioned in compliance with current regulations.
5 -ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
* Make sure that the electrical power supply used for connection corresponds to the specifications indicated on the rating plate and in the manual.
* Make sure that the burner is connected to an efficient earth system in compliance with current safety standards.
When in doubt, have the electrical system checked thoroughly by a licensed electrician.
Never use gas pipes for earthing electrical installations.
* The electrical system and all cable sections in particular, must be adequate to deliver the maximum absorbed power value indicated on the rating plate
and in the manual.
* For the mains electricity supply to the burner:
- do not use adapters, double adapters or extension cords;
- install a multipolar switch, as specified by current safety standards.
* If the mains power cable is found to be faulty, have it replaced by an authorised technician.
* Never touch the burner with wet parts of the body and or when not wearing shoes.
* Never stretch power supply cables.
* Verify that phase and neutral wire haven’t been inverted.
6 - THE BURNER
The burner must only be used in the applications for which it was designed. All other applications are to be considered inappropriate and dangerous.
Particularly:
- Fuel type and pressure, electricity supply frequency and voltage, minimum and maximum delivery settings, duct counter-pressure, combustion chamber size, ambient
temperature must all be contained within the limits given in the instruction manual.
* Use only original spare parts when equipping the burner with optionals, kits or accessories.
* Do not modify the equipment or alter its performance or applications.
* Do not open or tamper with components other than those subject to maintenance.
* Only parts indicated by the manufacturer may be replaced.
* Never touch the hot parts of the burner; these parts, usually located near the flame, heat up during operation and may remain hot for some time even after
the burner has switched off.
* When the burner is not to be used for a certain period of time, turn off the main power switch controlling all system electrical components and close the
manual valve on burner fuel supply line.
When the burner is no longer required for use, have the following operations carried out by a licensed technician:
- disconnection of the electrical power cable from the main power switch;
- closure of the manual valve on the burner fuel supply line with locking or removal of the command hand wheel.
7 - BURNER INSTALLATION AND SETTING
* Burner installation and setting must be performed exclusively by qualified personnel in conformity with the instructions given in the manual and with current
regulations and safety standards.
* The burner must be secured tightly to the piping in such a way that the flame is generated only inside the duct. Then:
- Set the fuel delivery according to the power required by the burner within the limits listed in the manual.
- Adjust comburent air flow to ensure that burner operation is always in excess-air.
- Check that all safety and adjustment mechanisms work properly.
- Make sure that all mechanical lock fittings on the adjustment mechanisms are secured tightly.
8 - BURNER MALFUNCTION
* If the burner stops working and goes into lock-out and does not resume operation after two or three lock-out reset attempts, contact a qualified technician.
* If the burner breaks down and or malfunctions, disconnect the power supply, do not attempt to repair and contact a qualified technician.
All burner repairs are to be performed exclusively at a technical servicing centre authorised by the manufacturer using original spare parts only.
Failure to observe the above may jeopardise equipment reliability and safety standards.
9 - MAINTENANCE
* Burner maintenance must be performed by qualified personnel regularly or at least once a year according to the information given in the manual.
* Prior to performing any burner maintenance or checking operations, turn off the power supply at the main switch.
10 - GAS LEAKS
* If you smell gas, do not switch on or off any electrical appliances, do not use the telephone or anything else which could generate sparks.
Close the manual gas shut-off cock and contact a qualified servicing technician immediately.
