The Right Weigh 202-DDG-02 digital load scale has two internal air pressure
sensors. This scale will monitor one air suspension single, tandem, or tridem
axle group with two Height Control Valves (HCVs) or two axle groups that have
one HCV each.

The weight of the steer axle can be esmated if this scale is used to monitor
the drive axle group. Refer to the Esmated Steer Mode secon for more
informaon.

CHOOSE MOUNTING LOCATION

The gauge can be mounted in the dash panel either using an exisng factory
gauge hole or by creang one. If this opon is unavailable or not desirable,
Right Weigh has an oponal bracket (202-BR) that can be purchased
separately to mount the gauge. See below for a detailed list of opons for
mounng into the dash:
The 202-DDG-02 scale is designed to be mounted inside the vehicle cabin, it is
not for outdoor use. The following steps will walk you through how to correctly
mount and install the gauge.
Use an available 2 1/16”(52mm) factory
gauge hole.

Remove and replace a factory installed
drive axle air suspension pressure
gauge.

Cut a new hole in the dash panel using a
2 1/16” (52mm) hole saw as shown.

Make sure to check behind the dash
panel for internal wires and
components that may need to be
moved to avoid damage.

Use Right Weigh 202-BR bracket or an aermarket bracket to
mount the gauge.

CONNECT TO POWER AND GROUND

Connect the wiring harness to power and
ground. Be sure the RED wire is connected to
a SWITCHED posive (+) power source (DO
NOT CONNECT DIRECTLY TO BATTERY) and
the BLACK wire to chassis ground (-). Supply
voltage must be between 9 and 32 volts DC.
DO NOT connect directly to a battery or any constant power
source, gauge should be connected to a switched source so
that it can be disconnected from power when not in use. Most
users connect the power to the ignition switch.

Insert the gauge into the mounng

bezel indicates the boom of the
display. Screw the gauge nut onto the
back of the gauge unl it is ght.

Secure air line with zip es. Insert the

Insert a street tee fing into the top of the
air bag that matches the thread size of the
vehicle suspension. Reinstall the suspension
air line and fing into the street tee. For
more informaon on the parts needed for air
line installaon, see Appendix A (gauge to
tractor suspension) and Appendix B (gauge
to trailer suspension).

The 202-DDG-02 gauge can be used for two separate axle groups with one
Height Control Valve (HCV) each or one axle group with two HCVs. Follow the
steps below to configure the gauge to your applicaon:

From the Home screen, select the
WRENCH icon.
From the System Setup screen, select
SETTINGS.
From the Sengs screen, select
the RIGHT ARROW and then
select CONFIG INPUTS.
For monitoring one axle group with two
HCVs, the air sensors should be averaged
together. For monitoring two axle groups
with one HCV each, the sensors should be
measured independent from one another.
To set the desired configuraon, select the
blue buon between the numbers 1 and 2
(air sensors 1 and 2) unl it is set correctly
for your applicaon.

The default sengs for the gauge can be changed to make the informaon
specific to your vehicle configuraon. To change the default air sensor name,
follow these steps:

If the 202-DDG-02 load scale is used to monitor a tractor’s drive axle group, the
Esmated Steer opon can be enabled. Esmated Steer will not work for straight
trucks or anyone who slides their fih wheel regularly. To enable Esmated Steer,
follow these steps:

The 202-DDG-02 load scale must be calibrated both empty and loaded for
each axle group to work properly. The scale associates the air pressure in the
suspension system to the weight you enter at the me of calibraon. You will
need to calibrate once while the vehicle is empty, and again while the vehicle
is loaded for the axle group(s) being monitored.

monitored. DO NOT use gross weight, tare weight, etc.

1. While the vehicle is empty, obtain axle group weights from a cerfied
in-ground scale.
2. Park on a level surface. Shi the transmission to neutral and set the
parking brakes. Chock the wheels to prevent unexpected vehicle movement,
then release the parking and service brakes.
3. Make sure the Height Control Valve (HCV) has fully inflated the air bags. If
needed, briefly dump the air from the suspension and allow the HCV to refill
the system.

Follow these steps while weighing your vehicle:
1: Park on a level surface. Shi the transmission to neutral and set the

To protect calibraon data from unwanted changes, you can set a security PIN
code. When a PIN is set, the user will be required to enter the PIN in order to get
into the calibraon screens. Follow these steps to set a PIN code:

In rare cases, it might be necessary to reset the calibraon data back to the
original default values. To reset the calibraon data to the default values, follow
these steps:

If there is a problem with the gauge, it may be necessary to reset it completely
back to factory default sengs. This will remove previously set calibraon data,
air sensor configuraon and names, PIN code, etc. To reset the gauge, follow
these steps:

TROUBLESHOOTING

ERRATIC / INACCURATE READINGS
Below is a list of problems we have seen with a simple fix. If you don’t see
your problem listed here or our troubleshoong doesn’t fix your problem,
call Right Weigh Tech Support listed on page 2 for further assistance!
PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGE?
The vehicle is not parked on a level surface:
Parking on sloped or banked surfaces will cause the vehicle weight
distribuon to shi between the axle groups.
There is a significant air leak in the suspension system:
This could cause the HCV to refill the suspension at regular intervals to
maintain the vehicle’s ride height. If there is a significant leak, the gauge
display will slowly decrease in value and then quickly increase in value when
the HCV refills the suspension system.
The vehicle’s brakes are on:
When the vehicle brakes are set, they could apply addional pressure or
torque on the suspension air bags. This will cause the suspension to have a
different air pressure than what is normally needed to hold up the given
weight.
The vehicle is parked on an uneven or rough surface:
If one or more of the vehicle’s wheels are in a pothole, that could result in
addional pressure or torque on the suspension air bags. This will cause the
suspension to have a different air pressure than what is normally needed to
hold up the given weight.
The Height Control Valve (HCV) is malfunconing or broken:
If the HCV is not funconing correctly, the air pressure applied to the
suspension system could be inconsistent and/or errac. To test for an HCV
problem, acquire a weight reading from the Right Weigh gauge and write it
down (refer to gauge operang instrucons for proper procedure). Drive the
vehicle around the block and return to the same locaon. Acquire a second
reading from the Right Weigh gauge. If the two readings are significantly
different, then the HCV might be malfunconing.
CANNOT CHANGE CALIBRATION DATA
The scale has an acve user-defined security PIN:
If the scale is protected with a PIN code, the PIN must be entered before
calibraon data can be changed. To understand how to reset the PIN code, see
page 16. If the PIN code has been forgoen, please call Right Weigh technical
support listed on page 2 for further assistance.
